Overpriced and underwhelming

Upon arrival the room turned out to not be so clean as there was an empty condom wrapped on the floor. Furthermore, the walls were pretty thin and the other guests and people in the hallways could be heard. You could hear others showering, snoring, talking, etc. The room also included a disappointing breakfast, maybe the worst one I’ve had so far. For the price of the room, I would hope for a much better experience overall, but this is near the bottom of my list.

Cunningly deceptive ads on web! Don’t ever trust the hostels.com’s cheap offer. It can fabricate in a very cunning way. When you realize , it is too late. We ended up paying more.

Clean bed for hostel, they use stairs instead of ladders for the top bunk bed. Shower room ran out of shampoo and body soap the day I arrived. The storage of for the top bunk bed is a the top which is inconvenient for large suitcase.

An affordable hotel, but shared bathroom amenities were badly designed. The hotel is in the fourth floor of a big building. The location is convenient, near the train station and buses. There are a lot of businesses around. There is a convenient store nearby. I stayed in a bedroom that had four beds, two in each bunk. The bed containers were of decent size and had a curtain for privacy. The container height was not too short. To use the light and TV at the bed, you need to leave your key card. This is inconvenient when you need to unlock the locker, which is outside the compartments, because you need to scan the key card there. The bedroom also had a shared compartment for the shower and another compartment for the toilet. I think this design is not a good idea if you do not want to disturb your other roommates. I feel a whole separate unit exclusively for shower and toilet would be much, much nicer. Plus that way you could have a mirror and a table to put your stuff on. In any case, I thought the shower and toilet compartments were too cramped. Also, there was no towel. I was lucky I brought my own. There is no place to hang your stuff dry, so be aware. Also, no soap to wash your hands after using the toilet. For the shower, there’s shower gel and shampoo (no conditioner). The hotel atmosphere within the room hallway is dark, with very low lighting. I feel like it could be brighter. Sharing the room with others could take you out of your comfort zone, especially since

Convenient location away from the crowd

Close to some swanky bistros, Shin Yeh restaurant, the nightlife scene, and Zhongxiao Fuxing train station–which can take you straight to XMD or Raohe night market in under 20 mins. The Double Room is gorgeous, clean and looks nothing like part of a hostel. Beds are super comfy. Overall a pleasant stay and highly recommended.

Overall for the price per night and in comparison with other hostels, this place isn’t bad at all. The bunk beds have a lot of ceiling space but my main issue was that the shower and toilet are integrated to the room with the 8 bunk beds... not so private in that sense! Otherwise great location, friendly staff, it’s a fair deal.

The decor is pleasant and the shower and bathroom is ensuite for the dorm beds. That's a plus and a minus. If your bed is right beside the bathroom, then you might get disturbed by the noise from the flowing water in the pipe. The shelves at the end of the bed provide extra storage space and the bed allows for privacy. It didn't bother me that there are no windows because it means that the room is quieter. The air conditioning might be too strong for some people but it keeps the room well ventilated. Do note that the shower and toilet are very compact. Also, the mrt is very nearby and there are numerous food options around the vicinity. Overall a good stay and I am likely to stay here again.

Booked a room with double bed and park view. Strong humidity and old smell when entering the room. Strange smell of the towels (like it has been washed with white vinegar). The main ventilation of the room is very noisy and cannot be turned off, fortunately we had some earplugs with us. McDonald breakfast. For the same price, there are much better hotels in Taipei.

We rented a deluxe room , the room is spacious for 2 , but unfortunately the room does not came with heater, air con temperature cant be adjusted to our preference as well, breakfast choices are limited. the room seems to be cleaned half way on our 2nd day of stay, feedback to the reception and the hotel stuffs attended immediately. good job! The hotel is near to the zhongxiao fu xing mrt exit, just within 5 minutes walking distance, if you rather prefer a quite place, this could be your choice.

A women only dorm but not a woman only shower !!

The most (badly) surprising is the shared mix shower...no privacy at all. My bunk bed has a curtain gap right over the bathroom door so I get the light whenever someone opens the door which gave me a very bad sleep. The room is nice and clean but the shower/bathroom lacks of cleaning. And impossible to get the wifi connection.

I got to the hostel around 2:30 AM in the morning and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. I was in a shared backpacker's room and space/bedding was decent enough to get a good night's sleep. The shared washrooms were fairly clean. I opted to get the breakfast and it was decent enough value for NT 60. Would recommend for a no-nonsense, no bells and whistle stay in Taiwan!
