Let's start with the good points: the location is excellent, right next to a shopping mall which has places to buy food (including a reasonable-size supermarket with a good food selection) and a Mcdonalds if that's your choice. Or eat in the hotel. Or it's a very short walk to the city centre, literally a few minutes. Parking is adjacent, in the Rue de Sebastopol, aim for Parking P2 Sebastopol (Google Street View very handy for this) and see if you can park in row 3 or close to it. In row 3 next to a ticket machine there is a door into the hotel (also the Ibis), buzz for entry. Spaces in row 3 are perpendicular to the wall and a bit narrow, in the other rows they are angled slightly. Monster-truck SUVs may struggle a bit with both the space sizes and the very tight turns, but clearly people do manage. Be aware: the concrete roof bit and the end of the space is low - watch when you open the boot if you drive in forward! But a real bonus having a car park this close. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, many spoke good English (better than my French....). Our room (top floor, only type available when we booked) was a good size, separate toilet (but no wash basin in there), mini-bar, Nespresso machine, real bonus of 2 USB ports either side of the bed, delivered adequate current for phone/camera charging. When they eventually turned it on (more of this later) the A/C was quiet and effective. Nice bed, nice toiletries, we liked the variety of lights. Breakfast was very good, lots of choice, you could seriously, seriously over-eat! Nice staff member provided decaf coffee for me (no decaf options at all in the machines) Now the bad bits....when we arrived it was a warm day. It had been forecast (at least a week in advance) to be warm (26C), so it was no surprise to anyone. But the A/C wasn't on!!! The reception person cheerfully told me, yes, there had been complaints, but they 'have to make the decision to turn it on' and had only just done so - but it takes 24 hours to actually come on. So the first night was spent perspiring and being woken up at random intervals by the local street 'lost boys', traffic noise and then morning construction noise (lots of working going on just outside the hotel). This A/C issue is totally, utterly unforgivable for a hotel of this price and perceived status. If I owned it, I'd be looking for resignations..... When we got to our room, the Nespresso capsules were totally absent, so had to hunt those down, and their subsequent replenishment was random. As was the number of towels provided and whether or not a bath mat was included. The toilet had a flush problem - water kept on running afterwards. Housekeeping person told us how to (sometimes, eventually) stop it, so it was a known problem: we reported it, it was never fixed. So there it is: a hotel that looks really nice and no doubt has aspirations of being 'great' but it was let down by easily-rectified problems. So we were disappointed. I hope all goes well with your stays.....
A very good Novotel hotel with updated comfortable rooms excellent location tram Line D which runs from the station stops tight outside. Handy indoor shopping centre Les Halles next door and other central shops and places of interest are all within a 10 to 15 minute walk away. Breakfast excellent and all staff friendly. Would definitely recommend and excellent for families also .
we stayed in the hotel for two night in March, the location was right in the center of Strasbourg. We were four people (2 adults and two kids) sharing a comfortable spacey room. The staff at the reception was very friendly and helpful and breakfast was just fine.
Loacated minutes from everything this hotel is excellent for exploring the City. The rooms are well equipped and comfortable, there is a nice bar and restaurant. Whilst you could not describe the Hotel as luxury it has everything one needs for a short stay. I highly recommend it.
I enjoyed staying at this hotel. My room was beautiful and the location was very central. The underground parking was very convenient eventhough it was extremely smelly and dirty. It does not belong to the hotel but it is surely not part of any kind of luxury experience. Staff was very kind and wifi worked well. The choice of room service was quite limited so this should be improved.
We spend some days at this hotel and we were surprised for the quality and kindness of the staff, all of them very good and Cloé was upstanding, we highly recommend this hotel. Nosotros estuvimos unos días aquí y nos sorprendió la calidad y cortesía de sus colaboradores, Cloé fue muy eficiente, recomendamos mucho este hotel
Had a overnight in Strabourg. Hotel had family double room they ended up being at end of hall 2seperate rooms, not matter it worked for us and a good price. rooms could use improving as far as maintenance. one room offered a view so that was nice. bed was comfy shower was hot. reception was very kind and kids got a free welcome gift. drinks at the lounge were affordable and kids enjoyed the small play area hotel is attached to mall and the garage parking is very easy to navigate as well. there is a tram across the street from the hotel although everything was in walking distance. breakfast was okay would definitely stay again
I was there for three nights and I had great food and the stuff was really friendly. Really clean room and comfortable. Great spot in the center of town. A taxi stand is in front of the hotel which is perfect! I recommend it!
We stayed in this central hotel whilst checking out arrangements for a future football tournament. Our team and officials will stay here later in the month. We were very pleased indeed with the service of the hotel, the food and the rooms. It is ideally located in the centre of the city and walking around the shops etc was not a problem. It is ideally situated in terms of proximity to the airport and the TGV station which we will be using.
I had to find a hotel quickly on Christmas Day and they where very accommodating for me in my situation. Very clean and newly renovated hotel, rooms are great and the food is just ok, the barman was very Devi e driven, no UK channels on the TV though and no BBC
