We stayed here in April 2016 for 2 nights. It's in a central location of Taitung, which is good, as it is within walking distance to lots of street shopping, a night market, and a day (cai si cang - veggies market, so like a wet market) market. We stayed here because the weekend that we were here, there was an international marathon of some sort so all the nicer hotels were either booked up or prohibitively expensive. This place was clean but didn't feel that safe and the particular floor we were esp. did not feel as safe. It was very budget-like, so basic, and a bit run down to tell the truth. This was the worst hotel/motel/hostel (min-su) we stayed in during our 18 days in Taiwan on a round-the-island trip, so it was a little more disappointing than other places we stayed for about the same price or just a little more, but overall it was acceptable. The bathroom was older and could use updating, but clean enough. The bedding was a bit worn and the furniture also, but all in all, it was acceptable for a couple of nights stay during a sporting event weekend in Taitung which increased the prices of hotels all over town.
I chose this hotel because of the location and also within my budget. I was alone, therefore I asked the hotel helped me book a taxi for a day tour. Its turned out to be a wonderful one. My driver was very informative, and also drove me to the scenic coast line to explore the places of interest. This hotel with the basic facility. Room was big and quiet, bed was comfortable and with basic toiletry. You need to talk a public transport (bus) and taxi to this hotel. As its not close to the train station. However, this hotel was located at the town side, you are able to access the park. and also nearby the public bus stop. You can take a public bus to the coast line of the places of interest. But, you have to monitor your time of the bus schedule. That was the reason I hired a taxi to drive me around. And this hotel also allow his guests to borrow a bicycle at FOC. The local market was just behind the hotel , its just about 10 minutes walking distance. And many eateries were surrounded the hotel. This hotel did provide the breakfast, but , not a problem. As nearby many local small shops are selling good breakfast. I will be back for my next visiting.
For the price we pay, this is a simple and Ok hotel with everything you can expect from a Budget hotel. The room is considered clean though the furniture is dated. The location is central and staff are friendly. One thing surprised us was that rate on the site was lower than what we booked from web. So, you can just walk in in Low Seasons.
Clean room, bathroom and toilet. Towels, sheets and toiletries changed daily. Rooms are, ofcourse, small given this is a budget hotel and depending on which room you get you may not get a window with a "view" (I am not sure if any rooms have a "view"). A/C works okay; Wifi is free but a bit sketchy ... comes and goes ... No breakfast option but each room has a Hot water kettle for Tea and coffee. My room had a mini fridge too but it wasn't working. Placed centrally, near the night market and major road intersection. This hotel is very close to 7-11 and shopping plazas. The reception provides a map to subway and starbucks, if any one needs :D ...PizzaHut delivery is also available. Please note, very very few people speak english but they are Super helpful. I got lost once and one guy went out of his way (literally) to take me back to my hotel. So make sure to keep a map along side all the time. Thats's it.
My husband and I stayed here for one night and we satisfied with our stay. It is a very cheap hotel so we didn't expect too much from it. It was a small room but it was fine for us as it had everything we needed. Free wifi, clean bed and washroom. The location is in the middle of town which is convenient for everything.
We came here after being shocked by another accommodation nearby claiming to be 4-star in a park but was in fact a house near a road. We reckoned that being budget friendly, this place would not disappoint us too much if it turned out to be another farce. But it didn't. Though it's not spanking new nor modern, it's good quality stuff reminiscent of perhaps your grandparents' home; where everything is aged and used but which are still functional. Basic toiletry, hairdryer, wifi and hot water inside. The mattress is firm but soft while the pillows are too hard for me. Loads of Japanese around the hood plus beauty/personal store Watsons, and fruit stalls, convenience shops and clothes shops. Grab your snacks and breakfast before bedtime as there are no breakfast/resto available here.
The advantages of this hotel: (1) excellent location in city centre of Taitung, easy access to various places; (2) helpful advice and service from afternoon staff. The disadvantages are: (1) the hotel is very very old -- although it is clean, (2) bathroom facilities are poor because there are no shower curtain and you will wet the whole place; towels are thin and useless; (3) the lobby is actually a garage! In other words, there is no restaurant here. (4) the twin rooms are Japanese style which means there are two mattresses and you're almost sleeping on the floor -- not good if you have bad back or knees that do not enable you to kneel. I booked this hotel only because many websites do not have a range of hotels for Taitung.
The hotel is well-located in city centre, close to market, eateries and Ding-Dong bus terminals. The staff were friendly and Ms Carol Huang especially, provided excellent service. We wanted to call our Chishang minsu using the hotel's phone but Ms Huang told us we would not be able to do that with the minsu's phone number and offered her own handphone instead. We are grateful. Such good service attitude deserves to be acknowledged.
I stayed for a night and it was a very comfortable stay. To all the traveler in Taiwan who are looking for a very convenient hotel with a big service, this hotel was a perfect for you. Although this is a small hotel but the service was great. The room was simple, clean and pleasant. And the location was excellent because it is located at the center of the city.
Beware of any reviewer on TA that has only ONE review and multiple helpful votes. All of the times these reviews are written in local language and it is done by someone local to destroy their competition. We stayed here for one night and booked it through Airbnb. Then we went to Orchid island and came back here for two more nights. My husband recently fell down and is temporarily disabled. He is in a wheel chair and walker. I needed a lot of help. Travel Hotel provided me with everything we needed and then some more. Our price was less than US$37 per night. I needed a hotel with elevator, a room close to the elevator, and early check-in. Kevin (a staff who spoke good English) and other staff took care of us like they are our old family friends. He sent a taxi at at the train station with my husband's name and since my husband is temporarily in a wheelchair and walker, he sent the appropriate taxi driver. They welcomed us at the hotel with all the warmth possible, made sure our room was next to the elevator and also made sure it was ready soon after we got in although it was not check in time. They found a plastic stool for my husband to take shower. The room was comfortable, non cluttered, clean and had a window with views of the mountains. Location of the hotel was very good, close to a 100% vegetarian restaurant (we do not eat meat), fruit market and everything else as well. Next morning at 7 AM our taxi and our breakfast were both ready. Take out breakfast had Tuna/egg sandwich and soy milk. It was well appreciated. Yes we are going back there and yes I will recommend this place to everyone. Yes, we indeed went back there and we stayed in a room next to our old room. It is an old hotel but unless you are traveling with your life's belonging there is plenty of room for everything. We are extremely frequent travelers and we know how to travel light. A bit of advice for anyone complaining about the smallness of the room: travel light and you will enjoy every single traveling day that much more. Carrefour supermarket is close by and the revolving sushi place here is good. So is the night market right outside. Kevin's drivers for all our pickups and drop-offs were really good and polite. We had no problem with our wifi in all 3 days and there was always plenty of hot water. The entire hotel is kept clean. It is an inexpensive hotel, so, please do not write stupid comment like, "the hotel is run on cheap". Yes it is and hence you get a cheap rate and we all win.
