I visit my home country, Suriname, at least once a year. Either though I have my own residence to stay at, I tend to stay at a local hotel for at least a night or weekend. One reason I prefer staying at the Mariott is simply because of the fact the rooms have carpet floors. I prefer this over tiled floors (like the floors in Torarica). My stay was flawless (as usual), check in very smooth (checked in at 10pm). I saw some familiar faces from my previous visits.
This is probably the "go to" hotel when staying in Paramaribo. Like all other hotels of the Courtyard chain, rooms are clean, safe, spacious and comfortable. Staff here really raised the bar on service. Special mention must be made of the front desk staff who answered all my questions, made restaurant recommendations and helped ease some of my apprehension during my stay. The river view is also beautiful, and the chef's garden adds a touch of charm to this property.
My stay here was very pleasant. The staff are friendly and very understanding and accommodating to business travelers. The taxi service is also reliable and safe. It's a good home away from home. Very nice.
We are celebrating our first wedding anniversary in Surinam. My husband arranged a surprise for me in cooperation with Ms. Sapna Jankipersadsing. Excerpt from his thank you email to the staff: "Beautiful room decoration, the wine was perfect, and the super impressive singing voice of Marvin. Oh, and thank you for the cake. Our warmest heartfelt thanks to you, Dennis, Jaylene, Marvin and Dillon for giving my wife the best welcome she has ever received in any hotel, ever. She was floating like she was in heaven." Excerpt from Ms Sapna's reply: "It was a team work, I am very proud of my colleagues. I called around midnight to the hotel to ask if you already checked in and if everything was to your liking, I was told already that Marvin sang for you both and that you were really happy, especially your wife. I wanted this to be a memorable experience for you since it was your first wedding anniversary and I am really happy to know that we succeeded." The staff went the extra mile and even had a flower arrangement put in the room. Ms Sapna left us a handwritten note welcoming us to the hotel. The Marriott hotels are always my husband's first choice when we travel, and I totally understand why! Great work Ms Sapna and team!!!
I travel regularly to Paramaribo for business. The hotel staff are always friendly and prompt when dealing with them. The shuttle bus to and from the airport is clean and comfortable and the driver always helps with the luggage. The hotel is clean and modern and the reception area is inviting. There is always a good selection at the morning buffet. I always tend to eat supper at the pool area. The food is always good and the atmosphere at the pool is nice. Some days they have very good entertainment in the pool area. The hotel room is always very clean and well ordered. My one complaint is that the new Casino that opened next door has flashing lights along the side of the building facing the rooms on that side. The room curtains do not always block the flashing lights enough.
Good service, breakfast was good. After a whole day of partying at my friend's wedding I had a good night sleep. I woke up early and enjoyed breakfast with my friends and the newlyweds. The service was great!
The room service standard has dropped over the past six months, with items being forgotten, and the food, although being good, takes a long time. The room service staff are generally very accommodating but sometimes lacking finesse.
Very good service and attendance The room is good enough for the price they charge The Hotel is strategically placed close to the river with a excellent view and not too far from the center. Totally recomended
