Travelodge Hotel Sydney Martin Place

Hotel staff was very nice. Guided me to where I needed to go. Facilitated an early check-in and answered all questions promptly and well.

The Travelodge Phillip Street is centrally located and just two blocks from Hyde Park. Recently refurbished with modern furniture including mini refrig, sink, coffee maker, & micro-wave. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Definitely best value for the money.

It was excellent located, very convenient, clean. It is not luxurious and doesn't have a nice view. But if you are looking at having a very comfortable room, very week located, clean and spacious. This is definitely a good choice.

I wont carry on about how great the staff was-the fantastic location, etc. Let's talk about the outrageous elevator situation. They have only ONE of the only TWO elevators in the entire building in use. But that is the good news. So what, you say, is the bad news? We were in a room on the 8th floor and the "Down button" on the 8th floor "DOES NOT WORK AT THIS TIME" according to the worn and tattered sign taped over it. So by the looks of that sign, "at this time" started a long time ago. So,,, you can't go down, and if you don't get on when it stops on it's way up, it won't stop for you on it's way down because it thinks you want to go up! But that is STILL the good news! So really! What is the bad news you ask? We were going to take the stairs down, but you can't do that either because the stairway door is "for emergencies only and alarm will sound if opened". The other... and worse half of the bad news is that if you finally get a down elevator to stop, if it already has 3 average size people on it, it WILL NOT CLOSE OR BUDGE if you get on.... too much weight! Summary... one elevator... one way (UP ONLY) ... 3 people at a time for an entire building and can't use the stairs!!! Just fix it already!! Wouldn't recommend until they announce that they have 2 working elevators.

- close to downtown - friendly staffs - good price

Great location. Close everything. Accommodations adequate, at best, but nothing special. Resturant mininal. Staff was very helpful. Not a 4 star. Go for the location, not the hotel.

Not four star size, and internal room meant drapes had to be kept closed. But facilities OK.

room is nothing to write home about. room had no view besides another hotel room. street was dark and homeless seemd to flock in the area in the evening. did not feel unsafe and location was central for daytime activities.

Conveniently located in CBD within walking distance of major shopping centers, designer boutiques, scenic attractions and restaurants. Also has access to a fitness centre. Courteous staff who make you feel very welcome.

If you want to be near the Opera House and the harbor, this is the place to be. My only problem was the lack of a comfortable chair to sit on when in the room. The only chair was a hard plastic one.

very central location, bus stops nearby including the FREE city bus ( route 555). Room is very clean, decent coffee & utensils. Your money is well worth here. Staff was nice but lack of knowledge in helping with directions. They missed the wake up call we requested the night before we left the city but we did not miss the flight!

Well located for downtown visitors, this hotel is a good alternative for budget-minded travelers. Our room on the 9th floor was clean and spacious, had a kitchenette and a safe. Windows faced internal alcove, so no view. Desk clerks were friendly and accommodating, allowing us to place our bags behind the desk while we walked around town after checking out. Hotel restaurant had good breakfast. Downtown Sydney is an expensive stay, but there are lots of local attractions nearby. Altogether, a good experience.

We needed a place to stay before going on a cruise and the Travelodge was perfect. It is a 10 minute ride on the train and an easy 1/2 block walk from the train station. There is a convience store 2 doors away and a McDonalds within walking distance. It is a short walk from our hotel to the Circular Quay where our boat was so the location was perfect. Our room was quiet and clean and we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. It was a little pricey but so is everything else in Sydney.

Stayed 17 days, very good & convienient accommadations. However, housekeeping was not good and had to be recalled severial times for different reasons.

Staff at the hotel were very friendly and super helpful. Responsive to our needs and requests.
