Party central if you like that sort of thing (which I don't). Place was absolutely disgusting. I stayed in a 4 bed mixed dorm which to it's credit had an ensuite bathroom. However the bathroom door was so wobbly when you moved it I half expected it to fall off at some point which thankfully it didn't. There were patches in the bathroom where the tiles had the paint chipped off, and the walls outside the room had flakes of paint coming off all over. Not the cleanest place in the world either. Also the fact that on arrival I didn't actually have a pillow case to put on my pillow and had to actually ask for one at reception next morning didn't help

Excellent location, a short walk from main rail station and Canberra bus, equally short walk to central city, historic sites, shopping etc. Lots of good cafes and bars in vicinity. Staff friendly and helpful, and always around. Building is cramped and claustrophobic - narrow stairways, a single operational lift slowly serving 13 floors. Biggest problem was lack of ventilation in dorm room - damp and smelly all the time, hot and stuffy usually. Bathroom attached to room was good.

kitchen is very tiny with most of the stove is broken down. the kitchen is pack full through out the whole day. You have to wait for longer time in order to cook your meal. bed and blanket with disgusting smell. room is very stuffing without fresh air flow. it is better to remove the air-condition to give some fresh air from outside to come in from the only window that blocked by the non functional air-condition. I have been feeling itchy on my skin for two night of staying. I am not sure whats going on but i can't really sleep well. upper bunk bed does not have a proper ladder to go up and you are going to face a high risk of falling down from upper bunk whenever you try to climb up.

Just the worst place I’ve ever been. Been to other hostels, less expensive, that were a lot better. Changed room once because of cockroaches everywhere. The next room was just the same. The smell of mold was terrible. The staff was helpful, polite and always in a great mood. But the place was a mess from top to bottom. Will never stay there again. Hopefully the staff will eventually find better jobs elsewhere. Oh! And also... One elevator broken so took forever to go down or up back to the room. Old and very very noisy ar conditioning. The bed was just extra punishment. But very well located.

Well I will start with it was the cheapest accom I could find for our family in transit on a Saturday night $128 Sydney CBD. I was bracing myself that it would be bad but I never in my wildest dreams expected to be in hotel hell! By far the most disgusting filthy and not fit for human habitat ever. My daughter cried and says she hates me for taking her to such a place (Miss 11) her dad stayed awake all night could not sleep in a bed with mould on the sheets. The doona covers had unknown substances on them and ours had a blood stain just beautiful not! I know it was Halloween celebrations in Sydney but this was too far! Our son (17) slept with a cigarette butt near his head squashed into the wall carpets were putrid so bad we did not remove our shoes tried to sleep in our clothes felt so violated being there I cannot describe just how bad it really is and cannot believe I paid for the experience. Bathroom was disgusting shower was so gross toilet was probably the only clean thing in the room no soap. Mould everywhere in the room dust and grime, carpets so stained and smelly don't think they have been vacuumed for a year the windows filthy with chicken wire on the inside and the smell was putrid. I understand Its a backpackers place with youth there for a good time I hope not a long time but really its exploitation of their desire to explore the world on a shoestring even they shouldn't accept such conditions the place is dangerous building and hygiene wise. Our kids of the world deserve so much better and in saying that they were a friendly bunch on the whole and the reception guy who checked us in was lovely but seriously the place needs a good sanitation inspection it's a cesspool of potential health conditions not to mention the dangerous building the backpackers themselves are renovating not sure if that's up to code? Wood lined elevator hmmm not sure? And the three flights of stairs to haul luggage bit much. Seemed like a seedy area of Sydney I felt safer staying in the cross TBH! What an experience one I never wish to repeat ever! Oh and BTW yes reported concerns but hey they live there too very blase' too busy partying to be worried...

I needed to stay overnight in Sydney but arrived late and was going to leave early. I wasn't looking for anything fancy. West end offered rooms online for $25. However I was still taken back by the mess I walked into. My room smelt as if the roof was leaking for months and none of the occupants had been showering either. Half of the PowerPoint plug-ins did not work. The bed was barely bearable and the room had very poor ventilation. This being said. 24/7 checkout and 4min walk from.central station - it'll do.

Room was filthy and the bathroom was even worse. Looked like it wasnt cleaned in months. The walls were damp and the smell was pretty bad. The only positive parts of this hostel was the location and the staff seemed cool enough.

This is a good budget hostel in Sydney that I've been.. each room had their own toilets and anyone can cook downstairs. Staff were friendly and very welcoming. They also had a room where you can leave your stuff for the whole day after you check out. This was really helpful as I needed to check out at 10 and couldn't checked in at my next place for the next few hours. The hostel was in CBD so it's easy to go everywhere. There's a couple of negative things; bunk beds had no ladders and elevator was taking too long however this is a better hostel than others!

I could just be objective and point one thing that is so obvious and they dont do: let a ladder so people can get to the top bed. Yes, I was there only to sleep and had to get up by stepping what would be the headboard from bottom bed.

A great place to stay in Sydney, close to Darling Harbour if you just want a place to sleep. Double room was basic but ok. Ensuite was across the hall way but we found this was OK as well. Ensuite was clean. Staff were all very welcoming and efficient in check my n and check out.
