Amazing vacation

The house itself was amazing… There were plenty of room for all the guests… We had adults and children, and with the three floors there was plenty of room… We cook dinners at the house, and there was plenty of room for everyone… It was a little bit of a walk over to the ski resort but once we figured out how to use the free shuttle, it was awesome… The shuttle will come pick you up and take you to town, to dinner, Two and from the ski resort… It was great. The only issue we had was the driveway was extremely icy and it took a day or two for them to come and clear it… We had a problem getting our car up and down the driveway… The owners were quick to send over some buckets of salt… Overall, this place was amazing and we would definitely stay again

Great Steamboat House

Perfect house for a large group of friends in the Winter. Easily walkable to the the resort, shuttle service worked great for getting to town, and everything as advertised. Clean and spacious!

Property Management Company is AWESOME!

We stayed for four nights at Sissa's Chalet and had a wonderful time. This was our first time visiting Steamboat Springs and the home is in great proximity to the downtown area, has beautiful views (especially from the king suite), and the hot tub was awesome! We had a few items we needed help with and every time we reached out to the property management company they were beyond helpful. They definitely went the extra mile and made the trip so much better. I would say the house is outdated for us but the management company alone would be the reason we would come back!

Great stay for ski trip

Stayed for a week of skiing and enjoyed the entire time. House is located within a 5 minute walk to the slopes. Great location in town.

Great stay

The house is in a great location. A very short walk to ski in / ski out (less than five minutes). Great view from the upstairs. We had a couple of maintenance issues and the repair person was at the house within an hour (and very quickly fixed the problems). We would definitely stay in the house again.

Great property a few issues

Great property- not truly ski in ski out but close. Terrific for our family and friends. Our issue was we were without heat in one bedroom then the entire house for a period of time. Management was very good about it but not convenient having to wait for technicians two days when I should have been skiing. :( If the maintenance problems were resolved I would highly recommend.

Great place / Great location

What a great place! We had 5 adults and 3 kids and had plenty of room. We could easily ride bikes to the base of the gondola and were able to enjoy the small stream at the base while the kids rode laps on the flow trails on their bikes! The deck was great. Large enough for us to all hang out at night and enjoy the nice evenings. The beds were very comfortable and plenty of linens and towels were provided. The only complaint I have is the bottom row of the dishwasher was difficult to slide in and out. Hardly a deal breaker! We will be back!

Great location

The property location was great for access to the ski resort. It is a single-family home in a sea of condos, which makes it easy to locate. The house had a private driveway with plenty of parking. The only reason I did not give the home 5 stars was due to the lack of kitchen amenities. The kitchen tools were limited and not conducive to cooking for more than 4 people (number and size of the pots/pans). We ended up buying some casserole dishes from Safeway and improvised to get buy.

Amazing house!

This was the perfect house with everything you need! Very close to the slopes (walkable), hot tub, grill, great size kitchen and rooms. Would highly recommend.

This is a Great Two Family House❤️

Everything was excellent renting this property. We had one four person family, and one 3 person family and two other couples with no kids. We were at capacity, but it was still the perfect size for our little crew. Within walking distance to the slopes(maybe 200 yards?). Great location. Even had boot and glove dryers! Sweet. Hot Tub was a hit. Very comfy to soak after a day on the mountain.

Nice home close to the Slopes! :)

I always rate home based off on if I will return. We really liked Kristin Chalet and would definitely return. This property is a short walk to the slopes. There is NO guest books that we can locate so we had to perform some reconnaissance to figure out where to enter and where to come home from the slopes. To get to the slopes, you walk down the hill to the 2nd set of condos and drop in to the left. To come home, drop into the first set of condo and walk home. Some of our friends walked home from the gondola. I don't think I want to do that, lol. It's a bit far. There is a bus but we didn't quite figure that out. We went to dinner at Truffle Pig one night, some hopped in my rental while the rest walked. The house has plenty of space for everyone and the kitchen has everything you need, except some gloves for the oven. Bathroom has everything you need but I would say bring your own GOOD lotions because it's dry in Steamboat. There are no humidifier in the house but we are fine without. Hubby and I were saying it's an excellent property and we would love to come back. We figured we can note a couple of things to improve to make the stay even better? 1. Door locks. Maybe change it to automatic door locks? Our Mammoth vacation home has automatic door locks and makes everything easier - checking in and such. The door actually never locked during our stay. We couldn't get it to lock. Not sure if it is because it was too cold. 2. Garage door: No codes were provided. For our Mammoth house, this is actually where most people enter and exit so they don't have to walk through the house with their wet boots, etc. 3. Driveway: No one shovel the driveway during our stay and I spend a couple of hours one night digging my car out (after going to the supermarket). The car wouldn't make it up the driveway. The next night after dinner, I spend another hour shoveling the driveway and finally gave up because the car wouldn't make it up the driveway. The last day, we were hoping someone can shovel the driveway so we can put our car close to the door to load. The plow came but he got stuck too. If the driveway would have been upkeep, I think this wouldn't have happened. 4. Small things: It would be great to have gloves for the oven and a few extra kitchen towels. The second boot warmer (close to the exit) doesn't work. Maybe consider putting a bunk bed in the master bedroom in the corner? :) Once again, overall, a fantastic property. :)

