My family went there for a weekday lunch. The set lunch served dim sums with soup and others, it is quite convenient for people to try several little things at one time. The decoration is very beautiful and the service is very friendly. However, you don't want to rush if you want to enjoy the lunch.
I stayed for 3 nights and the service in this hotel is good. This hotel is surrounded with many kinds of restaurant and mini convenient store around. The breakfast is satisfying, they serve american style breakfast beside of local food. Minus point for this hotel is the MRT is a little bit far, the nearest MRT i can be found is Shuanglien station (Red Line).
I stayed for 2 night and I was impressed with service mind of staff because I forgot the camera at the lobby's sofa then the staff sent to me at the airport within 2 hour. I think This hotel is the best for my trip. Thank you for your service again.
Stayed for two nights. My room was not ready as I reached little earlier than check in time. So I requested and they arranged a little early check in for me. Staff were very helpful and can speak English well at reception. Location is good.
Gloria Prince Palace Hotel in Taipei has been one of the best stay-put place i could think of during my stay in Taipei. The hotel is conveniently located so transport via MRT, buses are just a walk away. Even some of the tourist spots such as the Chiang Kai-shek memorial, Taipei 101, Xingshan Hike can be easily reached at from the nearby Shuanglian station. Other than being conveniently located, the hotel is also premised in a historical site which has a Japanese background. So that adds another feather to the hat. Above all, the hotel staff are very helpful and polite. The wonderful front desk team as well as the housekeeping team are very helpful. I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to travel to Taipei.
As a traveller, i might be a little more critically. I chose this hotel by TAMI's references. But actually, this place is not as close as they said to the exhibition hall. Not close to any MRT station, so the best way to travel is only by taxi. The place is so old with no effort at all to upgrade, the TV is LCD, no HD, channels might confusing to access because every time i turn on the TV, it goes to AV, and I always have to change to PC by myself. The air con is central which you can't either lower or higher the temperature. So this March, the temperature is about 11-15 degrees Celsius, so the use heater, and i felt too warm in the bed room, and I talked to the front desk about this, and the give me a fan .... The decoration, the furniture is so old, even the pillow has smells, euwhhhh You could hear sound from the upper level or rooms beside you, even you could hear car passing by at night and i don't feel comfortable to sleep. I even hear the staffs talking with their walkie talkie from my room. But the wifi quite fast for download. For breakfast, they just over you standard breakfast in Chinese style, and a little American Breakfast like bacon, bread and some cheese. The most interesting is they put juicer. So you could make fresh juice for breakfast. Interesting right?
I have just spent six days at this hotel and I have to say it is wonderful. My room was spacious with a very comfortable bed and a view over the streets of Taipei. Breakfast here was great - there is a generous buffet consisting of Asian and western dishes with plenty to choose from. The hotel is situated just 5 mins walk from Shuanglian subway station which I thought was very handy as some of the really big hotels in the city are quite far from the subway. What I particularly love about this hotel is the staff. Everyone is so, so friendly and helpful. I will be returning to the city in October and will definitely be staying here again.
I was a frequent business traveler that stayed in this hotel every time I visit Taipei. But this time will be my last time to stay here. 2 drunkards man tried to FORCE their entry to my room in the middle of the night on Wednesday night! I shouted at them and told them off but they become more violent and started to bang and kick the door continuously. I was so panicked that I quickly called the reception and waited for like 5 bloody minutes while the 2 guys continuously trying to break in. During this waiting time, I called the hotel twice and helplessly waited in my room until the hotel staff came and bought the 2 drunkards back to their room. Then I received a call from the hotel that they were drunk and it was a mistake. That's all. The next morning, I went down to reception to demand for apologies from the 2 guys who tried to break into my room. However, the hotel staff just keep saying it was purely a misunderstanding and they were drunk. What a stupid excuse!!!! First, there was not a single formal apologies from the hotel about this whole incident and there was no guarantee of my safety for staying. Second, the hotel showed the attitude of protecting the 2 Japanese guys and keep giving excuses. Until I got to threaten them about reporting to police then the staff seems to be more serious. This is NOT the way you treat your female guest. Very disappointed with the staff and after the 2 guys came to apologies, the hotel staff did not even came forward to say anything. It's seems to me that this whole saga was non of their business. Such irresponsible service was totally unacceptable! I strongly urged all female travelers not to stay in this hotel which doesn't guarantee the safety of their guest.
Check in process was simple, booked a hotel room for two twin beds and they were surprisingly very comfortable. The rooms were clean and pretty spacious. The location was ten minute walking distance to a local night market. Overall good service, housekeeping did a good job cleaning our rooms daily. Enjoyed our stay in this cozy convenient hotel.
We booked a room for 2 adults and 2 kids. when we checked in, was told that only a room with a double bed; or a room with two Single beds, and to add a child bed costs TW$1000 per night... 4 of us had to sleep in a double bed for 3 nights... Be careful when you booking a room with more that 2 guesses. Never come back again
