Very convenient location

I booked the unit because of the convenient location. The geography of the unit is walking distance to Kaminarimon and the surrounding area. The unit was modern relative to the age of the building and really good for a group of adults looking for a crash pad. The two full bathrooms allowed for everyone to shower and get to bed quickly and is very unique for housing in Japan. It is subtle, but the age of the building does come through. This is a walk up with a steep, internal stairway. A couple of the windows are cracked and taped--probably why the curtains are always drawn. Given the state of the windows, we decided to leave them closed. The lack of ventilation is probably the reason why there is an odor to the building, which is probably worse in the rainy season. I think we might have been first to rent on the VRBO platform because we had issues checking in. I did not receive my entry instructions and ended up having to contact VRBO to intervene. Based on the listing, I thought I would be dealing with Rakuten, but they instead gave me the phone number of the "property manager" to contact instead. Needless to say, it took a few hours to sort out and had an impact on our time in Tokyo. Once we got a hold of the property manager he requested communication on Line rather than through the VRBO structure that I was used to.
