I was stayed for 9 nights and found the hotel very clean and convenient, with extremely friendly employees/service. There probably isn't much to say that hasn't already been said. It was close to Fort Drum, and Walmart, so I was able to stock my kitchenette and bank my per diem. If I had to go back to Fort Drum again for any reason, I would definitely be a return guest.
Thought it was pretty pricey. Realized after a mix up with hotels.com, a frantic phone call, and then having to go in and make a reservation to get the room, that in my exhausted delirium, I had booked a room at 10pm for one night only in an extended stay hotel. It was there and we could shower and sleep. Bed was not very comfy. Kitchenette was nice as we could unload our rv fridge since we were having issues with it and couldn't get into the rv park where we were planning to stay that late.
Warm & friendly staff, very clean. Loved the loaner shelves The small kitchenette was perfect to cook my soldier some home cooked meals before he leaves on deployment. Overall, a great stay and fully recommend it to anyone . The beds were very comfortable as well.
The carpet in our room was very old and ratty. It was shredding at all the seams. The mattresses were very uncomfortable. I woke up with a backache. The mattresses are also very loud. They squeak every time you move, so I woke up every time I rolled over. The room appeared to be clean, but run down. The staff was very courteous and pleasant.
I typically stay at another hotel chain when traveling but there wasn't one located nearby. We thought the Candlewood looked like the best option based on the other local hotels. Overall, we were impressed by the hotel. The staff at the front desk were friendly and informative. Our room was large and clean. We opted for the 1 bedroom suite. It consisted of a single bed in the bedroom and a pull out couch in the living room. There was also a kitchenette with a fridge, stove and microwave. My wife loved the free washers and dryers located near the lobby. The front desk also has a library of DVDs that they loan out. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.
Came Here to pick up my daughter from College nearby, the receptionist was waiting for our arrival and had our family name on a board with "Welcome" and offered us refreshments and snacks, the parking is large and thankful for that because I had trailer hitch and I didn't feel bad to take up 2 parking spots as there were other trailers in the large parking lot in rear, found our room more than comfortable and accommodating to my family and I and would and will be staying here in the near future! I had no problems with my stay.
We booked this hotel last minute for a Saturday night stay over fourth of July weekend. It was a great value compared to the limited options that remained in Watertown near Salmon Run mall which is 15 minutes away. There is a Walmart Supercenter and some fast food options in walking distsnce right next door. Otherwise, the surrounding area is rural. The hotel is an extended stay with a full kitchen and everything you need for preparing and cleaning up after you have made your own meal. It does not offer a "free" breakfast. Free coffee is in the lobby area.
Worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Dirty! Curtains are soiled. Garbage under the beds. Chair is full of food and whatever else. Table had food and grime. I have two toddlers and feel like I need to give them a bath in bleach. No more rooms available so we get extra points . Yay. Apparently the housekeeping supervisor is on vacation so the housekeepers must be slacking. That's the answer I got from the woman at the front desk. Might as well flush the $100/per night down the toilet.
I stayed here for two weeks & had zero problems. My co-worker's A/C stopped working & the hotel had replaced it within the hour! They're very professional & very responsive. Their exercise room is top-notch as hotel facilities go. Two treadmills, an elliptical, a stationary bike, free weights, a weight machine, yoga balls & etc: all in excellent condition. The hotel offers a free laundry facility with several machines! They clearly put guests in a more primary position than other hotels in which I've stayed long-term.
I stayed at the Fort Drum/Watertown/Evans Mills Candlewood For ten days in June 2017. Candlewood is IHG's attempt to enter the long term stay hotel market. Their attempt fails to pass muster. On the plus side - Great desk staff - Gas grills On the minus side: - As expensive as a Residence Inn, but no breakfast. - Nearly as expensive as suburb based Embassy Suites, but no managers reception - Unsafe gym equipment. Several of the Dumbbells fad loose weights on the handle. - 400% markup on foods in the "cupboard". A single Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwich for $3. I think not. - A smaller than average size room to begin with. - A "not so full" kitchen. (No garbage disposal, no oven). - Housekeeping only 2x per week, when all other long stay chains offer daily visits. TOO MUCH MONEY (104 per day), NOT ENOUGH VALUE.
