Good room. Choose mountain view for a better sleep. Ask for third or fourth floor. And don't be too much in a hurry when you want to be served... Good food at the bar and Indian restaurant. Don't go to the buffet : too expensive and the food is just acceptable.
Shame the service, was not up to scratch!! I used to spend most of my weekends at the Coral Strand as a young girl growing up, and when I went back to the Seychelles as a adult with my family, I wanted to visit the Coral strand as I have found memories due to my late father, who helped in the design/construct the hotel and wanted to show it to his grand-children. I was bitterly disappointed and sadden by the experience. We had been to the beach and had arrange to meet some old family friends who lived on the island there for lunch and catch up with them. You show never judge a book by it cover!!! As a hotel, customer service is paramount and it does not matter what you look like, as long as you can pay your bill at the end of the day. I am pleased to read the other reviews of those who stayed there as honeymooners and guest, but if you are an outsider of the hotel, the same level of service should be expected throughout as you never know who you are dealing with in the public eye.
Spent New Years Eve at this nice hotel. Staff were friendly, music was good and vibey even though it rained a couple of times. The drinks were just as expensive like all the other resorts in the area. Made an effort to entertain the guests with fire dancers and a huge bonfire after the count down. Good atmosphere and a nice setting.
My brother stayed here and the rooms are tiny. We stayed next door and at the last minute joined the new years eve dinner. 150 Euro a head! They ran out of lobster after less than 10% of the tables had half each. Nothing special and no drinks included. The cheapest wine on the menu SR450 and SR150 for 500ml beer. I questioned the advertised price of SR1500 to be told this is for locals only. Seychelles is generally very expensive but this place takes the cake.
Hi, I was here at this wonderfully located hotel, with beautiful views. Me and my wife spent our honeymoon at this paradise, and the hotel staff was very friendly from giving us early check in to accommodate my request for decorating my room with flowers, and going over the board with serving complimentary wine and fruit platter. We had a standard ocean view, and rooms were always clean on time, along with clean bed sheets. Restaurant serve delicious breakfast, and has a very nice Indian restaurant option as well. The hotel has a beach bar overlooking the best beach. I loved my stay!! Thanks! Saumitra & Tanu
Booked a sea view room and paid a premium but when we arrived we were told it was no longer available and downgraded us to mountain view. They compensated us with breakfast, which was not great. Not that much choice and in retrospect shouldn't have accepted it as compensation. At the check in informed the gala dinner was included in our rate but then they changed their minds and wanted 150Euro each to attend on 31st December. Rooms furnitures were dated, windows were dirty. On the plus side the hotel is right next to a nice long beach, the Indian restaurant is good, the wifi is free as is the parking.
Good location with access to many other nicer resorts. Hotel itself is a nice stay, they staff were very kind and helpful. The facilities aren't great, but the ones of the sister resort next door are.
Beware of the “mandatory” gala dinners that cost €110/person (not per room) on Xmas and €140/ person New Year’s. At check in, there is no mention of the “mandatory” dinners. We decided to eat elsewhere because the food and entertainment were not worth €330. When asking the assistant manager about this issue, he became vulgar and condescending, telling us we didn’t travel enough to know the rules and that we will be charged regardless. The housekeeping staff is very helpful, but the upper management is awful. Prices are exorbitant in general on the island. They rent the room they use for breakfast to outside parties at least 3 times a week. These parties go on until 3 am; 4 nights during the 10 days we were there. It is loud and impossible to sleep. The last night there were two loud parties in the courtyard and in the restaurant. We didn’t fall asleep until 4:00 am with a 10:00 am checkout the same morning. Most of the lodgers are retirement age. So, the upper management needs to decide if it’s a party hotel or a relaxing hotel. The loud parties didn’t work for us. Not recommended for families with small children.
This a lovely hotel on the beach at Beau Vallon. The location is superb. It’s a great place to chill out. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The pace of life here is relaxed and laid back. The management went out of their way to attend to any request.
Great choice for requested money. Hotel is direct on the beach ( one of the best beach on Mahe). Swimming is jumping on waves. Cleaning rooms daily veeery good. Thank you! Staff was friendly, many russian speaking. Just one sad moment we have when they push with forse to buy Christmas dinner, we almost fight with man with long disgusting hair. Thanks for Mihail for solve this situation. also thanks for Michael and ladies from reception and guestrelation. Thanks for Riko for great trip to Praslin and La Digue! Restaurants was nice with choice of local fish, also they have chicken, sushi and selection of nice cocktails, but capuchino they made nice from second try. I’d like to recommend to try octopus carpaccio, fish kebab, cheese cake was super tasty. Was nice surprise about free using of neighbor hotel savoy facilities as pool, beach, gym and 10% discount for restaurants!
