A beautiful boutique hotel in a great central position. King size room with everything we needed. An excellent value breakfast in the morning too. On our welcome we were told about the lounge and sherry and port to help ourselves to, what a lovely touch. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone.
I had a great two night stay. The reception staff were warm and friendly, and the room was clean. The bed was comfy and I liked being able to sit outside on the room's balcony. The location was excellent- the street is quiet and leafy yet the hotel was so close to the city. The hotel felt like a home away from home. I'd definitely stay again.
Arriving at the Hotel we were courteously shown our room. On entering the hallway we were met with an overpowering smell of mold. This was all throughout the Hotel and as everyone is very aware "Exposure to mold can cause health effects in some people. Mold spores are always found in the air we breathe, but extensive mold contamination may cause health problems. Breathing mold can cause allergic and respiratory symptoms". On questioning the receptionists about thesmell it was revealed that the Hotel has had a water problem and they are yet to replace the carpets etc. My partner was immediately effected and it was evident that we could not stay at The Hotel This Hotel is obviously operating aware it is exposing a health risk to guests We were then left in a position to try snd find alternative accommodation for Easter
Really enjoyed our stay here, hotel is clean, very comfortable and very quiet. Bed was extremely comfortable and breakfast area is really quaint. Handy to train station and a much better option than staying in Sydney CBD. Will stay again.
well run small private hotel in a beautiful old Victorian house . Well positioned in a quiet street in busy north Sydney. Parking in the street is easy even when the parking at the hotel itself is full. rooms are of generous size and well appointed. breakfast is fresh and perfectly adequate though not exciting. Managers are very friendly and helpful well run accommodation. we were not disappointed and we will be back
I recently stayed at the Mc Larren for a 4 night stay and have to say I was most impressed. The place was a gorgeous, boutique old style hotel. Very clean and kept pristine. My room was cleaned daily without a miss. My bed was like sleeping on cotton wool, my first night I crashed and awoke feeling refreshed. The staff are friendly, the prices very reasonable. I cant recommend this hotel enough. 15 min walk to train station . Coles close by and overall a gem find. Ideal for couples, families, and singles. Compared to the other big hotels nearby The McLarren is worth every cent :D Would def stay again . :D An enjoyable stay ! Katrina W :D
Enjoyed our stay here which was quite central to CBD via metro which was a 10min walk away. Good value in comparison with other accommodation in the area. Clean comfortable rooms with all you need. Breakfast ok if continental suits you, also ok at the price.
Attending a wedding in North Sydney and my wife has stayed here before so we booked three rooms. I was pleasantly surprised with the size of the rooms, off street parking and the friendly staff. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very quiet during the night. There is a School next door so weekdays carries the normal amount of noise that one should anticipate. We went out for breakfast but the continental one at the hotel looked very appealing for only $8 each. Would highly recommend this place to stay even if your staying in the city as there is plenty of transport in close proximity. In conclusion friendly, clean, comfortable and all at a reasonable price.
Stayed for a few nights to attend a nearby function in North Sydney. This hotel is just great. Convenient location, plenty of restaurants around, or they offer order -in or simple snacks prepared in minutes. Breakfast was good. Staff were super friendly and obliging, rooms were a good size and very clean and comfortable, we had a King room. Surprising the number of rooms for a small street front. Other friends who stayed here also enjoyed the stay.
Overall rating-- good hotel Location -- It is next to Berry street in North Sydney where most of the offices are situated. its a converted house into a Guest house Price- on the higher side but most of sydney hotels are expensive Comfort - bed was queen side and comfortable Room - Rooms are smaller in size. Had taken only room Service & Facilities- Had not used much services but room was clean and checkin quick. Breakfast on cold American style Try to get in early in evening otherwise carry the main entrance keys
