Our stay was great. If you’re reading the reviews, I figure you’ve read all the nice things the owner said and want the skinny. This is a solid rental but here’s what I wish I knew beforehand:
No joke about the inclines. If it was raining or snowy I don’t know how you’d make it w/o 4wd. Not a deal breaker but if you’ve never been to this part of the world you need to mentally prepare for the feeling that your car might not make it up the hill.
The house is super cute. Very new. The back porch makes it worth the drive, I promise. Hot tub every night. We saw a bobcat, coyote, and a BEAR from the patio. You’re up pretty high fTom the ground so it was more of a zoo viewing and less of a ‘The Great Outdoors’ moment.
The kitchen is the most minimally stocked I’ve ever encountered. I expected some oil and spices. Just salt and pepper. That is all. The cookware isn’t nonstick so bring oil yourself. Bring your own DW detergent because you will need to do a nightly load if you cook and plan to have dishes to use the next day.
It’s a small home so if your family likes to end the day on the couch, it holds 3. There isn’t room for any other LR furniture. I don’t think it’s fair to say this can host 5 people unless the 5th is a tiny person who can sleep on the 3-seater couch (not a fold out). This house is essentially 1 big room, so if you’re an introvert who needs some space, plan for a long shower.
Overall, great place with a few things to make sure you know before you go!
