Very nice room a king harbour room very comfortable bed every thing you could want for a decadent over night stay breakfast was anything you could possibly want with the best made to order omelette you’ve ever tasted nothing to complain about from the time we arrived till the time we left .
My husband and I recently stay at the Astral Tower and Residences for our anniversary and we’re really taken away with all that it had to offer! We were upgraded to a Harbourview room and it was truely breathtaking! Views of the city and harbour. My only negative was that there was no full length mirror in the room and the bathroom was quite cramped. Will definitely put Astral Towers on the list for our next weekend getaway! Thank you for making our weekend so amazing
I stayed here for my anniversary and i was SO WELL LOOKED AFTER! =] Upon check-in I was COMPLIMENTARY UPGRADED TO A SUITE - YAAAAAAAS =] Later in the evening I was gifted with some beautiful fresh fruit and sparkling water which was great for such a warm day and what made that extra special was being given a hand written note from the manager on duty giving me best wishes and should I need anything during my stay not to hesitate to contact staff. The view was incredible and the next morning my partner and I were able to lounge around the outside pool and soak up the sun! I really had an incredible stay here and I could ask for any better service, cleanliness, a soft warm bed and all around hospitality! I was treated like a queen! So many thanks!!! xxx
There should be a disclaimer to advise if you want to actually see Darling Harbour, i.e. a Harbour View room that you need to be above level 9. Upon checking in Tayla was very helpful and lovely. I bagged a free upgrade to a suite as it was my Birthday and Tayla also sent up a bottle of bubbly, which was unexpected and gratefully received. The suite was spacious with seperate bed and lounge areas. The decor was pleasing, and the Room was very clean. I initially thought the tables hadn't been cleaned, but on further inspection it was water stains, so not the best material on some of the surfaces for a hotel. NEGATIVES: The mini bar has pressure sensors, so you cannot store anything of your own in there. No view on Harbour side below level 9, just a very large structure right outside the window Wait for lift was sometimes quite long Really needed a guest information book in room. There was a food menu, but the book on how to use gadgets in the room, numbers to dial, hotel services, how to book spa, or organise clothes pressing, what was happening in the hotel/casino, where to get ice from etc... was missing A map can be obtained at Concierge, but no information on what was happening at the hotel, i.e. happy Hours. POSITIVES: The bath design meant two people could take a bath without one being squashed against a tap. Reasonably priced valet parking, with quick service. Attentive staff Proximity to food courts and Casino Being able to connect your mobile device up to the TV's and music centre. Although there was a Bose speaker in the bathroom ceiling, but I could not work out how to get any music through this. Free WiFi. Cleanliness Room Quietness Lights, blinds, privacy request are all controlled by various pads around the rooms.
Stayed here on the Saturday during the Australia Day long weekend. Booked a 1 bedroom harbour view suite which was very spacious and comfortable. We were checked in by Simone who was very professional and also helpful and also noted that it was our anniversary and congratulated us. Our room was located in Astral Residence which was all the way on the other side of the casino. The only problem with staying at the Astral Residence was that one lift was working only and that it takes up to 10 minutes to wait for it to come down or go up. Most of the time during the day when you had to either go up or down the lift would be so cramped you're literally pushed up against someone which was uncomfortable. We were located on level 6. Requested for a higher room but due to us checking in late we weren't able to get anything higher as everyone else had already checked in. The room was very spacious and clean. A gentleman came up and gave us a fruit platter and a bottle of sparkling water for us the front desk had organised for our anniversary. The bed was very comfortable and the downside of the bathroom was that it was abit too small and claustrophobic. Also, ther should be more bins provided throughout the apartment and bottled water should be complimentary in all rooms. One downside was that I had trouble ringing reception really late at night. I was on hold for over 7 minutes and eventually I hung up because I did not want to wait any longer as it was late. I tried to call the operator one more time and asked to be transferred to reception, then finally someone picked up. Overall, I had a pleasant stay and the room was very spacious and clean. Service was also attentive and I will be back.
Rooms are refurbished very tastefully although quite small. Bathroom was great! Room service was quick and restaurant quality. Downside was reception not allowing me to validate my ticket so was charged $85 for parking for one night. Still waiting a month later for the refund...
Five star stay in early January costing about $1000 for 3 nights being peak season. Stayed in the standard room. Excellent facilities. We spent some time in the pool area, being in the middle of summer. Will definitely come back again.
Astral tower had only two lifts to service 16 floors and parking. Now one lift is being shut down for refurbishment. With only one lift, we waited with our luggage and family, next to us children and prams. After a long time a lift would come, but so jammed that it was impissible to get on. Occasionally a staff member would come and take passrengers through the goods lift. It is the Australia Day weekend yet the Management has no idea of how to manage. No work was being done on the lifts, No extra staff were engaged. Phones were either jammed or of the hook. Heavier workload on staff. Frustration, inconvenience and discomfort for all. No information when booking. Shame because great upgrade, good staff and room but all let down by bad management of a problem; I would avoid the Astral Tower for the next few months untill the lifts are working or they reduce the inconvenience to guests, the solution is simple but Management either has no idea or no will.
We recently enjoyed a four-night stay in a two-bedroom city view suite. Check-in was ready early, which was lovely as it was a stinking hot day. I had booked the two-bedroom as we were travelling with two teens. I was very surprised to find the room came with a double and queen bed. When I rang to find out if the double bed could be switched out for singles, I was told only the master queen bed could be split, not the secondary bedroom. I felt this was not at all clear on the website I booked from and feel most parents wouldn't be happy leaving the master suite to downsize in the smaller room. Given the kids were happy to share (this time) we opted to leave the bed configuration but I would not have booked had I understood the situation. The rooms have been remodelled since our last visit and were lovely and fresh. I was disappointed in the kitchen changes - there is no microwave and the tiny fridge is filled with mini-bar purchases that get added to your account after 30 seconds if they are moved. This is never ideal when travelling with kids. You can opt to lock the fridge but if you like to breakfast in your room or have a cup of tea, this is not practical. I think families would like more space for storing milk and a few other bits and pieces to keep kids happy so feel the fridge situation is inadequate. The lack of a clothes line or clothes horse was also a problem, given our many visits to the beautiful pool area. Without one there is no way of drying these items. We also spotted two cockroaches in the suite during our visit, which we reported on the visitor forms. Management contacted me to tell me they were looking into the issue. Otherwise we found the standard of the upgrade to be high, the staff very accomodating and the parking handy. The apartments are in a great location and we enjoyed using the nearby ferry to travel around the city and to locations such as Watson's Bay. The food options below are great and we also made use of the nearby Coles to pick up bread etc. Tip: If you are travelling with children, I suggest booking a level 5 room. This leads straight to the pool and saves waiting around in damp swimsuits as the lifts are sooooo slooooow.
We used to prefer the Darling as it is newer and nicer. However after the latest upgrade, Astral Tower is as nice if not better. The room were spacious with great view, service is top-notch as always. Considering the Darling is double the price, we will be staying with Astral Tower a lot more often than we used to.