Lovely Mountain Retreat

We loved staying here. It accommodated 5 adults and 3 infants with ease. Mornings on the porch were peaceful with the beautiful view. We were able to have a nice family breakfast in the eat-in kitchen and spent time lounging with the babies. There is no air conditioning, so keep the fans going! The heat felt like it was on at night, but this was addressed with the owners. The bed mattresses were not the most comfortable, but there were ample pillows and comforters to help. It was still a wonderful home and place to stay.

We had a great stay at this house. The mater bedroom on the top floor is gorgeous. It was in a great location too, walking distance to the resort. And biking distance to many of the mountain bike trails.

Great Family Vacation

We had two families, 4 adults and 4 kids. The space in the house was perfect for two families. The location is close to walk to the base and bus line. The house is on a large lot for the kids to play. Retreatia’s service was top notch. We forgot an item at the house that we needed for the next day. They were closing for the night but left the key back in the night drop box so my husband could swing by and pick the item up. We would definitely stay here again!

Fun Girls Trip!

Stayed here on a girls trip. Location was close to slopes but not true ski in/out. Short walk to slopes/lifts. Discounted lift tickets were a plus through booking company. House is situated on 3 levels and plenty of room. Master bedroom/bath is on 3rd/top floor which is very spacious, had great views with lots of natural light, but lots of stairs. It also had a sitting area with pull out sofa in corner. Master corner shower was small, and my 1st thought was my husband, who is large, would have a hard time fitting if he was here. Also it had a separate tub and single vanity. 2nd level composed of 2 smaller bedrooms, 1 bath, kitchen/dining area, and sitting area with fireplace. Being a cook, the kitchen was nicely stocked with all gadgets, but not really any spices, or other basic cooking pantry items (flour, sugar, etc). ALSO, there is NO television on this level which was kind of a downer, because I like to watch TV while I cook and it was the Super Bowl. 3rd/bottom level had large sitting area with pull out sofa, fireplace, TV, and 4th bedroom/bath. Our friend who had knee problems stayed on this level because of all the stairs. Garage was nice for skis and inside the door lots of cubbies for various ski stuff. Hot tub located outside bottom level in driveway. That was nice after a day on the slopes. I would recommend although with reservations if there were any mobility issues.

Loved it!!

Very nice house, close to the slopes & ski resort. With having kids in our group the shuttle was awesome. Private hot tub was great with us having a big group! Dishwasher works but needs to be fixed, it’s not attached to the cabinet. Would definitely stay again!

Great location, a few issues

The location of this place is really great. Also, it was the perfect size for our family of 7 with room to spare. Hot tub was great. The inside of the house looks fairly nice at first glance but there are things that could use some work. The dishwasher was hanging onto the counter by a thread. After a bike ride, I went to shower upstairs but the shower faucet handle was completely broken - I couldn't turn on the shower. So I showered in the downstairs tub/shower but the drain was completely plugged and filled up the tub. I called Retretia in the morning and thankfully their staff were very responsive and sent over a repairman to fix both issues within an hour. Another bummer was the audio system for both upper level and lower level entertainment systems. They have in-ceiling surround sound speakers and a really nice Denon receiver but the Blu-ray player wasn't even connected to the receiver, and it would have been non-trivial to move everything and connect it up right. So we had to listen to our Blu-ray movie through the tiny TV speakers. Also, there were like 5 remotes which made it super confusing - and the written instructions were unclear. Someone needs to spend some time simplifying and reworking their entertainment systems so they are usable. Overall our stay was great but the trouble we had with some of the basics were surprising for a place in this location and a bit annoying. 3.5 stars.
