Great service for specific dietary requirements (FODMAP, gluten free). Will happily adjust dishes to suit individual needs. Had excellent food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Highly recommend to eat here (especially as it is difficult to find gluten free meals in China).
Excellent service by the reception team, Flora, Doris, Wendy, Summer and Christina. The ladies were very approachable and attentive. Due to work and travel arrangements, my colleague and I had to change room booking twice. It was very professional handled. The team were extremely accommodating and helpful, highly recommended.
Having traveled all over the world, i know what a 5-star hotel is suppose to be. And i know what travelers want when staying at a 5-star hotel. The Jing An Shangri-La is the hotel to beat. The rooms are spacious and modern, linens top quality, shower are superb and the nespresso machine (including various flavored pods) is an extremely nice surprise. The gym is also excellent - with its many cardio & weightlifting machines, free weights, fresh towels, bottled water, and just the right level of music, you cant help but want to spend some time there. The locker rooms are very well maintained! Although the rooms and gym are spectacular, it is however the service at the Jing An that really sets it apart from other hotels! From the moment you check in, until the moment you jump into a taxi heading back to the airport, you truly feel like a special, valued, appreciated guest. The maid service is impeccable. Room service when dining in, is always efficient and the staff extremely courteous, respectful and actually quite pleasant to have a quick chat with. The Horizon Lounge is also a glorious reason to stay at the Jing An. The Happy Hours and late evening cocktails are a perfect way to end a hectic day. The space is relaxing, comfortable, without being too pretentious; and of course the staff working there are always EXTREMELY helpful and accommodating. If there is something you need or want, they are always there for you. If you are lucky enough to be at the Horizon Lounge while JUPERT is working, consider yourself lucky. All the staff are AMAZING, however on several occasions, when coming "home" late after a very long day at work, Jupert went above and beyond what was expected to ensure the remainder of my stressful day was effortless, assisting with ordering dinner as well as getting in that "one last cocktail" before the bar closed :-). Very much appreciated! and this goes to the rest of the staff at the Jing An as well. I have several choices of hotels to pick from when traveling to Shanghai several times over the next few months; and I will choose the Jing An every time. The highlight for me will be in July, when my partner travels to Shanghai with me and gets to experience the Jing An as well; and will finally get to understand what all the "hype" is about. A great hotel with great people!
Every detail about my stay at this hotel was an absolute pleasure, from their amazing buffet, to the club lounge, and the room. My words cannot express how amazing it all was. No detail is missed, they truly make everyone feel like a VIP.
It was a nice week at Shangri-la. Besides proximity to shopping and work, I like the fresh flowers deco that provides warm welcome to visitors. Visited the gym several times and liked the range of equipment. Overall, very good stay.
I can’t say enough about how wonderful this hotel is. It is brand new and accommodations are top notch. The staff was so accommodating and helpful. Anything I needed was in my room within 5 minutes. The breakfast buffet and restaurants on site were outstanding. I have stayed here twice and each stay was superb. I recommend this hotel to all of my coworkers and plan to stay here whenever I am in Shanghai! Photo is the view from my room.
The concierge couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. Best of all, after a long flight, the beds were fantastic. Sparkling clean throughout. Fairly well located and a walkable area. Very close to the metro and when I figured out the directions and options, I spent more time walking. Even walkable to the Shanghai Museum and the Apple store. And I loved the in hotel restaurant.
We spent two nights here during our trip to China. It is adjacent to a mall with lots of other shopping centres nearby. The hotels pretty new- lots of light and airy public spaces. Our room has a super size king bed and lovely bathroom with L'Occitane toiletries. Bed very comfortable and the hotel has a blanket in the wardrobe in case you find the doona too hot. Only problem with our room was that the A/C control did not work well - it was set too cold and turning the thermostat up had no effect. Breakfast in thecae in the mornings was excellent - good range of food and expresso coffee available. Good spacious gym and indoor pool.
We normally stay at the Puli but we wanted to experiment and try something different so I convinced my wife that we give shangri la a try. We booked the grand executive room which was quite nice for us because we have a 9 month old toddler. When it’s time for his bed we can close the door and have our privacy to ourselves without distracting his sleep. In some hotels when the baby sleeps we sleep. Our first impression of the room was very spacious. But my wife is super sensitive to smoke and our room smelled like smoke. The hotel staff urgently was able to accommodate us with some air purifiers and also relocate us the the next day which we declined. Like all shangri la hotels in China when you book a non smoking room, expect that the room had been smoked in. The gym was nice and modern. Had all the bells and whistle that you needed for a quick workout. The location was superb. Walking distance to the reel mall where there are many selections of restaurants and small bites. The only downside to this hotel was the breakfast and the cigarette smell in the room. This hotel is very local so you can imagine the breakfast having limited options for western food. But if you like gelato for breakfast, then I guess this is the hotel for you lol. Will we be back? Yes. But would really hope to see management be more strict against smokers and having more western/better quality of bread options during breakfast.
The room we stayed in is spacious and has it’s own living space separate from the bedroom. The room is nicely decorated and come with the expected modern amenities. The services on the Club Lounge is professional but warm and the breakfast is excellent. You could order from the breakfast menu in addition to a wide selections or cold and hot dishes on the buffet counter. The hotel is in the CBD thus it is central to everything. Would definitely stay again.
