Absolutely disgraceful. Your staff photographed my personal belongings on their mobile phones! Illegal !!! Complete invasion of privacy. Night staff who just blankly stare at you and wont speak. Having 20+ people carrying on outside our room at 10:30pm at night, complaining to night staff who did NOTHING not even speak to us or the noisemakers. After complaining in the morning we got told we wouldnt have to change rooms for our 3rd night so could stay in our family room for the duration of our stay as an apology get we get called 10+ times to GET OUT ans move to another room on the Saturday. We were at a business function and dealt with your incredibly rude staff for well over an hour. They packed our belongings and moved our room while at our conference and photographed all our personal belongings on their mobile phone which he showed us when we arrived that night to a new room. He has no recollection of promising us to stay in the family room. A convo that happened 24hrs prior right in your foyer. 4 of us stood there shocked as he pretended to know nothing of his promises and as he showed us pictures of our personal items on his mobile phone. When stuck on the phone during our work conference to your staff for well over an hour they shouted and spoke over us constantly demeaning us. I kept saying plz stop talking. Plz let me speak. Plz stop. As he went on shouting at me over and over again. It ended Saturday night with us findinf the photos, our items in a laundry basket dumped in a new room and me screaming at your front desk staff for being absolutley out of line, lying and insisting he had never spoken to be before. Every year we hold a a local conference in kirrabilli and have around 50+ people stay with you. NEVER EVER AGAIN. Oh and our toilet was neither bolted to the floor or the wall and despite complaints NOTHING was done. It rocked and crashed about. Absolutely rediculous.
This lodge was amazing for the money we paid, I wasn't expecting much coming in. We had spotless rooms, a bar fridge in the room meaning we could get our own food and use the kitchen to heat or cook dinners to save money, tv in the room. Small room was fine for price and sleeping. Again wasn't expecting much with the shared bathroom, expecting them to be public cubical style but again I was surprised by beautiful bathrooms always clean and modern and hot water which surprised me for every shower! We had our breakfast included which was amazing better than any high class chain hotel breakfast! So much selection and food coming out constantly, really recommend paying extra for the food. The only downside I would say was that the staff weren't as friendly as I would of liked on check in and check out, very minimal eg; room 12, here are keys, thankyou is about all we could get out of them.
While VIVID was the highlight for the week, a visit to Glenferrie Lodge just makes the package deal so much more enjoyable. Staff are so friendly and helpful, home style breakfast, cosy and comfy rooms, close proximity to ferry and rail. Short walk to explore Kirribilli Village with a range of eateries. Also something to explore. Thanks to all.
Me and my girlfriend have been staying there over the weekend and I must say I did not expect it to be that good! The rooms are very nice and tidy. The hotel got a great ambiance and friendly staff. Great Hotel for a great price ! We will be back. Thank you Guys
Stayed here with my wife and 2 kids for a one night. We were given room right on the entrance of the building. I am sensitive sleeper and I can hear noises from people coming in and of the building. All slept well except me. Breakfast was nice. Definitely good value accommodation but even without the noise I would spend extra and sleep in 4 or 4.5star hotel. Good value accommodation. Make sure you ask to be away from the entrance of the building. It can get disturbing.
Once again (for the 5th time) we have used Glenferrie Lodge for our Sydney stay during the Vivid festival. Reception service is friendly and responsive. Rooms are smallish, but well appointed with TV, and tea/coffee making facilities. Bed was comfortable and air con was good. WiFi (free) speed was adequate. Shared shower/toilets seems to work well (for us) and I did not have to wait for shower at any time. There are plenty elsewhare in the Lodge if needed. Bathrooms are very clean, body wash soap, shampoo, conditioner provided and showers good. Buffet breakfast is generous and quality is good. All in all, this Lodge represents good value to us, and we recommend to all our friends.
This is a magnificent area to stay in and brilliant fun to catch the ferry from the Quay to arrive. We had an amazing ensuite double room. Bathroom was beautiful. My friend had a shared single. Her bathroom was right out her door - so simple. We enjoyed sitting in the sunny back garden watching the magpies. We loved the reasonably priced banana bread and coffee for arvo tea. But the next days breakfast was what sealed the deal. Omg. I've stayed all over the world in flash 5 star hotels but this breakfast was as good if not better than what you're expect at the Sofitel or similar. Amazing Can't wait until we return.
Stayed here one night and cant recommend it enough. Location is terrific and easy to walk to from the train station. Its just a short ferry over to the Rocks for a fabulous night out. The room is just what you need and the beds super comfortable. The shared bathroom was clean and easy to get to. The staff are lovely. For inexpensive accommodation that includes a decent hot breakfast and free wifi you cant go wrong.
Stayed here for three nights in a standard double room in April and expectations were definitely exceeded. Looked like a nice venue online, but for such a cheap price given the location, was not expecting much! Lovely setting and gorgeous garden. Room was small but comfortable, shared bathroom was not a problem as it seemed to be a 2:1 ratio and our section was fairly quiet. Walking distance to great restaurants, cafes and only a couple of minutes to the ferry! We had the included breakfast, which was excellent. Room was a little bit noisy, but didn't affect sleep at all.
We stayed at Glenferrie Lodge last June and had a wonderful time. The location is terrific since it is fairly quiet. It is about a 20 minute walk from the Milson's Point station (first stop after crossing the Harbor Bridge) but that provided good exercise for us each day (only the day that we arrived and the day that we left when we had to take our luggage with us did the walk seem difficult). We also took the ferry to Circular Quay a few times (only about a 2 minute walk from the hotel) but that was more expensive so we used the ferry selectively. The room was on the top floor and there was no lift but again the exercise of climbing stair was fine with us (we preferred the room that we had on the top floor to a room that we were offered on a lower floor). It was clean and had a television, refrigerator, coffee making supplies, and multiple USB plugs in the room. We had to use a shared bathroom but rarely had to wait to use the showers or toilets/sinks. The staff was always friendly and helpful (even taking a message for us from someone who found our lost wallet containing a room key with the hotel name on it). The breakfast each morning was delicious and was a great way to start the day. Overall a very pleasant experience staying there; would stay again if we are able to get back to the Sydney area.
