Big Sullivan’s house for family stay

The house is large and the living space is good. It’s an older home that needs some upgrades. The musty smell as you enter the home should be addressed. 9 bedrooms sleeps a bunch, but only 1 small bathroom for 4 bedrooms on the second floor is inadequate. We stayed during cool weather but the house is set up well for a summertime visit.

Work retreat

We had a small group teambuilding retreat for work. We're a close-knit group, worked during the day and relaxed in the afternoon evening. Hot tub and pool are great. Super easy access to nice beach. Host was very responsive.

Great Family Home

Loved Sullivans Island...The house and Pool area was great. Very ample white Towels and nice white Bed Linens. Very Practical House for a big family. Great Kitchen from which to work and serve. (Needs a big sald Bowl and some serving and Mixing Bowls) Very uncrowded Beach in this area.....Loved all the History nearby. The rental company was very helpful and responsive to our needs. They need to say that the Hot Tub is not working because that was a huge disappointment to our adult children. If that effected the cost-maybe do a refund for not being able to use. Overall we loved the house.

Great location, lots of space, but worn out / tired property.

Stayed here with 9 family members. The rooms were spacious and the beds comfortable, with decent privacy for everyone. The location is great - close to the beach, fort, and restaurants. Regarding the home itself, they describe the property as rustic. I’d describe it as poorly maintained. There were broken tiles in the entryway, an entire drawer missing in the kitchen. Lots of lightbulbs burnt out and toilet handles that stuck or sometimes didn’t flush. The patio off of the master bedroom feels like it’s about to collapse. We literally felt unsafe with two of us standing in it. The three level patio has many support bolts that seem partially unfastened, which is kind of scary. The kitchen is poorly equipped. There was no chopping knife, many of the utensils were seemingly missing. We were provided with barely enough dish soap for two days, despite staying for five nights. Similar with supplies like toilet paper. There were three rolls per bathroom, and three bathrooms. Laughable for 10 people for five nights. This rental seems like it is ran to maximize profit - they are one of only a few licensed for so many people in the area, and the most affordable. But the condition of the property, and the amenities that don’t work (such as the hot tub, which was filled with water and seemed clean, leading me to believe that they simply don’t want people using it because of the electric cost - of its broken it should be empty), make this overall a mediocre value at best.

Great location, lots of bedrooms and amenities

This was the perfect option for our bachelor party of 12 guys. Plenty of bedrooms and amenities (pool, pool table, games, ice maker, drink cooler, etc.). The location is good being just a few minutes walk to the beach and ~20ish minutes to downtown Charleston. The only complaints from the group was the pool wasn’t super clean despite supposedly being serviced the day we checked in, and the hot tub wasn’t working and nothing was offered to make up for that.

Great Location

Great size. Great location. It’s not the quietest house for big rooms because all of the rooms surround the main living space so bring a sound machine if you’re a light sleeper. Pool is chlorine not salt water. It was perfect for my bachelorette and would definitely stay here again!

Weekend for Golf

Great house, clean with comfortable beds and great hangout areas. Pool was nice. Very close to the beach. Only issue was the deck was old and you had to be careful about splinters, but would definitely stay again.

Not ready for renting

The house location is good The pool was not filled and non useable. Bedrooms had meager furnishings with one bedroom have only screws in walls where pictures were removed. There was a musty smell throughout the first floor only minimal improvement with dehumidifier which was functional. The garage was locked and sandbags stacked in front of the garage preventing use. Overall not worth the price and not a place i would recommend with family looking for a fully functional house.

Long weekend at Sullivan’s Island

Got together with some old friends for a long weekend. Our group really enjoyed Sullivan’s Island. Good restaurants and beautiful beaches. The house was clean and as advertised when we checked in.

Family reunion

AvantStay was very easy to work with! The house was as listed. Plenty of room. Nice large table on main level that accommodates everyone. A couple of different smaller seating areas were good for people to spread out. The house is a little worn in places but clean and comfortable. The pool, ping pong, and fusbal tables were big hits with the kids. Kitchen a little small for house that size, but most people are not coming to beach to cook gourmet meals…

Best vacation ever!

I've been to many places and the mountains have usually been my favorite because I grew up near a beach. This trip changed my point of view for beaches. I plan to return and it was so relaxing. The place had nearly everything you need. Great distance from the water. Neighbors were quiet. There were a few lights that had an issue but the manager of the property answered almost immediately. Highly recommend you stay at this place words cannot describe how awesome this place was.
