We had to go to desk to get soap. The airconditioning system was so noisy, we had to shut it off. It was a handicap room but the tub sides were too high to allow a person with leg problems to get into it. It was $40 more expensive than the Fairfield Inn we stayed at the night before but served no breakfast and had no extra amenities.

This is a strange Marriott: Cosmetically, it seems great until you realize that the well appointed room is about 200 square feet and the a/c has not been updated since the hotel was originally built; accordingly, you spend the night thinking that a washing machine on full load cycle is perpetually on in your room. Additionally, for $150 a night, it is strange to encounter a Marriott Courtyard that does not offer free breakfast but instead charges you through the nose for everything, include $6 for two coffees to go. There is bar food to go, but the gal behind the counter was pretty unhappy at having to put together a couple of fajitas at 9:45pm even though the bill topped out at $55 and we left a $10 cash tip. I am giving this Marriott four stars however, because management and her staff handled our disappointment with the a/c in a way that left us thinking that we would give this place a second try (it's up for 180 degree renovation in early 2018). Hannah, the manager, and His hail and Adrian were fabulous and they went a long way toward mitigating our sleepless night.

Fortunately we got a good price on this room. Staff was warm and friendly and hotel was generally clean. Probably some of worst beds I have slept on in a long time. No where close to Marriotts normal quality. Mattresses were spongy and slipping off the box spring. Sheets didn't even stay on the bed. Loud air conditioner as well. This is a place I won't return to. Rating is based on very friendly staff.

My husband and I travel often, we've stayed at every type of resort/hotel/motel and this particular Courtyard was far the best customer service we have ever experienced. Both Rickayia Watson & Ronnesha Cater (Bistro) were wonderful from the second I checked in the hotel. Friendly, fun, kind, helpful, eager to help make my stay the best stay anywhere. No question was bothersome, No request was annoying, they were so incredible. Marriott Corporation should feel lucky and proud of such outstanding customer service. This reminds me of the Ritz Carlton or a 5 star hotel/resort where everything is first class. These particular employees made my stay feel like first class. It's rare in these times that you get such exceptional customer service. Thank you for putting such great people in your hotel to represent your company. It's so refreshing and you bet I'll be back. I suppose 5 or 8 years ago with the red design, Courtyard was leading edge - but this place has just gotten run down over the years. The gym - the tv fell off the eliptical. The treadmill is ok. Internet works. Bistro is fine. A lot of freeway noise. It's not bad if you're a Marriott person - but it's not good. Also, wierdest thing, the gap under the doors is surprisingly large - I've noticed b4 - someone could easily spy on a room if they wanted to....they should fix that. Friendly service at this hotel.

Pros: Rooms are very clean, refridgerators work great, house keeping is top notch and staff is very personable and helpful. Was here on buisness and they went above and beyond to accomidate us. Con: bar is slightly overpriced along with cafe, but no big deal there are plenty of breakfast places within a stones throw of here.

Courtyard by Marriott in Tuscaloosa, AL - long drive from Dallas on the way to Tennessee and couldn't go any farther. Watched for signs along I-20 and pulled off at exit 71A (I think). Saw the tall tower with the sign - but had a hard time getting to the site as the road wound around all the restaurants. No problem when you want a Marriott (and there were 2 other Marriotts adjacent). Kim (night front desk) was lovely, pleasant, and polite. Took my Marriott card and in less than 5 minutes had us settled. House was exceptionally clean, well maintained, and well laid out. Room had small coffee/tea maker, ironing board, iron, hair dryer, and two types of pillows (I prefer feather, thank you, and they worked well). Plus an extra added attraction, more blankets in the closet (good!).

We stayed one night with a large group. The customer service was great, clean rooms, clean lobby, and nice indoor pool. The only problem is the breakfest is not included in the stay. It cost us over $14.00 to feed my 9 year old son. If you stay I would plan ahead to eat breakfest somewhere else, while the food did look good it was not worth $14.00.

With some pluses: -Clean, good shape and reasonably new -Quiet area -Good bed -Friendly service And some minuses: -Noisy heater/ac unit -Light over sink pretty dim. Shaving a bit more of an adventure than normal -Only one pack of coffee for the in room coffee machines. Two would be nice and who are these people that drink decaf -No towels in work out room -No body lotion as amenity which normally I am used to in Courtyards so don't pack

My family happened to get stuck trying to make it home and we stopped here. The man, James, who checked us in was amazing even though it was midnight when we finally got here. The rooms were great, beds comfortable, etc., however they do not offer a roll a way so one child had to sleep on the floor, but we did bring his sleeping bag so that was a save! The real issue came in the morning when I realized there was no free coffee station downstairs or free breakfast. There is a bistro that sells items but one small box of cereal is $4.95. When you have a family of 6 that's not an option. I normally don't like the in room coffee pots and enjoy going down to a lobby and getting a fresh cup! If you have money to blow and are alone I would suggest this hotel, however, if you are on a budget and have a family I would definitely suggest finding another hotel.
