Windjammer Landing Villa Beach Resort

4.5 out of 5.0

Villas with a Caribbean flare... beautiful, BEAUTIFUL views from any villa! Due to the beautiful mountainous location, walkways are steep, but there is shuttle available about every 5 min. We visited in February, temps 84 everyday, 74 at night. Tropical and lush landscaping, fabulous food at all 5 restaurants on resort(minus Jammers restaurant , wasn’t my fave, but average beach food.) Courteous, friendly and accommodating staff! Entertainment is a little lacking, it is one of the quietest resorts we’ve been too, but a good thing if you have kids! Kids club and daily small activities for them, babysitting. No loud blaring music or discos. Lovely complimentary cocktail party once a week for all guests. Beautiful spa with many treatments offered at reasonable prices. Not many exercise classes, but enough if you are looking to truly relax, nice gym. Beautiful beach with mountain views...I give Windjammer 4.7 stars! Grateful from Boston

The island is a jungle paradise. We had a very relaxing and lovely stay... The CONS: • The steepness of the terrain of St. Lucia demands that you hike up and down the hillside to get from room to beach. They do, however, have vans waiting at all times to give you a ride, altho' I often chose to walk for the great exercise.. • It rains 2-3 times a day. But it's warm rain, doesn't last long, and keeps everything fresh and flowering. • The main drawback to the Windjammer is the food. It is inconsistent, and adequate, but not great. And rather expensive. The same drink on different days was charged at totally different prices. And DON'T drink the rum & coke - - it tastes nasty. • It's a cab ride to town: the drivers are fun, but any trip to town immediately becomes $40 more expensive than staying at Windjammer. But, Windjammer has many restaurants and shops, and the prices and products in the shops are quite comparable to what you'll find in town. • There's a lovely spa, but their prices were way too high.. • 90 minute,$100 taxi to the hotel. The PROS: •It's beautiful! The island and the way the resort buildings climb up the hillside. Lovely. •The rooms are lovely. The bed comfortable. There's tea/coffee and a fridge and a blowdryer... • The locals! SO sweet and friendly! • Lots of pools, so you can find just what you need. There was a small pool right by our room that hardly ever had anyone there. • The gym is excellent with yoga quiet room. • Water sports!

Pros - The hotel staff is very helpful and do everything in their power to make you stay comfortable. Cons The room is sold as an ocean view; however, you don't see the ocean unless you climb up the stairs to the terrace. There is a tiny area to make coffee but has no power outlet to plug in the coffee maker. The shower has an improper slope so there is standing water at all times. There is no parking by the room, you have to park by the lobby and either walk uphill to the room or request a shuttle! Stay away from the king ocean view room, its a scam!

Had a great time at Windjammer. Villa assigned was completely renovated with new kitchen and appliances. Views of sea and mountains from balconey was outstanding. This was our 4th stay and will return again.

The resort was a great place to stay in St. Lucia. The staff was friendly and the shuttle service was seamless.

The hotel is nice. The price we got was very attractive. We opted out of the all inclusive because it was extremely expensive. My boyfriend and I do not eat that much food anyway. We spent most of our days around Rodney bay and the food was so affordable. Overall, we spent about $300.00 for food for two people. We were there 5 days and four nights. We always choose all inclusive resorts but we are glad we did not this time around. It gave us the opportunity to experience something different and we loved it. I enjoyed having local food We rented a car and drove around the island. It cost us about $250.00 for the rental. Taking a cab from the airport to the hotel would have been extremely expensive. We also drove our rental (small car to Sulphur Springs). Overall, the hotel was okay. I hated seeing the cats around and especially at dinner. we had dinner at the hotel our first night and cats kept walking by. The hotel staff were nice. Especially at the bar. The only time we had issues was dinner on our first night. The staff were not as friendly and seemed like they were being bothered.

This was one of the best vacations ever, great location, great staff, will go back there again. Although it was just 2 of us, next time we will bring kids, they have a lot of things to do for them as well.

The room was something we were not expecting. It was amazing private and lovely for my husband and myself. We are planning to go back and I am recommending it to all of my friends who like to travel

The hotel was beautiful! The staff was awesome! We had an amazing trip!

