This hotel is frightening. If I had not already paid for the room, I would have walked out and gone elsewhere. The room felt like the housekeeping had forgotten about it for awhile. There was dust on the surfaces including the headboard of the bed. Large burn marks on the carpet and the curtain. The bathroom made me question how much I really wanted to shower, even though I had just come off of an international flight. Something green grew on the underside of the faucet. The towels were rumpled (had they been used before??). Moving on from hygiene, the beds were just not comfortable. It was a very old model with the springs digging into my body all night. Despite it currently being winter, the blanket was thinner than the one I use in summer, and the heater is a tiny wall unit that is woefully useless. I was grateful that their shuttle system messed up my booking and had to take me to the airport 3 hours earlier than I had scheduled, since I did not want to stay longer than necessary at this hotel.

Was ok with everything until the staff let a woman that I do not know up to my room, she caused me & my visitor a lot of trouble, when I asked for her to be removed from the hotel & grounds, they only told her she could not go up to my room. This woman continued to verbally assault me & was still allowed to stay on the grounds ( she was not a guest.) I will NOT use this hotel ever again. I'm still wondering why she was allowed up to my room without at least a phone call asking if it was ok, or why the police were not notified of this woman harassing me.

Great location right beside chinatown and a close walk to Darling Harbour (and from the Harbour you can take the ferry to Circular Quay the main ferry station). Also close to bus stop and to the Central rail & bus station. Clean, comfortable. Wifi only availble in lobby though- only complaint. Everything else was great. Good no-frills hotel, good quality for the price.

Easy to get around. Perfect location. Very safe. Perfect for the value.

Stayed at Aspire Mar 17-21, 2014. It is approx 20 min walk to Darling Harbour. The hotel is dated, but cleaned every day and no shortage of hot water for showers! If your on a budget and don't mind the 20 min walk this is a hotel to consider. Dave from Fort Frances, Canada

Good place to stay if your looking for that quick cheap get away close to city nothing to do at the hotel but close enough to darling harbour and market city.

I stayed here for 10 days while in Sydney for a conference at the convention center. It was very reasonably priced compared to any other hotel nearby, and for the price it was perfectly fine. It's within a 10 minute walk to both the central station and Darling Harbour, but is in a very quiet residential area right next to the pretty UTS campus and a small park. The room was kept clean and I had a nice balcony. But it's an older hotel and shows its age; the elevators were noisy and slow, for example, and walls were a bit thin; this bothered me a lot on my first night but I quickly got used to it. My main complaint was that the wifi is expensive ($10/day) and is only guaranteed to work in the lobby, and in fact did not work in my room. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise; I decided to forego wifi and instead buy a little Wifi modem from a wireless company in the nearby mall. This cost me only $80 and then I had internet access wherever I went throughout the city, including in the hotel. So this hotel is probably not for the most discerning tastes, but I'd recommend it for people looking for a convenient, reasonably-priced place to stay.

Staff does not the area very well. Thought the added charge for a credit card was tacky. Should include it in the room price! Only brekfast available there.

The room was way below average and the A/C unit makes a loud noise, many things were wrong. Unfriendly cleaning staff and front desk has no information about any thing that a traveller may need. Terrible mistake of selecting this place. Prior reviews was a big part on my decision and so I am writing this for future customers not to spend even one minute in thinking about this hotel. There is not one thing that is good. I am not going to list everthing that was wrong since it will be a very long list.

The hotel is good for the price with friendly stuff, close to dwtn

We stayed at the Aspire in Dec. 2010 for 2, pre-cruise nights. This hotel is a 5 minute walk to Paddy's Market and to a monorail station. It is within walking distance of Darling Harbour. The Aspire does not have free WIFI but, McDonalds, that does offer free wireless access is a short walk away across from Paddy's Market. The Aspire front desk personnel were very accomodating and polite. The room had a fridge.

We stayed 3 nights in Sydney and this hotel was excellent to explore the city, beaches and Blue mountain(just take an easy train). The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was large and well equipped, bed made but not change bed sheet daily. Overall, the hotel is in an excellent location with low cost. Minutes away from interesting areas, and 15 minutes from Central Station.

Excellent location. Rooms were good for the money. All amenities cost extra.

We stayed for a walk-around and relieve jet-lag and the area was easy to walk.

The hotel is in an excellent location. Minutes away from interesting areas, and 10 minutes from Central Station, the hub of the transportation system. The hotel is very clean. The staff could be a little more efficient: they frequently forgot to give wake-up calls, for example. However, that was a minor point compared to the positives of the location and the price.

We stayed 5 nights in Sydney and this hotel was an excellent base to explore the city and beaches. It is close to a metro station. It is a 12 minute walk to Darwin harbour. Dining, imax, ferry, aquarium, wildlife world, maritime and powerhouse museum, chinese garden of friendship, paddy's market are all in walking distance. We used the ferry, metro, train, tram, bus, taxi for all other Sydney sights. It is a wonderful city to visit. The hotel has also long term residents. Bus tours wil pick you up from here. The airport shuttle is $12 aus, enjoy we did.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was large and well equipped but the bathroom was poorly cleaned. The doors to the rooms creaked and squeaked when people went in or out. The sheets and towels were decent. It is within walking distance to Paddy's Market, and Darling Harbour.

Wi-fi is not working as upper floor (4th floor) Bed made but not change bedspreads daily Daily carpet vacumm were not done
