Luxury Barn Conversion -Ideal Location for both Coasts and Eden Project

Tremodrett Barn is a contemporary, two-bedroom barn conversion, graded 5 star by Visit England standards. Decorated in boutique-hotel style including an oak four poster bed it provides a comfortable and stylish base for your holiday. Situated between Padstow and Fowey the estate is surrounded by fields and open countryside. Tremodrett is a tranquil, leafy hamlet yet close to the A30 main road in Cornwall, making it an ideal base for travelling around Cornwall and exploring the north and south coasts. Fibre broadband.

The first floor open-plan living accommodation is flooded with light and has a dramatic vaulted roof space and beams. A Juliet balcony overlooks the courtyard - perfect for a litte star-gazing! Laura Ashley sofas are complimented by a stylish oak dining table . The kitchen is equipped to a high standard with professional pans, a food processor and blender and Sophie Conran china. There is a washer-dryer. In the cooler months you can keep cosy by the fire (electric with real flame-effect).

Downstairs are two bedrooms and two bathrooms. A further room is furnished as a TV den/quiet room - perfect for the children to chill out and give the grown-ups a little respite! A contemporary full bathroom is adjacent to the four-poster bedroom. This main bedroom opens onto the courtyard, so you can pop out easily for a quiet morning coffee, and has a modern king-size oak four poster bed. We like to spoil our guests! There is room for our travel cot in this bedroom or in the TV den.
The large second bedroom (twin) is a dramatic room with sloping roof reaching into the eaves of the barn. There is a contemporary en-suite shower room in the twin bedroom so guests in each room have their own bathroom. Both bedrooms are equipped with crisp white bed linen and goose-down duvets for the cooler months.

Outside there are two garden areas - a private garden to the front receives sun throughout the day - and is decorated with palms and exotic plants which thrive in Cornwall's sunny clime. There is a long raised bed planted with flowers and shrubs . Dining table and seating for four with kettle BBQ.
To the rear of the barn is a courtyard (shared with two adjacent barns) decorated with mature hydrangeas and camellias. Bistro table and two chairs - perfect for your morning coffee - just outside the four-poster bedroom.
The whole estate has been finished to a high standard. In the fields we caught sight of roe deer in our first week and there is a resident woodpecker. There are five other barns on the estate.

(N.B. There is a wide flight of steps down from the car park -designated parking for up to four cars. Access to our barn is via a path round our neighbour's barn with four steps. There is more direct access via the courtyard following key collection. Please note the paved area can be slippery in wet weather.)

The barn is our own holiday home and equipped and furnished to a high standard, not purely as a holiday let, and we hope our guests will appreciate all our little extra touches and have a really comfortable and relaxing stay.

Part of the access road to Tremodrett is a wide, single lane. There are plenty of passing points and little traffic but you may have to slow down to Cornish pace on a bend or two!

The cottage is heated and features a kitchen, 2 bathrooms, and a balcony, and there's space to spread out with 2 bedrooms. Guests can expect to find free WiFi and a TV with a DVD player. Other standard amenities include a washer/dryer, a fireplace, and a coffee maker. Housekeeping is available on request.

Cornwall escape

A very pleasant accommodation in a good location. Best not to travel when its dark as it was quite hard to find at night. Tucked away on a quiet country lane. The top floor is a living area and can fet quite warm. Downstairs are 2 bedrooms. Bed are a little firm, so be prepared. Overall quiet a nice spot to stay. Hosts were very friendly and helpful.

Tremodrett is a well-equipped cottage in a countryside location, ideal for a perfect Cornish break. Sleeps 4, two bedrooms with comfortable beds, Good WiFi, parking, local walks. The barn is beautifully decorated and, on a sunny day, one can enjoy the delightful patio. Beautiful accommodation in very quiet surroundings

Hosts were great with communication, accommodation was stunning, clean and had literally everything you would need; shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, all herbs, spices, oil, kitchen roll!! Very well stocked crockery and equipment too. Small point- cupboards and drawers were so well stocked there wasn't much room for the food we had brought for the week, but only a very minor point. Accommodation is down typically Cornish, very narrow roads, so walking would not be advisable to town. A perfect base for both North and south coasts. A lovely week filled with memories, as always, sad to leave beautiful Cornwall.

Generally satisfied.

Overall the property was the bast we have stayed at in Cornwall. The facilities were excellent. our only problem related to accessibility. My sister used a walking stick due to weakness in her right side. As such she had trouble with steps from parking area. Also, though ground floor with en-suite was ideal for her the overall upside down nature of the property was not what we expected.

