Hello. I love your hotel. So well priced and great location and free parking is fantastic. I’ve stayed here many times. This time I was disappointed. The room was incredibly basic. The door was damaged on the inside that looked terrible. The power point in the bathroom didn’t work. I must say that blankets are a thing of the last. Not nice to think so many people have slept in that blanket. Bed spreads are out of the 80’s. Just a few little thinks can make a big difference. Lovely hotel and great value otherwise.
After travelling for nearly 24 hours, we were delighted that we were let into our room before the stated check-in time. The room was spacious and very clean. Good wi-fi reception. We didn't make use of the dining room, so can't comment on that. Nice safe neighborhood to walk in, but not much of a selection of eating places near at hand. Would stay again if every back to Sydney.
We spent 5 nights here. The room we had was right next door to the reception and kitchen. This unfortunately meant we heard a lot of noise. This is our only gripe about this place. The staff were great. We had a good breakfast at $9NZD in a lovely bright room. The hotel is close to public transport-5 minutes walk. It is situated in a residential street with some lovely art nouveau houses. We from there walked over the bridge which took 15-20 minutes. Great photo opportunity. Don't miss the Rocks area at the other side. This is a beautiful property and if we visited Sydney again would return but ask for a different room. Wi-Fi cost $5 for our stay.
We found this hotel to be great value considering it is only a short train ride away from the CBD. Although the room was smaller than the one that was pictured we were still pleased as it was well appointed and had everything we needed.
Quant little boutique hotel Lovely sunny breakfast room and a nice lounge to site of an evening to read the papers and partake in a complimentary port or sherry Highly recommended for both business and pleasure Rooms are quiet and have ensuite bathrooms
Spent a week here and really enjoyed it. We had a big ground floor room with a small patio. The room was well equipped, nicely furnished and very clean. The mattress was extremely comfortable. We arrived early but they rearranged our booking so that we could have a room right away. The staff were very pleasant and friendly. We had the breakfast most of the time and then ate out over the weekend. The hotel is located in a quiet area of north Sydney, close to buses and trains. Within a block there is plenty of shopping. We were just ahead of the high season rates so the prices were reasonable, but still high by North American prices. It's a great place and if we come back to Sydney we will stay there again.
Good size room comfortable bed with good features, décor in old Sydney , for a small fee continental breakfast in a nice sunroom setting, Staff excellent even carried our suit case up stairs, Have off street parking but I have a dual cab and found access too tight , street parking ok but beware of parking after 8 am week days you get pinged as a school is near
A great alternative to staying right in Sydney. Located in North Sydney close to public transport to get you into Sydmey. Nice period hotel in very good condition. Very comfortable and mostly quiet except for the inevitable banging of door in the morning from guest leaving earlier than the time you want to wake up. Limited free parking on site but plenty of street parking available
Lovely hotel just outside of Sydney away from the crowds and the noise. It has a colonial feel and decor to it although the facilities are all modern and clean. There is air conditioning, a kettle and basic toiletries. There is no safe and there is no lift so large cases need to be schlepped upstairs. The staff were very helpful and accommodating and allowed us to leave our cases there between stays. Only quibble is that there is no free wifi and in this day and age that is not really acceptable in a hotel.
A real gem if you want to escape the crowds and enjoy some peace and tranquility. Stayed here overnight with my family following a recommendation from a friend. We had 3 rooms - all lovely and spacious. Such a refreshing and relaxing change from the large, impersonal corporate hotels. We received an exceptionally warm welcome from the staff who could not do enough for us. As we were returning to the UK the following day we needed to leave our bags at the hotel and this was no problem at all. We really enjoyed sitting out on the terrace and relaxing before our long journey home. Thank you so much to the staff at the McLaren - you made us feel so welcome and you were extremely accommodating. A real gem of a boutique hotel and a great location.
