We had a one night stay at the Fairfield. I was really happy with the amenities. Our room was clean and spacious. Lots of lights and outlets which seem to be lacking these days in hotels. The pool was fairly small but good enough. The beds were incredibly comfortable. We had a great night's sleep. We stayed on the 5th floor so we seemed to be pretty isolated from noise and traffic. Breakfast was typical. Cereals, eggs, sausage, breads, yogurt, oatmeal, waffles and fresh fruit. Apples, bananas and cold lemon water were always available.
We chose Fairfield Inn because of a good price on TripAdvisor and excellent reviews. We were not disappointed. While we hoped for the double queen room, we ended up with the king suite instead. Our girls loved the "couch that turned into a bed" so we were happy we ended up in the king suite. Breakfast was substantial with waffles, oatmeal, eggs, sausage and choice of yogurts, breads and cereals. Our only regret was that there was no crispy bacon. As they do at every hotel we stay at, our girls loved to pool, too. Overall, a wonderful stay!
This is a review about the Fairfield, but in truth, from my vantage point, The Fairfield is in fact, 'Andre' the Manager of the place. Does this guy ever sit down or have a break? From the authentic 'welcome back Mr Klein' (before i even get to the front desk) to his unwavering attention at breakfast (he cleans tables and preps food stations too?) there seems to be no aspect of service he isnt personally involved in. Its that attention to detail that guarantees a great stay and return customers. I had to leave after one short day because there were no available rooms (no surprise there!). I would have stayed the week, but instead ended up at a Holiday Inn. Same rates, v dissimilar experience. Every staffer at the Fairfield takes their queues from Andre, each genuinely seemed ecstatic to serve. And in the day and age, thats a rare quality indeed. Keep showing them how its done Fairfield Inn.
Once again, our travel plans were chiefly responsible for choosing this hotel. It simply made sense. Seeing as how it served as a ‘base station of sorts for us, we weren’t looking for out of the ordinary amenities. The hotel completely met our expectations in this regard, BUT exceeded our expectations by way of service! When we arrived, we were warmly greeted by a young lady (Tamana). She was all smiles and welcoming, as if we were visitors to her home. Better yet, to her parents’ home. It was all in her demeanor and the conversation she engaged us in. And when we inquired into a room change, she quickly went about making it happen. There was no ‘back up’ excuses laid out, or talk which creates a feeling of indebtedness. She simply got it done. All with a smile. She is the type of first-contact any business would want. Setting the stage for our stay, any and all interaction with staff that we had was of similar course. Our room was very comfortable; spacious, nicely-appointed, and clean! Of special interest, the pillows were extremely comfortable and the towels, quite soft. Once again, clean! Though the shower/tub was on the smaller side, we found the bathroom provided ample space. The hotel offers a lounge (an extension of the lobby) as well as a complimentary breakfast, which we did not partake of, simply based on schedule. We did see patrons enjoying themselves in both regards. In spite of the lobby/lounge being rather busy with jovial guests, none of that translated to the room floors, as the halls were very much quiet. There is also a gym and pool available, which we did take full advantage of. The location was in close proximity to various interstates, so managing our itinerary was seamless. Overall, we were very much satisfied in the outcome of this ‘blind’ choice and would most certainly stay there again.
All good Great breakfast super clean 100% .Staff friendly & very helpful Free shuttle for close destinations . Heated pool .Good gym got in shape while away (six pack in less than five days) Will be back next year MAG
Our family (we have a couple young kids) stayed here while we were visiting home for several days in July (we live out East now). The staff here are very personable and went out of their way to accommodate us as best as they could. The little lady that ran the breakfast had outstanding guest service - she ran that little breakfast area always with a smile. We made sure to tell her about her great service. The manager here was a pleasure to talk to as well, and and it was nice to talk about things we had in common. We will definitely be back for our next trip home!
Overall, I really have to say that what really stands out with this hotel is the level of cleanliness that they employ, despite an unfortunate incident we experienced. We stayed in two hotels rooms at this hotel, a double queen room and a king room, and we were so very comfortable as the rooms were beautifully appointed and clean. And the beds were extremely comfortable so I was actually able to get a really decent sleep! With that said, the check in process was awesome and friendly. However, what separated this hotel from receiving a four or five point rating is that some of the staff had poor customer service and an incident in my room where I used a towel and later discovered it had a blood smears on the corners of it. As to the incident, In the early morning after showering, I found blood on my towel that was not mine, and I didn't know if it had been laundered or not as it was very evident. I was mortified as I had dried my back and legs with this towel, so my husband spoke to the night manager about this concern. He was also disgusted and apologized giving us fresh towels yet nothing else was done. This was unacceptable and should have been addressed by the day manager. I know how hard they work to keep the hotel clean, and that this can happen, but it was unnerving. Moreover, I found that the breakfast area could have been better run and that the staff there were so unfriendly and just didn't care about the guest experience at all. Very uncomfortable. Also, I wonder if some of the food handling was up to par as the milk was very warm and it didn't seem like food safety standards were met at all times. In addition, I found that one male staff member didn't want to speak to me and overtalked me when I tried, probably because I was a woman. He would speak and listen to my husband but not me which offended me. Most other staff was very pleasant, friendly, and went above and beyond. Further, I had authorized charges to hold the rooms on two credit cards, rather than just one. When I returned home I contacted the hotel to comment that this was very inconvenient as only one credit card should have been charged. He apologized, and when I mentioned about the blood on the towel, he stated that the Manager would contact me. This did not happen. I am disappointed. With some small tweaks, this hotel can keep and succeed its high rating.
The family held our annual reunion in Toronto this year. The Fairfiled was a great place to gather in the evenings due to the design of the new lobby. Staff very friendly and location is directly across from Imax cinema and great variety of eating places.
We chose the hotel due to its proximity to Toronto Pearson Airport. We were immediately welcomed by the front desk staff and checked in very quickly. We asked them for recommendations for dinner and were given many options as well as menus from those restaurants. We were also informed of discounts available because we were staying at this hotel. Our breakfast experience was also great and I was pleased with the different options of foods. The room was perfect as well. The bed was comfortable and clean. We greatly enjoyed our experience at this hotel.
No doubts the rooms are good and location is great but to my surprise the breakfast quality was lower quality than whatever is expected and the person in charge was not handling the food properly nor responded with respect to related remarks. And the worst part is when reported to the manager on duty he was finding excuses and justifying the lack of Service due to the reasons the staff was under training and nothing can be done for now, he was kind of I do not care, so beat it. That is shocking for a Marriott ran facility which I personally have lot of respects to and consider them always as my first choice
