We stayed here as part of a package deal just for 1 night. It is a nice resort, just for relaxing because it is in the middle of the rice fields, a rural location. It has a traditional decoration. In fact, at first glance the place is really awesome. The room (3 people) was big and comfortable. Staff were friendly but not much helpful (there was a completely blackout and the front desk staff were not able to give us a satisfying reason why it happened and when it were going to be fixed…-finally almost an hour-). Mosquitoes: yes Good breakfast but not excellent. Slow service. Unacceptable: There were slippers in the bathroom for guests...but they were not new and properly packaged; in fact they are repeatedly worn. Unbelievable
If but for the need to keep up with the schedule, this hotel would have been an excellent break for a few days. The place with its setting, accommodation, food and restful environment is first rate. A gem in the middle of northern Thailand.
We stayed here as part of a package deal with Connections, our travel agency. When we arrived we thought that the price would be way-over-the-top, but when I checked on Tripadvisor for the room price, I must say this is incredible value for what you get: the hotel is in a large nature domain and at night you can only hear natural sounds. Most spectacular is the inner court and the overall design and feel of the hotel. It's one of the most beautiful hotels in this price category I've visited on our way up North Thailand.
There are a few factors that come into play when evaluating hotel options: location, price, services, and facilities, related to rooms and also on-site options. This place was great related to having a nice pool. If you visit Sukhothai in a cooler season, as we have in the past, that might drop back as a factor. But at a warmer time--it was 100+ F / 40+ C two weeks ago, when we visited--a pool is a must if you have kids, the most practical way for them to cool off. And the rooms were great, spacious, clean, and comfortable. Location is the down-side to this hotel, since it's not near the ancient ruins area, instead kind of off on its own. As far as I know the shuttle to the old area was free (a hotel van service), so maybe that offsets the location a little, but walking around other restaurants and shops could be nice. If you've driven there everything is close enough maybe that matters less too since Sukhothai is not that big a place.
When I booked this hotel, I thought this hotel was near the Sukhothai Historic Park, maybe it was the name...who knows. Anyhow, I made a mistake and I wanted to help you avoid that same mistake. This hotel is in the middle of nowhere and the main town is pretty far away as well. So DO NOT book if you want to be near the old city or new city. I found this out later and was bummed that this hotel didn't offer a refund (if you book with Expedia). I can't help but have a sneaky suspicion that the rule of no refund/cancellation is the result of people make the same booking mistake as myself, and they were just getting tired of the cancellations as a result. The hotel is lovely though, and I had a nice and relaxing time here, that is why I rated this place highly. The food here suck though, so take a bike, and go get some food near the airport, which is 5 mins away. They close at 4:00pm. This stayed here turns out to be more expensive for me as far as the transportation is concerned though. I think this hotel would have a lot more happy guest (and frequent) if they offer a FREE (or discounted ) shuttle to and from the Old City. Highly recommend biking around the neighborhood. They have a pretty cool Chinese Temple towards the airport.
I went to this resort with my family which has 6 members in total. We had reserved the connecting rooms which each room is quite big. The facility is good and quite effiicient such as bathroom. Both rooms' view are significant. My family enjoyed the moment staying in this resort.
We had a great stop in Sukhothai on our road trip, heading to Chiang Mai. This resort was beautiful, we loved the pool area. Once we arrived we got upgraded to a nicer room. Service was good, everything clean and great. Loved the design of the bathrooms, wanted to bring the whole bathroom home with me. The hotel is situated just 1,5 k's from the historical park. We borrowed bikes from them and took off in the early morning to skip the heat. It was fantastic. Can really recommend that. Bring the bike into the park and ride around for 10 bht extra per person. The only thing I'd like to comment on was the food. Breakfast buffet was down sized and the food aspired to be more than it actually was. It was ok but not wow.
Located close to Sukhothai Airport just 5 minutes. There is shutter car to drop / pick up between hotel and airport. Hotel is nice and traditional decoration. The room is so big and comfortable. Staff is nice and helpful.
The lobby, the bar, some of the dinning area are all open to the elements (with a roof). There are numerous walkways over the water and the koi may follow you. I didn't notice that insects were a major problem despite this open system but the numerous geckos keeping me company in the bar at night may have helped the situation. The rooms are very modern with a patio or balcony that faces the pool. They provide bicycles and there were traditional musicians playing at dinner time. I would say this is a romantic spot.
As we wanted to spend a day in Sukhothai and another day in Si Satchanalai, this hotel was perfect. Only 5 minutes of a complimentary tuk-tuk from the airport (with 4 flights per day, the noise cannot bother you anyway), our room was given to us as early as 9am. The hotel organized the visit to both ruins (by the way, make sure you don't miss Si Satchanalai, it's as beautiful as Sukhothai, and there are even less tourists). Food at the restaurant was very tasty. And the staff was amazing! At this price, 100% recommended!
