Upgraded to 2 bedroom residence; beautifully decorated and very clean room. Kitchen, large lounge, 2 bathrooms, walk in robe, ensuite and 2 balconies. Service amazing and great location. Highly recommend.
I booked my husband and I in for a weekend stay at the Astral Tower / The Star for our 3 year anniversary. Originally booked us into a King suite but was pleasantly surprised when we were upgraded to the Royal Suite on the 15th floor on our arrival! When we got up to the room, it was spectacular! There was a full living area, a dining table and a full kitchen area. Upstairs was a King size bed and a bathroom with a spa bath, dual sinks and dual shower. And the views.. omg.. so amazing!! You can see all of the harbour from up there. We also had lunch at the Harvest Buffet for lunch. It was of reasonable value for money. Favourite part was the dessert area.. 4 different chocolate fountains and so many cakes plus sorbet and ice cream machines!! For dinner, we ate at the Black Bar and Grill. The food was magnificent. Could not be more impressed. The extra topping on the plate was when we got a little extra cake at the end of our meal with 'Happy Anniversary' scribbled in chocolate with a serving of cake and a candle to blow out on the side. Would also have to say that the stay was incredibly comfortable. The bed and living room couch were excellent. My only comment is that you can hear people knocking on doors in the hallway when you're in the living room which made it a little confusing at times. But nonetheless, it was incredibly amazing stay and my husband is overjoyed and very much relaxed after our weekend getaway. Thanks so much!!
Stayed overnight for a business event and was blown away by the great service received at check in and through out my stay. Sarah at reception shows what real customer service is about. Five stars all the way.
Had the good fortune to stay at Astral Towers in the heart of Star City's complex in Darling Harbour as part of a recent business trip to Sydney. Being a frequent traveller I was immediately impressed with the high level of friendly service from reception upon check in. The whole process was seamless and my luggage was delivered to my room in less than the five minutes it took to check in. Was upgraded to a King Suite Harbour View, and was again impressed with the subtle blend of technology with motion sensor lights and blinds to welcome your arrival. The room was immaculately decorated, blend of sophistication and stylish elegance. Digital controls conveniently placed throughout the room to control lights and a/c, comfortable King size bed with goose down bedding, and a handy ledge sofa along the window wall was practical and convenient. Beautiful views of Darling Harbour with the CBD skyline and the Harbour Bridge in the distance made for an impressive vista. Bathroom was good sized, deep double vanity and walk in shower with ultra modern tap ware and shower heads. No bath which may be an issue for some guests but being more of a shower person myself I thought it was fine. Hotel is located in the heart of a casino complex, however being a mid week stay there wasn't huge crowds and you didn't feel like you were in the middle of Vegas. One plus about being located in the Star City Casino complex is the wide choice of dining options in the food courts on ground level, including a handy convenience store for any last minute amenities (IPhone charger in my case!) Had the misfortune to fall ill with bronchitis during my stay and was absolutely impressed when a hotel employee took the time to guide me outside of the hotel complex to the local medical centre across the road, outstanding service. All in all a great experience and a highly recommended hotel if you are looking for a great value for money stay in a superb location in the heart of Sydney.
There are three properties at the Star complex that are all effectively side by side. My booking of a one night stay at the Astral Tower was upgraded to a two room Apartment in the Astral residences. The apartment was very spacious and beutifully appointed. The room also had a large balcony that overlooked a neighbouring property's pool. You could also see the Harbour Bridge. The bed was divine and the room included a pod coffee machine which was welcome. Less welcome was the hair dryer which I almost broke my finger trying to use. Whomever was responsible for its purchase as part of the fitout shouldn't have a job. I would also not recommend staying in summer as the air conditioner is so loud it is impossible to sleep with it on. There is no desk to work on, so the laptop was used on a bar height bench or the lounge. There are none of the usual toiletries that you usually find in accomodation in this price range. There is no information in the room about how to contact housekeeping or reception. This is set and forget hotelling. You, I think are meant to be wowed by the decor so the lack of service isn't noticed. Sadly for the Astral Residences the art of delivery good accomodation to business travellers is found in the details. If the details and service matter this is not the property to choose.
I absolutely love this place. It's the 2nd time we have stayed. We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom apartment with an early checkin & late checkout. We also got the package where breakfast was included. I honestly cannot fault it. The location is fantastic. A short walk to the new Barangaroo - so much to choose from food wise & with the casino just downstairs we were able to duck down & have a late night drink. Loved every minute of it!! 👌🏻
Recently stayed for an industry awards night and was fortunate enough to be upgraded to the star suite. Hard to describe how homely yet extravagant the room was. Everything was where you'd want it to be, the bathroom luxurious, the bedding the soft firmness I like and the central location really helpful. But the reason the room was something else was simply the view you got over Darling Harbour. Despite having a Late night, had to keep the blinds down as waking up to the bridge and harbour and it was definitely worth it. Hope to come back some day and spend a bit more time taking in that view!
There's no better place to stay in Sydney ! The room was beautiful the bathroom was stunning, even the toilet seat was warmed ! And the lid had a sensor that knew you were there and would open automatically. The bed was luxurious! I slept very well and I don't normally when away from home . My heating wasn't working , they bought out the maintenance guys and they couldn't fix it so I was immediately moved to another room . Front desk staff were awesome everyone went above and beyond to help and accomodate me. Even asking if the could bring me up some vitamin c because I'm battling the flu . It's near everything you need , I went to the casino for a flutter , had my ribs n burgers lunch which is now a tradition when I come to Syd, had zumbos v8 baby cake and ordered room service . Which was really good too. I can't fault this hotel at all, am so happy to stay here so sad to leave , can't wait to come back again. Thankyou to all at Astral!
We loved every single day of our stay. Room was newly renovated, spacious and full of light. Quick room service and great everyday cleaning (especially compared to other hotels in Sydney). Loved L’Occitane toiletries in the bathroom! I would highly recommend to try their Harvest buffet breakfast It was only 20$(promo) and had a delightful spread. Would definitely stay there again!
Booked into Astral Towers for 9 day stay in Sydney before we head to Thailand. Superb location for Darling Harbour which has great restaurants and only 20 minute walk into city centre. Stayed on top floor 3 bedroom suite facing the harbour with excellent view of the harbour and bridge - cannot fault it. Facilities were excellent and customer service absolutely superb!!! Would not hesitate to come back and recommendation to others!! Excellent all round!
