Turtle Cove Hotel & Residence

2.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

The hotel is in a great location that is walkable to the part of Grace Bay Beach that is not overrun with tourists, and is also within walking distance to several restaurants. However, the place needs some work. The reception was locked with no one there upon our arrival, and the rooms are muggy, sticky, and nothing to write home about. The place has potential to be a cute, quaint hotel, but needs a bit more renovation. The staff was pretty helpful, but not so enthusiastic to do so. They did book us two amazing tours, though, and provided some excellent restaurant recommendations. As long as this hotel is just used for a place to shower and sleep, rather than hang out, then it's ok.

Having pre-paid through this travel site, it was annoying to arrive to a deserted facility and have to find a "belonger" to call around to try to get someone to give me access. After over 45 minutes sweating away outside, someone finally showed up and gave me a key to the room of the this motel style facility. Despite the apologetic and friendly greeting of the off duty person who showed up, with respect to my frustration, the damage had already been done. The room had a great balcony view of the marina and was very clean. However, I am not too sure how long the "all over" coat of paint, from the recent change of ownership and renovations, will stay looking that way once they really are "open for business". In room stuff was there and pleased that wi-fi worked well. This was my second trip to Provo and this was just as an inter-flight overnight. After being handed the key, I was the only soul that I was aware of on the premises. I'd probably stay here again based on affordability - but don't set your expectations of the Turtle Cove Inn experience too high. As another reviewer said, "you get what you pay for", and with Provo hotels being pretty high priced for the islands, Turtle Cove Inn is good value for those on a limited budget. My "Yes! I would recommend this hotel to a friend." rating would be conditional to listening to the full account of the place.

Friendly, helpful front desk staff. Couldn't find my Orbitz reservation at first but worked it out. Nice room. Clean. Cable TV. WiFi. More than what I needed for one night. $14.00 cab ride from the airport. Definitely recommend the place.

Good location, rooms are ok, there were a roach in the room and mosquitos, The comforter, was stained, as for the shower the water ran so slow it took forever to take a shower, only a little fridge no hair dryer or coffee maker or microwave, however the staff are the best, very helpful and willing to help.

This is a good hotel, very clean and the staff is nice, but if you are looking for a resort, don´t go there. You can find beautiful beaches in Providenciales (walking distance).

Overall pretty satisfied with the quiet, simple and quaint features. Yes for the following: cable TV to entertain tired beach goers before bed, mini fridge to stow our own food, strong AC, polite manager, quiet and private marina, restaurants next door. Best advantage = INSANELY cheap compared to Grace Bay resorts. Not close to upscale food and pampered tourist beach scene which was just what we wanted to avoid, though it does get lonely and VERY boring in this area at night. This was harder to ignore. Room cleanliness was by no means perfect but nothing gross or unhygienic. Besides the isolation, my only other beef with this place (which was pretty major, it turned out) = VERY unreliable wifi, even completely absent for an entire day! This is key for my traveling style. Also plan ahead to flee the Friday night live music redneck scene at the restaurant next door.

I extended my dive vacation and needed a place to stay last minute that wasn't going to cost an arm and a leg. It is in a nice location off the marina with several restaurants / bars within walking distance. It would have been nice if they had a coffee maker in the room but otherwise it was clean and suited my purpose. I gave it 3 stars for location, cleanliness and cost compared to similar type hotels.

The Hotel is the cheapest one on the island, and is just fine. It's nothing special, but it's pretty clean, pretty convenient to the beach, provides beach towels, and our room had a balcony looking out onto the marina. I was looking for somewhere to stay for a night before joining my boyfriend's family at a resort, and the Turtle Cove Inn fit the bill. Also they were friendly and helpful. Oh! And if you're into snorkeling, there is a nice reef in walking distance.

Adequate for the money, kind of dreary, grounds attractive, you have to pay for internet, need a car, won't stay here in future December 2010
