Holiday house Cavigliano for 1 - 4 persons with 2 bedrooms - Farmhouse
ED Refnr. 1532504
The detached house of a goat farm is located in beautiful natural surroundings. The loving and tasteful furnishings give the modern house with its light-flooded rooms a very personal charm. Surrounded by roses, lush vegetation and southern herbs, you can enjoy the tranquillity of the Ticino countryside in the garden or on the pergola terrace. There you can relax undisturbed with a view of the valley. The inviting large living and dining room with a wood-burning stove and a bright kitchen is located on the mezzanine floor. Upstairs there is a large, marvellous double bedroom with panoramic mountain and starry sky views directly from the bed and a second bedroom with a spacious bunk bed. The house is made available to you by its hospitable residents while they are on the Sommeralm with their goats. The stable buildings and the cellar are not included in the rental. You can stock up on fresh goat's cheese and other regional delicacies at any time in the farm's own self-service shop and enjoy the surrounding area on walks or hikes, which was declared a national park project 10 years ago due to its unique beauty, but was unfortunately never realised.
Other sports and leisure activities: A paradise! - Not just for hikers: an extensive network of paths offers countless opportunities for both long hikes and leisurely strolls. On old alpine paths and mule tracks, you can get particularly close to the rare natural beauty of Ticino. Climbers will find interesting rock tours in the Centovalli. The clear mountain rivers Maggia and Melezza offer charming bathing spots with secluded sandy bays and granite rocks for sunbathing. Cool mountain lakes and smaller streams with clear water and blue-green pools offer welcome refreshment on hikes. Lake Maggiore is ideal for swimming, surfing, sailing and boating. Boat trips to Italy and the famous Brissago Islands are offered from Locarno and Ascona. The local tourist office organises a wide range of holiday activities such as horse riding, canyoning, rafting, tennis, diving and much more. Verscio, 4 kilometres away, is home to the famous 'teatro Dimitri', which offers a wide range of cultural activities and courses.
Excursion possibilities: Dolce vita on Lake Maggiore: On Lake Maggiore - just 10 km away - you will find another charming side of Ticino: a surprisingly enchanting southern flair! Ascona, one of the most exclusive holiday destinations in Switzerland, invites you to stroll around with its lido, its picturesque alleyways with numerous boutiques, cafés, restaurants and the large piazza right on the lake. It offers its guests a rich artistic and cultural programme with museums, art galleries and major European music festivals. Locarno, with the Italian charm of its old town centre and sunny lakeside promenades, is also well worth a visit. The old monuments, ancient churches and aristocratic residences bear witness to an interesting history. Piazza Grande, from which narrow alleyways lead up to the picturesque old town centre, lies at the heart of the city. Markets, concerts and the famous international film festival, the bars, street cafés and the many small shops and stalls under the arcades bring Locarno to life.

Location description: As soon as you arrive, you are greeted by the lovely scent of Mediterranean flora, pass through the narrow streets of the three Centovalli villages of Tegna, Verscio and Cavigliano and already get a sense of the magic of the Ticino landscape. The turn-off into the Onsernone Valley leads into one of its most pristine and mysterious valleys with chestnut forests, deep gorges, imposing cliffs and crystal-clear streams. On the sunny side of the valley, the villages cling to the hillside like eagles' nests. Some of them can only be reached on foot. You will find stately manor houses built by emigrants next to modest, simple stone houses that tell the story of old mountain farming culture. Here, the harsh beauty of nature blends harmoniously with a centuries-old, man-made cultural landscape. Many artists loved this valley and found and still find their inspiration in the tranquillity of the chestnut forests far away from tourism.Ticino - fascinating contrasts of nature: Ticino never ceases to delight its visitors with its unique and fascinating landscape. Thanks to the mild climate and the many hours of sunshine, lush, partly Mediterranean vegetation thrives here. You would hardly expect to find palm trees, camellias, mimosas, oleanders and figs so close to the Alps in the centre of Europe. They make life here seem easier and form a fascinating contrast to the sight of the rustic forests with centuries-old chestnut trees, the stone-roofed granite houses and stables with their labour-intensive mountain terraces, the gorges carved deep into the rocks with their shimmering green rivers and the high, often snow-covered peaks. Exhilarating views from footpaths high above the lake open up the mirror-like surface of Lake Maggiore and its shores and mountains all the way to Italy.
