Loved my stay here. Nice little room with a kettle, fridge and tv, good aircon and nifty little alarm clock. Breakfast was a highlight (definitely do your research about this breakfast before you go) and i felt very well looked after.
Helpful friendly staff. Comfortable, well appointed room quiet, secure location, close to the ferry wharf in one direction and North Sydney Pool and Kirribilli shops in the other. Excellent breakfast. very clean excellent value for money
We come to Glenferrie twice a year from Port Macquarie to visit our children who live in Sydney. We love the ease of getting there on the ferry The place is always clean and the staff very friendly. We prefer to say on the main floor because we are older and it is difficult for us to carry our cases upstairs but if we do go upstairs the staff are only too willing to carry our cases The wonderful free breakfast and Wi Fi are certainly a bonus. The shared bathrooms are not a problem. The showers are lovely and hot and shower gel shampoo and conditioner are provided free. certainly recommend to all our friends
Our stay was lovely. The whole place is very clean. It's in a great location, just a 3 minute walk to the ferry & a beautiful coffee place on the water called Celsius. Breakfast was great & the staff was very nice. Our only issue was that we were not given the roomtype that was advertised to us. It should have been MUCH bigger. Our room was tiny with barely enough room on the balcony for one person. However we only stayed one night & we had just arrived straight from a 17 hour flight so basically went straight to bed. If we would have stayed longer the incorrect room would have been more of an issue. Anyways, I'd certainly give this place another try. It's a really beautiful property!
I've been to this hotel after i went to backpack hostels. What is it nice quiet. The rooms are beatiful and licht. Yes, you must walk to the other side of the bridge or take the ferry to see something but that is the price you must take if you want a good night sleep. The only problem is. You can only eat outside your diner. They serve only breakfast.
This is my second visit to this hotel! Perfect as always! Breakfast is tasty, plenty to choose from, from cereal to eggs and bacon, beans, juice... ... You can take your breakfast and sitting in the garden. Location was excellent. Room was updated and well maintained. Stayed for the week and was able to get around easily.
Had a lovely stay in a comfy room. Found it very good value and the staff friendly and helpful. Fantastic location and nice surroundings with great outside gardens and easy transport options. Really nice breakfast with lots of choices. Would highly recommend this lovely place to families/couples or even wonderful for business travellers. Make sure you book ahead as it's a very popular spot.
Excellent Locaton and Great Staff! This hotel located within 4 minutes walk to Kirribilli Wharf, we took the ferry to Circular Quay and enjoyed the beautiful view of Sydney Habour. Only 10 minutes walk to Milsons Point station. Easy to go anywhere. Again, great staff and customer services. The breakfast is beautiful, with lots of variety. A must try when you stay with hotel. A good value for money!
On arrival we paid and entered our room. One of the guests in our room immediately went into the ensuite to use the toilet only to find it was not bolted down to either the floor or the wall. We reported this with 15 minutes to reception. The toilet was not fixed by the time we left the room Saturday morning. At 10:30pm One of guests from the room went out to reception to complain about the 20 French guests congregated outside in the hallway. The receptionist did not speak to Brooke nor did she address the guests. The noise from these guests was still going on at midnight, and through the wee hours of the morning. 4/8/17 At approximately 7:30am I went to reception to complain about the lack of sleep we had the previous night and that I expected more from the staff. I asked to be compensated for the issue. I suggested that appropriate compensation would be that we would not be moved rooms on the Saturday. On departure at 8:50am the receptionist advised me he had done as I asked and made it so that we no longer had to change rooms on the Saturday. Present for this conversation was 3 other people staying with me. We questioned the receptionist as to why a Bunny rabbit would have been in room 44 and we were advised the lodge is pet friendly. 5/8/17 At 10:37am I received 4 back to back phone calls from the lodge. (I did not answer as I was attending a business conference). I left my conference to return the call only to be spoken to with no respect at all being told I was to check out of room 42, as per my booking. I advised of the situation that had occurred on the Thursday night and that the receptionist had advised me on Friday morning that I would not have to move. I was then yelled out telling me to check out of the room that the receptionist does not remember having this conversation with me. When I refused to return immediately to check out the receptionist hung up on me. I returned to my business conference only to receive a further 6 back to back phone calls. I again left my conference to return the calls. Only to be created by the same conversation. One of the rooms guests rang the lodge only to be talked over and not allowed to speak. (Extremely rude service) I will send through in a separate email a screen of the missed calls from your staff. At approximately 8:30pm we arrived to Glennferrie only to be greeted by the same receptionist I had complained to on the Friday morning. He immediately looked at me and stared " I am sorry Mame I do not remember having that conversation with you" My question being out of 4 women that walked in the door how did he know it was me that he "did not have the conversation with?" He proceeded to tell us our possessions had been moved without our permission and that he had taken photos of our belongings before doing so. I was reimbursed $200 which I told him was not sufficient! I have never been spoken to with such disrespect and treated so terribly but also missed over an hour of my business conference that I had flown down from Queensland for. I will never gain the information missed by being outside in the phone dealing with a situation that was by no means my fault. I was contacted by the Chief executive officer 2 weeks after our stay. He has offered us one nights stay in another premises to make up for what we endured. Why would I spend over $600 in flights to use a one night stay? That is not only insulting but an expense to myself. I have also been asked to remove all reviews on here and other social media sites. This company obviously has no concern for the breach of privacy of its guests or concern for how their guests are treated by staff. When I advised that phone contact is not my best form of contact the chief executive officer continues to try to ring me. Very annoying when you are trying to resolve an issue.
It's been renovated since my last visit. Not like the Block but tastefully and its clean. Conveniently located for walking (5.2km walk to Hyde Park), driving, ferry access to the CBD. Stairs and hills feature prominently.
