Chateau Suite Hotel Downtown Shreveport

We have been staying at this hotel for around 20 years. It was once a great place to stay, wonderful location, especially for the Red River Revel, and the shuttle service was awesome. Kevin always had a restaurant recommendation, or a music club... anyway, they have apparently given up on trying to run a decent business. The place was filthy, not dirty, but unsanitary. There were people in the parking lot that looked like they were conducting business transactions. We had taken two granddaughters to visit the Sci-Port museum, and had planned a diner out. My wife and I decided it would probably not be a good idea to stay after dark, and drove back home. I asked for a refund, as we were not in the room but 30 minutes, and was met with a blank stare, so we just packed up and left. Specific issues, other than a strong unsafe feeling, included nonworking television, hole in the sheet rock wall, mismatched furniture cushions, broken kitchenette fixtures, thick mold in toilet, smell of urine in the elevator, sticky everything... we never pulled the sheets down on the bed. My advice would be to drive on by and sleep in your car if you have to.

Spent about three day on a Ladies weekend trip. The beds were nice and comfortable. The rooms did show so wear and needed to be updated. The staff was nice and helpful. Used the shuttle service to go across the bridge and shop at the outdoor shopping strip on the river. The driver looked after us and came right back to pick us up after we called. Only had to wait about 5 minutes.

I agree with you completely. Me and my wife stayed there for many years until it started going down hill. it is a beautiful hotel and could be great again with some major upkeep. the staff was always very courteous and helpful but they could only do so much. i'm anxiously waiting till someone else takes it over and restores it to a hotel like it used to be.

This hotel was the worst place I have ever stayed and if I had any other options, I would have left! I paid $177 for two nights and it was the worst money ever spent. Dirty, disgusting and run down. My mattress was stained with urine, the shower was filthy and so on and so on. I have attached pictures. Please, do not stay there,,,,,ever!

It could be great. Charming lobby. Quaint features...but it's clearly going to ruin. I wouldnt be surprised if a sale or bankruptcy is imminent and owner is refusing to do any upkeep . Im not one to post pics if every stain and crack but Ice machines don't work. Pool is "closed" meaning nobody is cleaning it. Laundry facilities are non-existent. Business center has no computers. The bed is comfy. The fridge works. Microwave and big tv. And to be fair, I paid $40. If management had their act together it would be $200 easy. I also noticed in other reviews the manager seems to respond more quickly to positive reviews. Maybe he's also just treading water til they pull the plug. He cant be much interested in the reputation of his hotel. This would be a great Hotel Rescue candidate.

The lobby really shows off how grand this hotel used to be. It is a little worn, but the management does a good job of keeping it up. We had a giant suite with kitchen. I found the room clean and comfortable enough for me. If you are a clean freak or like everything new, spend a lot more and stay somewhere else. The breakfast was fine.

First, let me say that if you don't appreciate older style hotels, the holiday inn is across the street, and that might be more suited to your taste. If you long for the nostalgia of yesteryear, if you appreciate older, well maintained classics like the chateau suites, then welcome to your home away from home. Front desk was staffed by a lovely young woman. Our room was clean and comfortable. The beds were very comfortable! Ideal location for downtown walk abouts. Don't let the other reviews scare and sway you away from the chateau. It's a lovely step back to an era gone by. Enjoy your stay.... We did, and we will be back.

Booked on line and chose to pay for room when we arrived. Called to confirm late arrival and when we did arrive the reservation had been cancelled. They did have a room but not what was reserved. No hot water and no cups for the in-room coffee service. Floors had not been vacuumed. Totally unacceptable Overheard over complaints from other visitors and the response from the desk was not hospitable. No manager on duty and no housekeeping staff available. It was a very busy weekend in the city and the hotel seemed unprepared.

room clean employees understaffed breakfast terrible. no milk i guess the pictures where misleading. rooms had order not sure what was . was non smoking room. ice machine on floor did not work had to go to lobby to get. only one towel in room. price good but thats the end of good.

Staff is nice but useless. Well the very little staff there is. Housekeeper isn't available to until 9 in the morning. And they don't clean your room unless u stay more than 3 days and then only come once a week. Microwaves are NOT available in every room. And premium TV, NOT!!! There are only 32 channels and 10 of them are snowy. Beds are OK but, some don't have blankets. I requested one and had to wait until the next morning to get it when house keeping arrived, which she was very nice. She gave me a throw because they didn't have enough blankets. Also my first room yes, they offered to place me into another room after I asked if there was an issue with the cable. My first room which I didn't mind staying in had a previous apparent leak and still had water stains on the wall. Oh and A BAR!!!!!! NON EXISTENT!!!!! LIES I TELL U LIES. DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL!!!!!! Oh and also I swear there is blood splatter on the ceiling of the main elevator, it maybe rust since the is apparent rust all over the inside of the elevators!!!!!!!
