No thrills. Tea, coffee, hot water available in corridor. Toothbrushes, razor, and other amenities in bathroom. Wifi worked fine for a 1.5 hour zoom meetng. Met my needs. Opposite a small park. Can jog although route is short; perimetre of park is about 400m, but can go around numerous times. Would stay again.

My stay was amazing, the front desk staff were very helpful and they did everything to make my stay enjoyable. I love that this hotel is within close proximity to the metro station which made getting around a lot easier. The first room I booked was too small for my family but I returned to the same hotel and got a bigger and more comfortable room for the rest of my stay. Please be mindful of room selection while making online bookings.

1. Good location! Lots of stores nearby and near the MRT (about 4-5mins away) 2. Our room (family room) was good enough and clean. 3. There are only 4 sockets in the family room, maybe add more? 4. The mattress and pillows are too hard, very uncomfortable to sleep on. 5. Noisy people in hallway especially in the evening. 6. Room is not soundproof. You can hear what's happening in the next room... (if you know what I mean...)

Bad experience.

Got checked in even before i reach the hotel towels wasnt clean as well as the bed..found blood stain on the blanket hairs on bed. The room i booked been given away and they put me in a 4pax room instead of 2 but request me to change room again in the very next day which i declined. No service recovery was done. Won't be back to sofu

Not a bad place, but beware some of the guests

Front desk staff were very nice and helpful. Unfortunately, some of the guests and people in the nearby area are not only rude, but actively instigate problems. Taiwan has a problem raising its sons to be men, this is evident in their antisocial behavior.

A Great Price comes with a few Trade-Offs

Sofu is a great bargain. Two blocks from the MRT station, you can get to more interesting places in Taipei very conveniently. The location of the hotel is also near great eats if you don't feel like venturing very far. UBER is in Taipei, and some nights I did not feel like taking MRT back. The UBER ride reasonable (~$250NTD/$7USD) and quick. The room is simple, but the bed was comfortable. As is the case in many Taiwanese hotels, none of the mirrors are hung high enough on the wall to use. I'm a very tall man, but you get used to that. Here are a few drawbacks. This is technically a "love hotel." In Taiwan, young adults still live at home, so if you want some intimacy with your significant other, you can't do it at home. You come to one of these hotels and pay a decent fee for a few hours with your honey. I have nothing against the business model, and it never inconvenienced me, but this could be triggering for some western travelers. Secondly, my room did not have air conditioning. It is humid in Taiwan, and an air conditioner works wonders removing excess moisture in the air. There was a strong fan, and it was quite windy outside, so this didn't bother me too much, but if I had been traveling in summer, this would have made for less-than-desirable stay. Also, the room is not serviced daily, so just be aware. An amazing temple is across the street that can be noisy at night. It is brief but loud. Otherwise, this is a great value, and I would stay here again for sure.

Comfortable & Secure

Together with my 2 friends, we stayed in this hotel for 7nights during our CNY holiday. We were delighted on their accommodation for a budget goers like us. This hotel is just 10mins walk towards the MRT with variety of foodshops & storeshops available in the vicinity. And lastly, the staffs are very accommodating and friendly, eventhough we hav language barrier.
