We stayed here over the New Year period. From check in to check out the service was exemplary The rooms are very well appointed everything you could want from a 5star hotel and more, turn down and room refresh on request to name just one. Breakfast was included in our tariff and was first class, a piano was playing Christmas music ensuring the atmosphere reflected the season. The hotel is an easy walk to the Hemitage area putting it right in the Centre of the museum action, even the St Peters and St Paul fortress is only a kilometer away and a very easy walk. There is absolutely no doubt we will be staying here again
The Kempinski offers exactly what it says in the book.It really makes you feel that you are in one of those grand hotels of a bygone era albeit with the comforts of the 21st century. Staff are kind and very helpful.Rooms for a single person are quite roomy and full of treats from the hotel, eg chocolates. I had the buffet breakfast on a Sunday, which was a delight. It has 'a la carte' menu with the bonus of unlimited Louis Roederer champagne, which is not your every Saturday tipple. They are the ones who make Crystal, one of the most expensive champagnes in the world. You can chose to be waited or help yourself from the buffet. At real treat that at £32 per head is an attractive deal.
Lovely place to spend in December. Hotel lobby festooned in garlands and gigantic tree. Piano player to serenade you during breakfast Staff is very helpful Sauna is a a dream Third time stayed there,.. You will never regret your stay
Our five day stay was nice, especially the delicious daily breakfast. Mohammed is the most sincere professional Maitre D one could wish for! Be sure to order the Russian pancakes with Caviar and Champagne! The daily room service including nightly turn down service is exceptional, with pristine luxurious linens both bed and bath. The doormen are from the scene of a historical drama, perfection! This Hotel offers wonderfully close proximity to The Hermitage, Russian Museum, Church of the Savior, Fine Shops, all within walking distance. Only disappointment was that on occasion the reception staff and concierge that lacked refinement that the rest of the hotel upholds beautifully.
Stayed 4 nights, very comfortable room, excellent staff, restaurant superb. Location was ideal for The Hermitage where we spent 2 days. Would highly recommend Our flights were cancelled to London and the staff went out of their way to help us which was really appreciated due to the language barrier. The hotel Christmas decorations were superb and the Christmas lights around the city worth seeing.
Stunning hotel, amazing location, and fabulous staff. This hotel is the perfect base to explore this wonderful city. Great value and delicious breakfast. The staff could not do enough to help us. Try the honey cake in the ground floor bar!!! Roof top bar is a great place for a drink too. Superb and we will visit again. Christmas decorations were great too.
We managed to get a great room rate including breakfast for our four day stay. The hotel was clean, warm, spacious and the staff made our stay very enjoyable. The location for most of the major sights in SPB are no more than 15 mins walk away with the Winter Palace just a 3 minute walk. The restaurant at the top had amazing views of the city and the food was god too. Thanks for a nice stay. We would use again.
I stayed here after reading reviews and comparing hotels that were really central to the main tourist sites in St Petersburg. The hotel is literally two minutes walk from the front entrance of the Hermitage Museum and also the end of the main thoroughfare for shopping in the city centre Nevsky Prospekt. You can also walk to things like metro stations, places to eat out, other central sight seeing locations and to pick up boat tours of the canals. I was so pleased to find the hotel so well situated. As a five star hotel, service is generally very good. Super friendly with excellent English spoken. You will be helped with baggage from the front door to your room. Check in is friendly, fast and efficient. My room was on the fifth floor and overlooked the atrium roof above check-in - so an internal view. Rooms do have opening windows. Room was super clean, although the style of decor is a little dated with its blue nautical theme. Bed is very comfortable with duvet and good quality linen. Plenty of storage space, stocked mini bar, satellite TV with internet, seating area and desk. There are also things like dressing gowns and slippers and little touches such as free fruit and some chocolate on arrival. Bathroom is where the hotel loses a point. It has a bath with shower above, sink and toilet with hairdryer, great towels, and good range of complimentary products. However there is no shower rail, curtain or screen, so if you want to shower then the bathroom floor and walls will get wet. Really pointless to have the facility but no way of stopping you flooding the bathroom. I don't want to bathe in a bath each day however I also don't want to get water everywhere in a bathroom which is not a wet room. Free wifi throughout the hotel which works. There is a small gym and sauna/steam room/jacuzi up on the 8th/9th floor - Such a shame that this area does not make more of the superb views up here. There is a top floor restaurant for lunch and dinner. I did not use it as I thought the menu was not inspiring and quite limited in choice. It was also very expensive, however the views over the city are absolutely superb - you can see key buildings all lit up at night. Breakfast was not included in my deal. They offer in room service or breakfast in the ground floor restaurant. The quality of the food was generally good, however it is VERY expensive. Continental buffet works out at over £20 per person with a cooked offering at approaching £30. That's just too much and if it hadn't;t have been so cold when I was there I would have opted to eat breakfast outside of the hotel in one of the many options around. I used the hotel bar a couple of times. Great service, although again high prices. I used the front door staff to organise me a taxi to the ballet. Be aware they use cars which are expensive. The ten minute drive for a distance of a couple of KM cost around £10. When I left I arranged an Uber cab to the airport. 24 KM over 40 minutes costing just £7. So the cars they give you are poor value, despite the convenience. ]I would have given five stars if the bath shower was sorted and the prices for food and beverage were a little more reasonable.
This is everything that I expect in a 5 star hotel, there were no complaints from checking in to checking out The hotel is comfortable and the rooms large and fantastic bAthroom Breakfast was exceptional both hot and cold food and the waiting staff did everything they could to help The hotel us ideally situated for the Hermitage and us within walking distance of other attractions including St Isaacs and St Peters and the church of the spilled blood, all worth seeing
The hotel has all going for in geographical sense its near the main sights of St.Petersburg. It just 5min away from Nevsky and 2min away from Place square. Rooms are tidy and kept well and the service is excellent in the hotel. Breakfast is something that you need seriously take with your reservation if you come to this hotel as it will be one of the best ones you will have with great service.