Overall experience was great!! Staff were SO friendly and amazing!!! My boyfriend and I stayed the first week of June and we had a great room for price of $121/night, there was AC, great view, mini fridge and great vibe to the place. All of the hotels on St. Lucia are spread apart (something we didn't look into before going), that's just how it is. I guess the North part of the hotel (this hotel among others) sees more sun than by the pricer (southern) hotels such as lad era (although if you want to spend 1,000/night for an amazing view I would recommend lad era or jade mountain, they are amazing and breathtaking, but pricey. Anyways, Windjammer was great, don't expect long beautiful white sand beaches on the island (its not anything like i have seen in mexico) but Windjammer had amazing staff, they work like it isn't their job. We didn't get all inclusive, but we spent a lot on taxis so all inclusive would have been fine. ONLY negative: cats are everywhere!! And my bf and I hate cats, esp when they fight and scream at each other at night (they sound like screaming children, however they were only located by the restaurants…. most of the tourists loved them though. But we got over it, we just don't like cats. We got the opportunity to hang at one of the villas on the top of the mountain 408? IT WAS AMAZING, infinity pool, perfect for honeymooners or families. If you look at our hotel from the ocean, IT LOOKS LIKE THE BEST HOTEL ON THE ISLAND, its huge and white and looks fancy!!! OVERALL: Must stay for the price. You will have a great time. Be ready to spend on st. lucia (in general)--its their only income really into the country so they work their butts off!! We're from Wisconsin so things were expensive to us, but New yorkers, cali ppl and chicago ppl--it might just be well priced for you guys. have a great time!!!!! (kid friendly too) Pools were cool too!!

We had a great time at Windjammer! The staff were super accommodating, the beach and location was excellent and the food was second to none! I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the beautiful island of St. Lucia!

We enjoyed our stay in the Hibiscus king suite...had our own pool shared with 8 other units. Friendly staff and concierge group... Food was very good for breakfast in the Dragonfly and dinner at the Upper Deck and Papa Don's was excellent. Diving was just okay as there was no Nitrox available and the dive sites were murky at times due to the sea current. The Leeleen M wreck was the highlight of the dive experience. The dive staff was very good and did provide snacks and water/juices for us to eat and drink after each dive. Diving was very casual (not many divers at all) and fun on most dives. Water sports at the resort are abundant. Beach is very nice and well maintained by the grounds personnel. The resort is very beautiful and the grounds are immaculate!

Hello, Great time at this resort everything was nice including - 1. the free water sports. 2. great staff - really friendly and nice. 3. great food! and the different restaurants were a nice variety. 4. The rooms were perfect, with separated balcony's, which really gave it a resort feeling. Would definitely go back. thanks again!

This was a great hotel and great location. So many water activities for the kids. The dining is outstanding!

We recently returned from a one-week stay at the Windjammer. We had rented a two-bedroom villa with plunge pool. The villa was good, except that we did not use the plunge pool as there were too many mosquitoes in it. We did have baby ants in the kitchen and did not do any indoor cooking. The food is very good and the staff at the hotel is very helpful. It definitely is a great place for families.

Be ready for the hour and a half cab trip ($80 in US Currency) if you fly into UVF (Hawthornia Airport). The power went out for about 12 hours during our stay which made for a miserable night sleep. The air conditioning broke the next night but they were able to come fix it, although we did have to wait. The staff was friendly and the resort itself was very nice. We never had to wait for a meal and the accomidations (eg..pools, beach, etc.) were not overly crowded at any point.

My experience after all the check-in issues were straightened out was really good. Most of the staff was very friendly with a few exceptions. Transportation was also very convenient.

The villa was wonderful, very clean, well stocked and pretty. The grounds were beautiful, flowers and plants everywhere. We did not do all inclusive so we thought the food prices were a bit high. We stocked up at the mini mart on the premises and ate breakfast in our villa. The plunge pool was wonderful and a great way to cool off right before bedtime. You need to prepare for some walking but they do have a great shuttle service. The only unpleasant time was the 2 hour ride to the hotel from the airport because of traffic jams in Castries. A must do is the all day catamaran ride and tour of the cocoa plantation, falls, and drive in volcano. The rain forest tram ride was wonderful, also.

The room was disappointing but it was changed when we went to the desk. The grounds were just beautiful. Our new room overlooked the ocean but was noisy with the construction. Overall, I would recommend this hotel.
