Pere Leon is a good hotel. The location is great. The air conditioning in our room was fantastic. We hate noisy draughty air conditioning but this was perfect especially as it was very hot outside. The bathroom was too intimate, especially as the door didn't shut properly. The room was clean and comfortable. Toulouse was weird. I think we must have hit it at the last week of term as there was a big build up to the music festival when the whole town went crazy. None of the museums seemed to have their permanent displays which was disappointing and we couldn't appreciate the splendour of the square due to the big stage and seating. That said we had a lovely time and the students were very polite and friendly.
I liked this hotel. We stayed here for two nights. Great AC, very modern, well kept. We had two adults and a child, so that gave us a triple. I think the kids bed might be some kind of Murphy bed, but we couldn't figure if you could put it back. It was a little tight space, but for a big city with perfect metro access, I won't complain. The bathroom was built into the room with frosted glass, so you could keep people awake with that light.
After a brusque greeting and determination that our booking was prepaid online, we were assigned a room on the second floor. It's only window looked out on a walled air space so we used our phones to determine the day's weather. The room itself was clean and comfortable though small. The hotel's location is very convenient.
We were attending meetings in te Purpan area of Toulouse, but wanted to be in a more interesting part of the city. The Hotel Pere Leon fit the bill perfectly as it is literally outside the Esquirol metro, which connects at Arenes to the tram we needed for all our business. The hotel staff were friendly and courteous, arranged for a taxi to the airport and provided some info about the area (although they probably should have known more about the local restaurants). The room was large and the bed VERY comfortable. The bathroom was a little odd in that the walls were frosted glass, so I think we both felt more comfortable while doing our due diligence to leave the light inside off and use the room light to take care of business. My two main complaints were that the wireless was often slow or non-existent and that there was a problem with our hotel safe. Otherwise, all was as it should be. We did not choose breakfast, so I cannot coment on that, nor did we need to park a car (although bringing a car as a tourist to inner city toulouse is a questionable decision). You are located 10 mins from capitole and 15 from the cathedral in a nice area. I would return without hesitation. ALso, their restaurant was very good, with good prices.
Very good value for this hotel, just opposite esquirol metro station, in the very center of Toulouse. I had a small room, but clean and well thought. Breakfast also good, but I didn't try the restaurant. People helpful. I recommend it.
This is a lovely hotel and we enjoyed our stay here. It is right opposite the metro and pretty central convenient for the Augustine museum and the cathedral. Even though it is on a busy street rooms were quiet. They are large and well equipped we both had plenty of space in a twin room. Beds are comfortable and I got an excellent nights sleep. There are coffee and tea in the room. Bathroom is also well equipped if a little small The shower is a power shower with 2 heads and excellent. Breakfast is reasonable at €9 and a good selection of fresh meat, cheese and pastries. A lovely stay and recommended.
Small simple hotel and reasonably priced. right next to Esquirol metro and great position in the old part of Toulouse. All the interesting museums, squares, markets, churches well within a 15 minute walk. breakfast not great but lots of cafes in easy walking distance. Staff friendly and helpful.
We were really impressed with this modern style hotel and it's location close to the Garonne and the Place Capitol. On a busy main street but within minutes you're walking around the streets and alleyways of the old centre. The stylish shopping street of Rue d'Alsace Lorraine is also minutes away. The rooms are modern, spacious and well equipped, although we did think a small refrigerator would have been useful. Staff are friendly and the lady receptionist was so lovely, courteous and very helpful. We would recommend this hotel and hope to return next time we visit Toulouse.
Wow this hotel hit all the essentials. Largest room in our many trips to France. Totally updated, great bathroom, super shower, great people at the front desk, nice in house cafe, super beds and linens, great central location close to old town and shopping We just couldn't have asked for more at a reasonable price. Could go on and on but trust me just stay here you wont be disappointed!
Recently returned after a brief but enjoyable stay covering a Friday and Saturday night. The Hotel is very well located and within walking distance of most central sights. Turn right out the hotel and immediately right again and you are in the Rue des Changes with plenty of old medieval charm. Historic buildings all over the place. Following that will take you to central squares and the fantastic central market. A must visit. You are surrounded by shops, bars and cafes so plenty to choose from.If you go out the hotel and straight across into the Rue des Filaties you are spoiled for choice with the bars on offer. All popular with the locals. A great buzz in the evening. Again if you turn right out the hotel and follow the Rue de Metz you will come to the banks of the Garonne River within a 5 minute walk.Metro opposite the hotel. The Hotel itself is great for a 3 star. Welcoming and helpful staff and 24/7 cover on reception. Clean room with a very comfortable bed. Great shower. I suppose the down side would be the noise from the late evening and all night revellers if you kept the window open but they've got air con so you can shut it out. Room size on the small side so if there are two of you and you've got a large amount of luggage, staying for a few days you might want a larger room and I don't know if they've got the choice. Best ask beforehand. For me as a solo traveller it was great. No complaints. Just a helpful note, it's about a 10 - 12 min walk to the Airport bus stop from the hotel . Airport bus is 8 euros compared to a 30 euro taxi so no contest.
