I stayed at glenferrie lodge for one week over Xmas.ive never stayed here before. The only thing I would suggest is to have some water in the rooms.maybe some bottled water.and keep the kettles topped up.i had to take the kettles to the wash rooms for water it didn't really worry me.i saw some other people filling there kettles in the washrooms as well.overall most of the staff very friendly but there was one chap not quite so. The breakfast was excellent.l would visit again.john Bruce.
First of all I have to say I have never stayed at this type of facility before where you share the bathroom so my judgement may be skewed. When I first arrived to the lodge I was giving this room which faced the street. This room obviously was pretty noisy and given that it was right next to the laundry room I felt there was no privacy. I asked the front desk to switch rooms which they did the following day. I was given a room on the 3rd floor. What a difference! Noise level went from 10 to 3. Given that it was next to the back stairs it was a bit noisy at night. Bathrooms on the 3rd floor were much better too. Cleaner and bigger... still I feel that with little effort they could improve the bathrooms. Location was perfect. 2 blocks away from the ferry which takes you straight to Circular Key. I stayed for 6 nights and got late some of them and felt safe all the time. Considering the other options in near locations I'd say money wise this place may be the best but if you never shared bathrooms before I would reconsidered and look somewhere else.
Great place to stay in Sydney. Perfect location in picturesque Kirribilli, within easy walking distance of the ferry, or bus/train. Warm, friendly service. Clean rooms, and great wifi. Highly recommended.
Single night here for work at short notice with very few choices in Sydney. Reading all the good reviews I get that this is a good budget option in a great location and the breakfast is great value for $10 (full buffet). But I felt like I was either on a school excursion or at a hostel. It is definitely advertised as having shared bathrooms but be aware it’s all unisex (at least on the floor I was on) and the shower was a shocker (alternated between scalding and freezing). My room was very basic and to be kind...cosy. If you have heavy bags or mobility issues be aware that there are a lot of stairs. I wouldn’t say avoid this place but be prepared for what you are getting.
I am a regular here. It's clean, comfortable, convenient, relaxing and always a pleasure to stay! It's right in the hub of everything. Close to trains, buses and ferries. Convenient access to Milsons Point, North Sydney, St Leonards, Chatswood, Circular Quay, the City right through to Bondi if you haven't your own vehicle. Trains also go directly to both domestic and international airports from Town Hall. There are also numerous restaurants to dine out or take away in Kirribilli (only a 10 min stroll up the street). Street parking is limited I would highly recommend walking! Your room has a small fridge, coffee/tea making facilities, storage for clothing, tv, alarm clock, safe, towels, umbrella, and very comfortable beds! There is a laundry with washers, dryers and an iron with ironing board, complimentary unlimited wi-fi (which actually works!) available 24/7, large garden with playground for the kids and small pets. Full continental breakfast includes - eggs (fried, scrambled and boiled), bacon, veggies, hash browns, sausages, baked pototoes, oats and occasionally pancakes and spring rolls. Juices, coffee (full cream, skim and soy milk are available), cereals, fruit, yoghurt, bread (raisin, white, multigrain, wholemeal) with butter and condiments (honey, penut butter, vegemite etc.) and commercial toaster. They also have a vending machine with the usuals as well as snacks (packet noodles, biscuits and soft drinks) in the dining area for purchase. And finally, the staff - fom reception to the cleaners to the staff in the kitchen, everyone here are wonderful and super friendly. Soloman, Sai and Vjay always go above and beyond to ensure you have a memorable stay and make you feel right at home. They are the very definition of what it means to provide good customer service, thank you for always making me feel so welcome every time!
This bed and breakfast is clean and comfortable and well kept. Our room had a tv, a kettle, many outlets and things to sit your luggage on. The shared washroom and shower facilities are all in private rooms and are well cleaned and have body wash, shampoo, conditioner and hooks for you to use. The optional breakfast buffet is well worth the 10 dollar price with an assortment of good breakfast foods. The hotel is in a great location. It is a 45min walk to Circular Quay (with easy access to the bridge pedestrian walk with some great views), about a 10-15min walk to Milson's Point transit station, and a 3min walk to the Kirribilli ferry wharf which is only 6min to Circular Quay and runs at least once per hour and uses the Opal card (and costs about $6 per trip). The hotel is located in a safe suburban residential area. The hotel does not have an elevator (lift). This presents a challenge if you have heavy luggage. So, be prepared to lift your luggage up 20 steps to reach the front door, another 20 steps to get to the next floor, and another 20 steps to get to the top floor. I found that the concierge desk could have done more to assist guests with carrying up their luggage. Concierge is open until 10:30pm. Overall, a clean and comfortable stay in a great location for a reasonable price.
Only 6 minutes ferry ride from Circular Quay then a 5 minute walk to this boutique lodge. Excellent location not far away from the busy city and friendly staff. Kirribilli village is about a 10-15 minute walk with excellent restaurants, coffee shops and fabulous pub. We enjoyed a very comfortable queen room with trendy furnishings on the top floor (with two balconies !) and a small view of the harbour. The buffet breakfast in the quaint dining room and other lovely outdoor areas (front balcony, back garden area with small view of the bridge) was a huge spread of everything you could think of for a hearty start to the day. We would certainly stay again.
Loved my stay here. Nice little room with a kettle, fridge and tv, good aircon and nifty little alarm clock. Breakfast was a highlight (definitely do your research about this breakfast before you go) and i felt very well looked after.
Helpful friendly staff. Comfortable, well appointed room quiet, secure location, close to the ferry wharf in one direction and North Sydney Pool and Kirribilli shops in the other. Excellent breakfast. very clean excellent value for money
We come to Glenferrie twice a year from Port Macquarie to visit our children who live in Sydney. We love the ease of getting there on the ferry The place is always clean and the staff very friendly. We prefer to say on the main floor because we are older and it is difficult for us to carry our cases upstairs but if we do go upstairs the staff are only too willing to carry our cases The wonderful free breakfast and Wi Fi are certainly a bonus. The shared bathrooms are not a problem. The showers are lovely and hot and shower gel shampoo and conditioner are provided free. certainly recommend to all our friends
