The hotel was lovely, and i enjoyed a lovely evening sitting outside on the patio. The only downside for me was what i witnessed whilst i sat in foyer area waiting fir my room to be prepared. There was a man( member of staff), who was cleaning, but he was walking out of rooms, through Foyer area , with dirty bed linen, propped on his shoulders, not even in a laundry bag. He did 4times more carrying the dirty sheets in the same manner, i thought it was u professional, undignified, least of all, infection control risk. I just had to mention this, as i just couldnt believe what i was seeing.

This hotel is very well located on the edge of Stratford-upon-Avon and there is ample parking at £10 per day for hotel guests. However, we felt this room was very poor value for money as it, whilst a little bigger than a standard room and with an additional seating area, was nothing special. In fact, there were no drawers apart from 1 desk drawer and only 1 useable shelf for clothing (other than hanging space). The standard of housekeeping was very poor - on our arrival one of the handtowels, which had been rolled up, was still damp so clearly had been left by the previous guests! The shower was great but, being an over bath affair, soaked the floor - lucky we had that spare hand towel which we used to mop it all up! We then left the very damp hand towel in the bath as this is universal hotel speak for ‘clean towel please’ but when we returned to our room later, the damp towel had simply been rolled up and replaced - not good. Add to that the fact that our room (68) was at the end of the corridor so quite a lot of foot traffic and chat passing our door and the floorboards squeaking constantly. Oh, and the very loud emptying of glass bottles outside, presumably into a recycling bin, after 11pm and at 6.20am on our first morning was extremely frustrating. We did appreciate the air conditioning and the shower cap though! Don’t think we’d choose to return here based on a very overpriced, underwhelming room.

I was really disappointed to see that the disabled car parking spaces have been prioritised for EV charging. There are now 4 EV charging points and no disability bays. Absolutely backward decision which will make it difficult for customers with a Blue Badge to stay at this hotel. Needless to say none of the charging points were being used during our stay.

Unfortunately the bedroom carpet in room 1 was worn and consequently not very inviting whatsoever. Then into the wet room where the old floor tiles appeared dirty - unless that is the aggregate in the tile since it was possibly so long ago that the tiles were installed!?? Again this contributed to a poor room appearance. The bed was nicely decorated with pillows and cushions and was comfortable. Didn’t use the tea & coffee facilities nor the fridge. Unfortunately encountered a noisy neighbour in room 3 whom had their TV on at a high level even at 0100 in the morning, this necessitated a walk to reception to raise a complaint about this matter. The receptionist assisted in this, the neighbour being asked to turn said tv off. ( it took him 2 minutes of door knocking on room 3 to alert the neighbour to their inconsiderate behaviour. Not a fault of the hotel but none the less a bad experience. The hotel is very central being very close to the footbridge- accessing all areas etc. car park charge being £10 which I suppose reasonable given the location etc. Staff were pleasant and polite.
