Never Again!!

Hotel room very dark & dated compared to photos shown. Room smelt of mould,no kettle,shower was in need of a new hose. Receptionist was so helpful booking taxis & transfers. Breakfast you have to walk to another building across from hotel, once there I wish we had not bothered!!!

The staff at the facility were very kind and helpful. The facility itself is in need of some maintenance but not more than is typical for an older 2/3 star hotel. The pool was nice and the complimentary breakfast was basic but sufficient. The free shuttle service (4 times daily) to their sister hotel (SuwanPalm) at Coconut Beach was a bonus. The SusanPalm is located right on the beach and it's an easy walk to 3 or 4 other beach side restaurants / hotels who will welcome your business. The Mohintara itself is a little ways from the city center so a truck taxi (200 TBH each way) or another form of transportation is required. The hotel does not have a restaurant. We stayed at the hotel 4 nights while scuba diving 3 days.

Average budget hotel. Good pool. They do not provide hand towels even after making a request.This hotel could be a gem if they maintained it properly. There were issues with water pressure.Very good egg/omelette and bacon for breakfast.Besides that not much variety.There was an issue with hotel staff burning leaves in the garden on almost daily basis creating a choking smoke. As said before a bit of effort from management would render this hotel a very good choice for Khaolak.

Great value pool access rooms

"You get what you pay for," and for this hotel at the low season prices, it's a great deal. An aging property, but the prices reflect that, and the pool-access rooms were a great value. Sheets, bathroom were clean, bed comfortable, A/C works. Wifi good, check-in fast. We only stayed for one night, but overall, a great deal.

Check in was very slow process and they seemed to have difficulty finding our reservation. They asked for voucher but all I had was the Expedia confirmation. Hard bed but good breakfast.

Left the hotel in the middle of the night

My room included AC, but the machine was so loud, even when turned off, that you would mean a car was placed inside the room. All ACs are probably connected together hence that noise. Probably very old ones, too. I went to the reception at 1AM but there was nobody except a security guy who didn't speak english or understood what I meant. Left the room hotel at 2AM and looked for another one.

Noisy room

The room is fine but NOISY: traffic during the day, air con from the two bedrooms at the sides (I felt like I was sleeping in an airport!). The pool is nice but the water is not very clean.

Staff is super friendly, they own a second resort on the beach which they will shuttle you into so you can enjoy those amenities as well. They have a restaurant at that location.

Great value

Not on the beach but has a sister hotel they will shuttle you to and they serve the breakfast there as well. There was not many people at the hotel which made it very quiet. Rooms are very spacious, no elevator,no restaurant

Khaolak, pleasant spot on the andaman sea

hotel built in large square with all rooms facing onto pool with large gardens and lounging patio area, on edge of town, no problem since had a car, lots of free parking. close by town with many restaurants, bars, beach goes for miles with many restaurants facing beach, with on beach seating, many with entertainment and some shows, fire batons etc. khaolak is a worthwhile stop on the andaman sea, also another settlement area just south on other side of rocky outcropping with another beautiful beach with many resorts, restaurants and bars

Nice hotel a bit far out

This hotel is fantastic if you have your own transport, as it is at the end of the town. It is cheap, spacious rooms, good air-con, swimming pool. It also provides free bottled water(2daily) and replenishes the tea/coffee for making in the room with kettle provided. They also provide pools towels.This hotel is unfortunately 4km from the nearest beach. There is a small restaurant just outside the Haven Resort near this beach which does the cheapest cocktails during 'Happy hour' between 6pm and 10pm where the cocktails work out at 50BHT each ( you have to buy 2 for 100BHT). Great beaches with long stretches for walks in the evenings.Small market just round the corner where you can but fruit/sweets and breakfast items. Twice daily free shuttle to sister hotel Suwan Palm ( 10am and 5pm) where you can use their pool, sunbeds etc. The beach is nice and has shady spots under trees.This also brings you closer to the main shopping precinct where there are many restaurants and money change.--check this as the rate varies from shop to shop, the best is just on the corner of the main road (road no4) with a blue front and most open only from 1pm till 9pm. Best and cheapest restaurant is a short walk ( if you come out from Suwan Palm onto the main road no4) turn left and walk about 200mtrs. It is called Ddees and is family run with tasty food and dishes 50BHT.---as compared to 100/120 BHT at the adjacent restaurants . It is just before you reach the hotel The Sands.

It is s Hotel to Stay for s reasonable Price in khao lak. It is a Little Bit tricky to get to the Hotel but ok. For all Tourist You Need a Taxi anywhere.

Bad experience

I choose the hotel because of the location, the room was okay, nothing special. During evening and night alot of noise from driving cars and motorbikes outside. I booked breakfast together with the stay and when i went down to get breakfast they told we had to go to another hotel to eat, they would send a car that would be there after 10 minutes, but after 30 minutes i choose to check out and walk to a restaurant near to eat... I went down 1,5 hour before i had other plans, but only just in last minute i managed to be ready for my appointment. I would have loved they had written in their description regarding breakfast that it was in another hotel. The staff speak very bad English and i would recommend to choose another hotel. Maybe it was just in the lowseason it was bad experience, but i am not willing to try again in high season when i get back. Hotel was far from shops and the amount of restaurants nearby was not alot. There drive almost zero taxi in that area...

Fint hotel til gennemrejse

Hotellet var såmænd fint nok - det ligger dog en del ude fra Kaolak by, så men er afhængig af hotellets shuttlebus. Morgenmaden var kedelig, og der var ingen form for afkøling det sted man sad og spiste det. Alt i alt et fint hotel til en overnatning eller to, men heller ikke mere end det.
