Great experience. Thanks to all the very friendly staff, especially Ferida, one of the Managers, that made sure everything ran smoothly. Perfect option if you're a pool or beach person..not to mention the pool bar :). Would definitely recommend.
Amazing place fab beds clean sheets nice towels friendly staff !! all inc plan such great value means a great selection of cocktails spirits and wine!! Food great plus you can eat on the beach in waves restaurant free!! Great beach lovely clean pool with swim up bar cannot fault this holiday would deinitely return to this lovely island😍😍😍😍
Had wonderful holiday. Hotel was very welcoming, food good, clean rooms. Waves restaurant is brilliant. Lunch sitting looking out on the beach is great. Tobago is a beautiful island and the people are very friendly. A tour around the island is a must as is lunch at Gemma’s and a trip to the adventure farm to see the humming birds. Would definitely return.
On a trip to Trinidad with my family, we were able to spend 4 days in Tobago at Le Grand Courlan, it was an absolutely amazing experience! The staff were very professional, friendly and helpful; Dion at Breezes Lounge, Tevin at the swim up bar, Petra in reception and the two lovely women (I wish I had written down their names) at the Pinnacle Restaurant and Waves Beach Bar. You could easily spend a few weeks here, our stay was so short we didn't have time to try the spa. We did manage to fit in an island tour and paddle boarding outside of the resort, there is no lack of activities to be found. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone, my only regret being that my family and I didn't have time to stay longer. Thanks to all of you who made this a memorable vacation!
My wife and I recently spent 10 days at Le Grand Courlan and had a wonderful time. The first thing to say about the resort is that the staff are absolutely great and really go out of their way to make you feel at home, from the friendly and helpful reception staff (thanks, in particular to Petra), the room cleaning staff (always clean towels - in fact at one stage we had 6 between us!) and the catering and bar staff (in particular, Dion was a real star, but everyone worked hard). The rooms were comfortable and perfectly adequate and pretty spacious. The food was pretty good, even for fussy eaters like us (vegetarian fish eaters with one gluten free). We would have liked a little variation on the fish front but the salads were tasty and plentiful. The beach is really great, not too busy despite it being a public beach and the sea and sand were lovely. The swimming pool, with its swim up bar was good too. Waves Bar on the beachfront was really excellent. We would certainly recommend the hotel and would have no hesitation in returning.
we stayed at the hotel in October. Our room was well equipped and comfortable. Yes it was a bit tired but does that matter. The food was excellent with meals served in an outside restaurant. The pool was very clean with the swim up bar. The drinks especially the cocktails were excellent. Staff were helpful and lovely people. Yes there were a lot of steps to the beach but what a beach absolutely brilliant. Loved swimming in the sea. The Spa was first class with the three treatments included. The hotel does need some maintenance but from what we could see the hotel were trying. The only thing wrong was that we only went for one week. Will return.
After reading some reviews I was not sure what we were going to find. We were there from 20th Oct to 27th Oct 2017 and found the hotel welcoming and comfortable. The service was excellent from the hotel staff ,who were always very friendly. The beach was amazing and I suggest a trip into the rain Forrest. we would go back :)
Just needed to relax & spend some me time. Great place to do that. Staff very helpful, pleasant, cheerful & attentive to one's needs. Meals! Excellent. Hotel, dated but clean, maybe if more people visited updates could be made. Oceanview room, very relaxing.
This hotel is nothing as it is advertised, the hotel is dated with lots of damaged areas including steps were several people tripped on (there are 104 steps from reception to the Waves bar where you have to have lunch) nothing mentioned in brochure. The pool was dirty and never cleaned, the smaller pool had green water and not used, the bars never opened on time as advertised on all paperwork, but when you mention it they tell you the times have changed but never update anyone, and then still open late. The food was cold at breakfast and diner but fine in the Waves bar. We were to chose 3 spa treatments each on arrival but when we arrived these had been chosen for us and then we were asked to fill out a medical form - but of course we could not do all the treatments for various reasons and not allowed to change them, so we missed out on some. The evening bar never opened on time and you waited up to 55 minutes on one occasion to find someone who then as night manager did not know where the keys were?? on another night I found a member of staff asleep on the bar having to poke them to wake them up !!! the maintenance around the hotel is very poor - tiles missing off walls around the pool, broken steps which people tripped on and our toilet did not work properly all week even though I raised this 3 times with reception nothing happened, I had to turn it off every night at the wall and back on in the morning - OH BUT at 6pm the night we left a man arrived to fix it - A BIT LATE MATEY!! 4 stars this hotel is not BUT with some changes it could be - the staff are great but the managers are awful and should be removed they all go by 5pm and never see how the general team struggle to cope. we were here with 5 other couples NO ONE ELSE and they could not cope. The team told us that they were never trained and if someone complained they were to treat them better that the others so they do not complain again - how crap is that.
Arrived early - room was ready - reception staff so quick to check in - we were all inclusive menus always had tempting foods, lunch at the waves was totally amazing we arrived out of season so hotel was quite but we meet such amazing guests had a great time - totally idealic rustic and peaceful will certainly return to this resort - thank you all for a fantastic holiday