Our stay at Tremodrett

Christine and Terry are very efficient hosts and we were supplied with detailed information regarding the accommodation. There was a very welcome 'welcome pack' awaiting us when we arrived including a bottle of Prosecco, tea bags, coffee, milk and other essentials. The accommodation is extremely comfortable, superb beds, and the kitchen is well equipped. It is very conveniently situated with St Austell, Padstow and Bodmin within easy reach, and Roche is within easy walking distance for a well stocked Co-op and a very good butcher. All in all we had an enjoyable stay.

A fabulous holiday cottage in a lovely peaceful location

We have just returned from a lovely week staying in this beautiful cottage. We were blessed with amazing weather which was an added bonus. The cottage was a great size for a family of 4 with 2 lovely bedrooms and bathrooms and a great open plan living, dining and kitchen on the top floor. Everything was spotlessly clean. We didn't use the snug room but I think if our children had been older this would have been an added bonus. We loved that even though it was an incredibly busy week in Cornwall (half term holiday) it was still incredibly peaceful where we were. Favourite days out included kayaking hire from Fowey River Tours and walking the amazing coastline from Trebarwith Strand to Tintagel. Also the kids enjoyed the beach at Porth Pean. Thanks to Christine for lots of useful information too and for sharing your beautiful home.

High Standard of Accommodation

We enjoyed staying here very much. The design and decorative details make it a cut above most holiday rental accommodation and even smarter than home in many ways! The beds were really comfortable too, which is always key to our enjoyment. For our purposes we missed outside storage space for kit and and I think the non-stick saucepans have had their day. In every other way it was a lovely place to stay and I can highly recommend it. Christine was a pleasure to arrange the visit with too. Thank you!

Post lockdown holiday

We had a fabulous 2 weeks in Tremodrett. The cottage was exceptionally clean, cosy and well looked after. It had everything we needed for a really comfortable holiday with children aged 7, 4 and 3 months! We have holidayed in the Polzeath area before but were looking for a central location from which to do lots of exploring of both coasts and this really offered this. It’s in a great spot just off the A30 so the north and south coasts are easily accessible as long as you don’t mind a 30 minute drive (ideal for us with sleeping children!). Plus we felt nicely cocooned away in the countryside with lots to explore on our doorstep. Would really recommend this lovely spot, thanks again Christine!

Great location

The barn is located in great location with 30mins drive to north or south coastal places in Cornwall. The host Christine was very helpful and emailed us all the useful information needed during our stay. Although the place was supposedly deeply cleaned I thought the cleaning was average. Definitely recommend staying at this place.

Family holiday

We had a wonderful stay and loved the cottage (including our 2 boys aged 12 and 14!). Tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The location of the cottage allowed us to explore both the north and south coasts with only a 20-30 mins drive to fantastic beaches! Furthermore, the fact that it is rural allowed a peaceful retreat in the evening from the hustle and bustle of the coast. Would fully recommend staying.

The place is really lovely - ideal for a family of 4

Our stay was really good - the barn at Tremodrett is really well placed to visit the areas around Newquay and the north coast which we particularly like. There was also an awesome large Soft Play and activity place in St Austell called Kidzworld which is worth a trip if the weather isn't great. The accommodation itself is well worked out with a great upstairs living area with plenty of large skylights to let the cool air in. The Cornwall Services are handily placed really close by and on the whole we found the location very convenient.

Wonderful, quiet location ideally situated for North and South Coast.

Possibly the best equipped cottage we have stayed in, comfortable, light and very roomy. Tasteful decor and nicely furnished. It sounds a little cliched but it had a home-from-home feel about it. We particularly liked the extent of necessary kitchen items - plenty of kitchen roll, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, aluminium foil, cling film, herbs and spices, oil - all of those things that you don't really want to have to bring with you and you don't want to have to buy packets of while you're there! The bedrooms were both nice and big - you feel that another room could have been "fitted in", as they all too often are, but not here. The bathroom was well equipped but a little small (not a problem), and the shower was great. Nice touches in the bathroom as well - plenty of loo roll, hand soap and even cotton wool pads! The location is ideal for the whole of Cornwall and into Devon (although we've covered a lot of Devon before - we tended to go further west). Best beach we found (in our opinion) was at Constantine Bay - easy parking (£5 a day), superb coffee trailer at the top of the beach (and I mean superb - I like my coffee and this was very, very good), rock pools and good boarding - but best of all, dog-friendly: many, many lovely dogs. Walks along both north and south coasts - quite a steep up-and-down one from Port Quin (National Trust car park) to Port Isaac along the coast, but if you follow the inland path back that is much easier. Lovely walk from Polperro to Look (about 5 miles but less arduous) and a regular bus back for lightweights (i.e. us), about £3 each for single fares. A must is the walk across the viaduct at Luxulyan, and find the waterwheel pit at the far end, which is just amazing. Fish and chips in Roche excellent, and the Co-Op is well equipped but seems permanently busy. Overall, one of the best holidays we've had, and this property was a large part of that.
