A good stay at this hotel. Fantastic reception and great caring staff. Rooms are of high quality. Pool and pool area is amazing. Restaurant is high quality. I stayed in the new hotel section and is very modern but also very "excluded" from rest. No restaurant and out of way. I will request to stay around pool if I visit again.
We stayed in the rather new building opposite the tennis court. Large room with huge and comfortable bed with a sea view. Well appointed modern bathroom. Very quite, apart from travellers arriving far into the night. Very tasteful garden site with a large pool where you can really do your laps. Pool bar where they serve alcohol. We once had a large dinner buffet at a very air price, the à la carte restaurant serves delicious food at rather high prices. Very friendly and courteous staff. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of food.
I am currently in Oman and I must say that after 43 years of travelling the world I have found the best hotel so far! It is facing the beach and every evening I have a delicious meal I eat a delicious meal served by the friendliest staff I have ever come across. The rooms are beautiful and each morning I sit on my balcony to watch the sun rise directly in front of me. If I could give it ten stars for everything I would.
Great building in a fort style, we stayed in the rooms next door to the villas, we did ask for non smoking but obviously didn't understand us and gave us one. We went back to reception and they gave us another room with a sea view. They have a great pool and grassed area and outside bar. Breakfast was also good with omelettes cooked fresh to your taste. The hotel has a bit of age to it but it is quaint.
The hotel had a very nice beach and so quite . rooms are is good , and bath room was not so good , so much water leak , the shower was slippery you have to watch your step during your movement. breakfast was normal and only 1 person to serve all the geusts food level was low to be improved , very less items were available and only 2 types of fruits were there , It was 3 star level.reception team were help full during the check in and out.
Living in Sohar for 2,5 years, we knew this hotel already. After being retired we left for Europe, but now, after 6 years, we went back to Oman for a holiday. We booked this hotel again and were not disappointed! Amthias and Ali, both working at the swimming pool, immediately recognised us which was very nice. We must say that the guy behind the reception was not that friendly, but later on he mellowed. The rooms in this hotel are big, clean and the beds are very comfortable. Breakfast is good too. We did not have dinner this time. We had some snacks at the poolbar. The swimmingpool is fantastic, also for the children. You can go to the ( public) beach directly from the hotels's garden. But it is more fun to stay at the poolside. We absolutely can recommend this hotel. The atmosphere is very nice and also for families with children, it is great.
Stayed in the new block (opposite the tennis courts) for one night as a solo traveller. The room was really excellent, huge with a huge bed and all the mod cons. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and I had a lovely view of the beach (no balcony). The staff at reception were very welcoming and the hotel itself I thought was quite grand, albeit quiet. WiFi was ok, not good enough for a voice call but otherwise did the job. The food in the restaurant was good - I had lunch here as there’s not a lot of other options around the location. The food was s little pricey but very good quality. I walked to another nearby hotel for dinner so can’t comment on main meals, but the fajitas were excellent. Service at the pool bar was good with a good selection of drinks. Overall I was quite impressed with the place.
We were 2 families with young children. We booked the Chalet which is the biggest room available and directly on the beach and very close to the pool. The chalet size is great. It has a big terrace where we had our lunch and other meals. There is big living room, a bedroom, a dressing room, a kitchen ( no oven or microwave) ie u cannot cook hot meals. There was also a big bathroom and a small toilet. We were 4 adults and 3 children around 6 years old. The hotel threw in 4 mattresses which were more than enough with the double bed available in the room. Had a lot of decent space to use for the 7 of us and it could have fitted a bigger family. The beach is not great, but is ok. There are no facilities as it’s a public beach. You have to exit the hotel backside gate and you will be like 100 meters from the water. The pool is big and deep. You will have fun there. There is a separate kids pool which is also very nice for the young. The hotel staff we met were very friendly including Mr. Harirth at the front desk, the house keeping, restaurant, all of them were eager to help when approached, but there was an obvious shortage of staff available. The house keeping had only 1 staff during our 3 days stay. The restaurant as well only 1 person visible to us through the whole stay. When I asked about it, someone told me, it’s the weekend and staff are on leave! The food quality at the breakfast was not below average: quality, variety and all. We weren’t encouraged to try lunch or dinner at the only restaurant available , based on our breakfast experience. Otherwise the hotel is fun and a pleasant total experience. The area around the hotel is very basic and quiet which was a change for us and I enjoyed mingling with some locals at night around the mishakeek (grills) stalls, the park, fish market.
There is nothing much to see in Sohar...but the hotel was great. The pool is gorgeous and the rooms are very nice. We had ocean view, which was beautiful. Go to the fish market in the morning! The guy at the front desk wasn’t too nice but overall our experience was good.
Probably a first hotel in Oman or world entertaining customers by parking JEEP in swimming Pool! Management must think before doing such about their guests. Staff mentioned it's a First Ever JEEP show in Oman which was really funny to hear.
