A nice hotel for an affordable price. Walking distance to some fairly priced good food. Our flight was several hours after check-out time of the hotel yet they let us leave our luggage with no extra charges. Still had time to walk around the city and squeeze in more time to visit some more tourist spots that we hadn't been to. Met a very accommodating receptionist named Rhea who was very accommodating! :) Thank you!
For this price, i'd rather stay in other modern hostels nearby. Everything was stiff during my stay... - No window - No smile - dark - dusty - thin pillow - noisy (there was a project during mys stay) But very well located...
Stayed here recently for 1 night just for transit. Hotel 81 Bugis is well positioned and walking distance to the interesting places in Bugis area. The location again is very convenient. For the price that i paid - as i was making the booking in the last minute for $110 - the room was OK. Size of the room is acceptable. Bathroom is small but also acceptable, however was dirty and moldy. The bed in the room is the hardest bed i have ever slept on - not convenient at all. For this small hotel, of course you dont expect any service given. Overal was an OK stay for transit, and i would not recommend to stay more than 1 night unless the price is below $100. For above $100 i dont think Hotel 81 is worthy enough. Thanks.
Its location is very strategic. Close to shopping malls like Bugis Street & Bugis Junction. Affordable prices. Suitable as a place to stay alone with a minimal budget. Access is easy to reach, either by bus or MRT.
It's a recommended hotel if you want to stay only for sleeping, keeping your luggage and things you've bought! Its location in Bugis area, near from MRT station. FYI, you can't enjoy your time or relaxing or even enjoying the hotel's facilities that you usually get.. Yaa, because of no facilities at all. 😀 Just drop your luggage and enjoy your day with going somewhere or enjoying city tour or get lost in the busiest city..
This is not a luxury hotel and the accommodation is basic but adequate, what you pay for is what you get. The rooms are small, the bathrooms cramped and the AC on high and there is no breakfast provision but the personnel are pleasant and helpful and the location is good for public transport, eating places, shopping and sights.
We stayed there 5D4N ( 23 to 27 May ) We booked through booking site and rules are can not refundable and upgradable. When we arrived hotel, they allowed us to upgrade the room . 6th Floor Courtyard room ( Room with balcony 3mx1.5m ) Balcony is open sky and two love seats ( Amazing at center of Bugis ) Room is OK . Bathroom small ( Basic ) No refrigerator. No seating area at reception. Although we heard 81 are hourly hotel for love couple, me and my GF haven't see any unusual. Foreigners also staying there. Walking distance to Bugis . Many food shops. 7/11 at basement. Walking distance to Suntec. Bugis MRT is more near . Can also walk to cityhall. ( 15 mins )
The term to remember here is BUDGET. We were thrilled to get a Double Deluxe room at what seemed a very low rate - but ut turns out that Deluxe simply means ordinary double but with a window. The room is compact with very little storage space (mini wardrobe with fixed hangers, and a couple of shelves). The bathroom is basically a wet room with toilet and basin with soap dispenser. One towel each, no hand towels or bath mat. The air conditioner and fridge work overtime (we had to ask for extra blankets and any water in the fridge freezes). No breakfast provided, no lounge. That said, the room is clean, the staff friendly and helpful (we got the blankets, we could leave our bags in the lobby when we checked out) there are bottles of water provided every day, wifi that works, a TV, there is a kettle and a hair dryer.. The hotel is half way between Bugis and City Hall metro stations, about 5-10 minutes walk to either. 5 minutes walk to Raffles hotel (for the opposite of Budget hotel). There are bars and restaurants and market shops nearby.
This is the first time I had graded a hotel 2 stars. Despite being in a centralized location, we are not getting what we eventually paid for. Paid for a full walk-in price but was awaken by all sorts of disturbance. 1)Started with poor wifi despite being connected. Wifi only improved when the room door is left open. 2)Noises from corridors, loud talkings & door bangs 3)Awaken by knocks, drills as early as 8am. Screeching sounds from room making. Who is willing to pay for a room where sleep or rest time is being disturbed consistently. IMPROVEMENT BADLY NEEDED!!! 1)Improve on the wifi. Providing free wifi but inability to use it. Doesn't it refer as USELESS?2)Should educate or put rubber on the bed leggings to prevent screechings (changing of bed sheets isn't feather weight). 3)Should notify customers before collecting payment. Disturbed sleep through out since 8am. Terribly bad experience! Only concern from management is to get customers to pay for room only. Not even a small bit of consideration.
I'm giving 5 star rating because this is the only budget hotel which we could (100 singapore $ per night) find with attached washrooms. We didn't expect that much of facilities from them because there is no any other option for us.Reception staff were friendly and very helpful. They daily clean the rooms but during our 4 nights we received water bottels only 2 days.Room is good and bed was comfortable.Only issue was washroom smells very very bad when the washroom door was opened.we informed and they could do only use air freshner. But actually problem is there is no any window in the room or washroom.(Can manageable if they can open the room door for few hours after cleaning)During our 4 nights fire alarm rang 2 nights.
