This is in a very nice setting at the Yacht Club but I guess that’s what you are paying for. The rooms are comfortable and clean but dated and dark with lumpy pillows and mattresses. This hotel does not offer a good value for the money. At $200 a night, one would at least expect fresh pastries in the continental breakfast; instead you receive stale donuts and coffee. The front desk check in experience was disorganized and distracted. We stayed here because all of the hotels in town were booked. Next time we will stay in Birmingham at a hotel with good rooms, service, and breakfast.

My wife said this was the first room she ever stayed in that she wouldn't change a thing. Excellent staff and such a gorgeous location (in the wooded hills near a lake). This is worth a visit. Eat at the Yacht and Golf Clubs... both amazing!!!

Cancelled my reservations one week before our stay....They told me my $200 deposit was non refundable.....Was never told this until the day of cancellation...The website clearly states 24 hour notice....I have stayed here several times and loved it....But I will NOT be staying anymore....Clearly, they do not honor what the website says....Be very careful giving out your credit card number to them...Apparently, they can charge whatever/whenever they want!!! Also, after arriving in Tuscaloosa, we called them, they were completely booked and still wouldn’t refund the $200 deposit that we were not told was non-refundable.

This is a great place to stay in Tuscaloosa. It is convenient and the people are very knowledgeable. We have stayed here several times over the years. The football games are great and this makes it easier

Had a wonderful stay, great place for a wedding.. Beautiful surroundings, the yacht club was exquisite. Plenty of room for all our guests in the wedding. Beds where very comfortable. Great staff helped us with all our needs.

We’re just spoiled by the Hampton Inn chain. We fell in love with the beds at the Hilton chain and rarely stay elsewhere. This room was nice enough and the staff was fine, but the bed is about 7 years over for a turn over, and the design of the hotel is strictly late ‘70’s/ early ‘80’s. Breakfast bar with no decaf coffee and no hot option is just not trying.

We called ahead of time with questions and no one knew how to answer since Dr. Warner was out of town. There wasn't TV the first night we were there. It is defintely cozy, but don't expect service like a large hotel chain.

I spent a couple of nights at this hotel, and was very pleased. The staff made me feel right at home. It is in a resort area, near a golf club where I was able to have a meal since the hotel has no restaurant. The setting is bucolic with some notable statues of animals, and overall the area is quite well done. This is a place I would go back to.

The stay was wonderful. The room was very nice and the staff was wonderful. we will stay again. The Jack Warner at North River is located near the Yacht Club. The golf course looked amazing. I can only imagine how beautiful it will be with everything has bloomed.

The reason I don't give this hotel five stars is it is a bit of a drive from the campus of Tuscaloosa (about 20 minutes). However, that does not bother me because I like the peace and quiet of the place. It is fun to go visit the campus with my daughter, but I like retreating back to the quiet. I am not one for the loud party scene at night, which I got with my stay at the Capstone on another visit, so this suits me just fine, but others might feel differently.
