The cabin was conveniently located near everything in Pigeon Forge, but the surrounding area left a lot to be desired. Some nearby cabins and homes looked a bit sketchy, and there was quite a bit of trash around the area. The street leading into it also really needs paving.
The cabin itself was decent, but for what was offered (even during Thanksgiving), it felt overpriced. When we arrived, two of the three entry doors were unlocked, which was unsettling. As soon as we walked in, we were hit with an overwhelming bug-spray smell. Within about 20 minutes, everyone had headaches and nausea, and I actually ended up getting sick. We had to open all the doors to air the place out.
There were spiderwebs in the windows, showers, and corners throughout the cabin. Although the listing stated “no pets,” there was white animal hair all over the inside and outside, and it stuck badly to our clothes. The iron and ironing board were unusable. In the downstairs bedroom closet, pillows, an uncovered ironing board, a chessboard, extra blankets, and books were all tossed in a pile on the floor and shelf.
Several dishes in the cabinet were still wet when we went to use them. And even though the property is listed as non-smoking, there was a half-smoked joint left on an outside chair when we arrived.
It also would’ve been nice to have some board games and a fireplace that actually warmed the place.
Overall, the cabin isn’t the worst place to stay, but the cleanliness and upkeep definitely
