Governors Inn

Beautiful building, great concept Hotel, room was damp smelling but clean, bathrooms need a upgrade.

We were in town for only one night, from the valet service through check-out there was never ay incidental request they didn't accommodate. Will definitely be going back to the Governors' Inn!

Price jacked up for the weekend and a lot of people unhappy with the breakfast fare/availability. Will be staying in Tallahassee frequently the next four years and might give another chance, but.....

The mattress really needs to be changed; we ended up both occupying the middle of the bed, which is OK if that’s what you’re looking for, but not good at all for trying to sleeep. Breakfast was frugal. Otherwise, good location.

Quick turnaround in Tallahassee. Got in late, everything was great.

Staff was professional and friendly. Public areas nice. Room disappointing as it was interior with no exterior view and the TV remotes require input from front desk to operate. The shower pressure was very low and mold was also present. Would not return.

This is not entirely the hotel fault, but they could have try to contact incoming guests about issue beyond their control that can effect the guests. Basically the construction and event in that evening completely block off all streets to the hotel. The hotel is in middle in downtown. Maneuver around 1 ways streets is very difficult if you are not familiar with the area. The maps service directions is not helpful. I have to escape that maze to find a place that I can stop the car and call hotel. Then I find out that I can check in with some guy standing on some corner of the street nearby the hotel. My wife and I, after the frustration, decided that we cancel the reservation, and find somewhere else. Besides that we actually did not stay at the hotel, the staff is very friendly.

Room was not cleaned to a normal standard. The trash can had already-been-chewed chewing tobacco and other trash left from previous guest. There was also a small roach in bathroom. There was a bad odor throughout hotel. I did let the front desk know about the tobacco, and they promptly removed it and applied a small discount to my bill. The entire facility could use a deep clean and/or update.

Great older hotel, could use a solid updating (especially bathrooms), but the location and staff are the best. First floor main hall rooms take a “noise hit” during football season (we got a few obnoxious, late night, intoxicated armchair QB conversations 😥, so maybe a tasteful, but visible sign in the front reminding people that it’s not s soundproof hallway?)...but we will return...and request a more remote room. 😉

The historic theme of the hotel set in the context the States Politics made for a unique experience. The hotel was quiet and peaceful opposite a great restaurant that serves an inexpensive delicious lunch buffet. You could walk to State Capitol ; Collegetown and FSU.

really nice small historic hotel in downtown beautiful interior; BF, happy hour drinks; can't beat it

At first glance upon check in, everything looked good. The hotel is in a great location and super cute. The front desk receptionist was very nice and helpful. However, as we settled in for the night, problems started. 1. The tv didn’t work and the maintainence man didnt know how to fix it. 2. The shower had very hard (no water softener) water and TERRIBLE water flow. The bed required a step stool to get on and the mattress was way to soft which resulted in an achey back. Finally, the breakfast options were minimal at best. So, I guess if you want a good location at a decent price across the street from a jamming night club, this is your hotel. But if comfort and nice ammenities are important to you, perhaps not.

Needs to do some upgrades - especially mattress. Staff was amazing. Location perfect.

Quiet with good service. Had to change room due to tv not working but staff was great. Construction on next block made location great without the construction mess

Nice looking hotel but lack of control in room AC. WiFi password didn’t work and could get regular tv on. Beds were entirely too soft for someone with back issues. It is central to all Tallahassee he to offer which is not much

Dearest Anonymous, I am confused by your comments, as we do not "price jacked up for the weekend", in fact most weekend are significantly lower on the weekends (hint: a great time to try our hotel and get a mini-staycation for the locals!!!). You will find our rates are in line or even a bit lower then the other local downtown hotels. Just to let you know we are working on upgrading our breakfast so your next visit should see some changes! We do look forward to serving you again in the near future.
