For business I travel to our Toulouse office, and regularly stay at the Novotel Toulouse Centre Wilson. The staff are super friendly and accommodating. The rooms are a bit small, but work well. The wifi connection is a bit spotty at times. What I love best is the location. It's in the heart of downtown Toulouse center, close to shopping, pubs, and restaurants.
Stayed here for 3 nights. Staff was nice and helpful. Room was big, not all expected items for a 4 stars hotel (no slippers, no shower helmet, no bath robe). Strange wall in the bathroom (glass one which transformed from mat to transparent by pushing a button).Minibar had only one 0.5 l water bottle. Coffee, tea and sugar to prepare yourself in the room were available. Loved the bed and pillows - slept very well. Breakfast was good, except coffee. You had warm and cold food selection, but all days the same. Surroundings are nice, and you are close to a lot of attractions. Just around the corner the commercial street, including Galerie Lafayette, and restaurants. Metro station also 400 meters.
I am a fan of Novotels, and this one is perfectly located in Toulouse! And they have bathtubs, which is important to me!! I ate Diner at the restaurant associated with the hotel - word of warning- you can not charge to your room!
I spent a few days in Toulouse recently, I’m a photographer & often do random trips to keep my images fresh. Normally, I’m quite happy to slum it, however, I had a friend visiting from overseas & decided to spend a little more money & order a ‘Superior room’ thinking it would be a little treat. Although the room was clean & the bed was large & comfy, overall I was a little disappointed as the room was tiny & completely lacked the pizazz that one would expect from a Superior room at the Novotel. The real shocker was paper tea & coffee cups with instant coffee powder, this is in France where you assume the food & drinks would be of a superior quality. I love coffee & my morning cup is practically a moment of pure bliss before throwing myself into the chaos of the day... I have stayed at backpacker hostels in some really dodgy places & they give you real cups, what on earth are the Novotel thinking with paper cups & instant coffee? No doubt you could go down to the restaurant for coffee but when my hair is sticking sideways & my face still has the imprint of sheet creases, the last thing I want is to be in public, as for room service, they charge extra & the coffee is always cold. So, if you love coffee, either take your own machine or stay elsewhere, oh & the milk was those horrible little thimble sized containers where you practically need 20 to add a slight tinge of white to your beverage. The room looked out onto an unsightly rooftop covered with loud machinery that made it impossible to open the windows & enjoy the cool evening air. Thankfully, the windows were double sealed so when they were closed, the noise wasn’t a problem but I really don’t like to rely on air conditioning alone as it has a stuffy quality. The shower is large with good pressure, the problem was it is an open style with a small glass screen & no door, so no matter how careful I was, the bathroom floor became quite wet & the floor towel would be soaked, I know this may seem like a first world problem, but when I have paid fair bit of money for a hotel room, I expect a little better. Overall, the staff were friendly, the barman was very professional & the cleaners always ensured the room looked perfect when I got back late afternoon. However, as I previously mentioned, the room was extremely average & small, definitely not worth the money I paid. I have found in general a lot of the hotels close to town are asking far too much for their rooms, they use their location as the sole attractant & they don’t provide close to what I would expect in a hotel of that price range. The only reason I would stay at the Novotel Toulouse Centre Wilson again is the location, it does have a fantastic location if you want to be able to explore town on foot. I think it is an excellent hotel for business trips, it has a wonderful conference room and the facilities are perfect, however, I didn’t find the ambience conducive to a romantic getaway or a chilled out weekend. I don’t think I will stay at the Novotel again, I’m discovering some gorgeous hotels out of town which are far better quality & work harder for the clientele, it means the extra expense of a taxi but it works out ok because the price for a room is a lot cheaper then the city hotels, just something to consider if you are coming to Toulouse. In conclusion, great hotel for business, excellent location & good facilities, not great to chill with a friend or if you are a coffee aficionado.
Clean and confortable rooms. Small like European hotels. In the centre of the city. Capitol is about 200 meters. Best chocolate shops are nearby. The place around is of eateries. Not much traffic around. Breakfast is good. Has a bar. Good place to stay on a short trip
It is just that our room was not what we had expected. We somehow landed a room with only roofline windows, so all we could see was the sky. My husband is 6 feet, he kept bumping his head on the slanted walls if he was not paying attention. The bathroom was strange. There were only two lights: one around the mirror that had minimum lumens like under 3000k.(normal is 6000K) and one sort of light near the toilet. The shower had no light at all. To get into this bathroom, one had to squeeze by the bed because the door only opened half way. I wonder if someone larger could fit through...again so odd. We were there for one night in Toulouse, passing through, not worth the trouble. If you plan to stay longer, check out if you are on a roofline floor...please for your own comfort.
We were really pleased we booked this hotel as some of the reviews are only 'OK' - we found it all to be wonderful. The location is bang in the middle of the shopping area, 5 mins walk to the Victor-Hugo market (which is so worth a visit - take a shopping bag and buy all your fresh food here), with many restaurants and bars within easy walking distance. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom great, good views and our room had two TVs as we had a sitting room too. Breakfast was worth the price as it offers a good spread of cooked and uncooked food to suit all tastes, served in a wonderful room with a lovely atrium which is gorgeous. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good price, good location, reliable service hotel.
First impression is of a very good modern refurbished Novotel. However, after 5 nights you realise it is more style over substance. The TV remote did not work on arrival, the bathroom doors (2) are heavy and do not close properly- therefore a lack of privacy. There is a window feature in the bathroom so you can be viewed from the bed to the WC- true the window can be switched to opaque- however, if one person gets up at night to the bathroom- the light floods the bedroom- opaque or not- really bad design feature. The money would have been better spent on providing a shower door- to stop the bathroom floor from flooding. We asked three times for the bathroom door to be fixed, it wasn't. The room air con was set to maximum cool through our entire stay, but still the room was too hot. Again we asked 3 times for the air con to be looked at, it wasn't. We asked for a fan in the room- but was told the hotel does not have one. The only thing fixed was the TV remote. Housekeeping was random, some days you get water, others not, some days tea/coffee tray is replenished some days not. The jacuzzi spa was also out of service during our stay. Reception staff appear to have a lack of tourist knowledge. All tourist leaflets are locked away and when they gave us a tour bus one, it was out of date. By Novotel standards, I think this lacked the consistency you would expect from the brand. It appears not geared up to tourists but to business community for very short stays. The location is very good though, very central and most sights are walkable. Metro and airport shuttle are nearby along with numerous bars and restaurants. However, I would chose a different Accor hotel if staying in this area again- too many deficiencies without the will to fix them. Friendly check in, OK breakfast, and location means the hotel just about scrapes into the average rating.
Very poor , not only are we sure had our luggage opened and items stolen while our baggage left in our locked room, likely taken by service staff, the hotel did not respond to our emails over the next few days. When phoned the front desk the day after they simply told us they had no knowledge of the missing items ( jewellery & cycle gear ) and were unhelpful. I cannot recommend this hotel nor this chain ( Novotel )
Hotel is in the City centre of Toulouse which is convenient for a dinner in town or if you want to do some shopping. Little spa and gym are available. Rooms are okay with a good bed. And staff speaks English.
