Girls' trip
Friends for over 50 years stayed at this wonderful home. Everything was wonderful, from the communication, check-in through check-out reminders. The only "downside" was the busy street the house was located on, BUT that was easily ignored since we were located so close to the waterfront and the historic district. Had a great stay and would highly recommend this house.

One of the renters
My group of 7 had a fine time in Savannah. The house we stayed at was not in the best shape. This is the list all 7 of us came up with.Several hand towel hooks are broke. One bathroom tub stopper was broken, there were 3 stopper in various bathrooms missing. The maintenance man brought 2 stoppers but only one worked. Frayed wire on a lamp in one of the bottom bedrooms. Could be a fire hazard.TV did not work in our bedroom for 3 days, the maintenance man had to come to repair it 2 times and he finally switched out the tv with a bottom bedroom tv.There was construction material around the backyard and side yard, and garage. The faucet in the kitchen is very loose. The maids or inspection person should have caught it.Light bulb out in the formal dining area.Patio umbrellas are filthy. There was one hairdryer not working. In one bathroom there was one washcloth for the whole week.No cereal bowls. There are torn curtains and peeling paint throughout the house. All people really liked the towels. We also enjoyed having the garage to park.Thank You

Great location
College gals celebrating 42 years of friendship! So rare to find a house with 5 beds and baths in a great location. We were able to walk to several restaurants and shops. The staff was quick to answer any questions we had. Check in was a breeze. Now, this is a very old house and there are LOTS of steps, so if you have mobility issues it may not be the right choice for you. There are old house quirks, but it adds to the charm. The kitchen is well appointed. Many folks said the house was too warm, but we felt the air conditioning worked just fine. There are plenty of fans also if you need more cooling. It is very nice to have private parking too….a rarity in Savannah.

Great location - had some issues
The location of this property was great. Within walking distance to everything downtown and the Riverfront. We did experience some issue while there. We couldn't use the dishwasher or kitchen sink for the first 2days. It was repaired however it was done while we were trying to have a family dinner. Also during our stay the gardener decided it was time to trim all the hedges and bushes, which made for a very noisy morning. The house is old, but the floors were not the cleanest and some of the bathrooms smelled moldy.

Club 57
In our family there were five (5) cousins born the same year. We celebrate vacations together with our spouses at various destinations. This year we met in Savannah, Georgia. We stayed at the Spanish Moss House on E Bay Street. The house is well equipped for dining in, a patio with bistro tables on the back of the house, a front porch for people watching, a short walk to River Street and accommodations for five couples to be very comfortable. This historic home is roomy and comfortable, and the decor is fitting for the era of the home.Robinson Family

In for awedding
We came for a family wedding. The home was walking distance from the venue and nearby shops and restaurants. It is nice to have a place to stay that still provides each person the privacy they would not have at a hotel without several rooms.
We were very happy with our stay.

Location is amazing. History of house is amazing. Was able to see large ships from front porch. Only real negatives are the in room portable AC units and the community pool. Hard to install AC ducts in a historic house and appreciated them as it was hot when we were there. Community pool is a drive to get to and very small. Just pivoted and went to the beach instead once we saw it in person.

Wonderful house in an excellent location!
Our group of seven women who met MANY years ago but now live in states from Alaska to Florida normally have a difficult time finding a house like this. This home is exceptional because it has:
5 bedrooms, each with a beautiful king bed and a bathroom, a garage to save hassles of parking, a sun room and backyard terrace, a super front porch from which to observe historic Savannah, a responsive host team, and best of all, AN EXCELLENT LOCATION!!!

Great location
The location was great and I loved the king beds. Outdoor setup was also really nice along with plenty of space.
The upstairs bedroom was warm even with the AC. Getting in was very easy and the check out process was very quick with minimal lift (no stripping beds, loading washing machine, garbage bin effort, etc.).
It was a bit musty upon arrival but I think it is just the nature of the old house. Overall it is a great spot to stay if you are looking to explore Savannah with a group of people.

I would rent this home again.
For being the age that the house is, it was in pretty good condition. Everyone that stayed in the house during our vacation loved the home and looked up some of the history on it since it was actually moved from another location in Savannah. We plan to rent the house again in the future.

Awesome stay!
We loved this house for our girls weekend in Savannah. The location was perfect, walkable to almost everywhere we wanted to go. It was very spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed its historic vibes. The only negative was the critter living in the house. We could hear it running around and it also got into a package of toilet paper in the middle of the night.

The property was very clean and spacious. We had 10 adults and never felt crowded at all. Location is great, you are on the main road, and can hear the traffic. The fire pit didn’t work, they tried to fix it but think it just needs to be replaced. Would stay here again if looking for a large spacious home.

Great Place for a group Bachelorette Trip
This was a great place to stay with a large group. We had a lot of space to move about for the different activities that we had planned. On top of that, we didn't have to Uber to any of our locations around Savannah. Our longest walk was 12 minutes and the area is cute to walk around. It was a great bonus to get to stay in such an old and historic house!

Great Location and Great Communication
I rented this property for my sister’s bachelorette party. There was 10 girls total and everyone was able to sleep in a bed. All beds were King size which was very nice! We were also walking distance to pretty much everything!! When arriving everything was clean except the beds. They seemed to have been stripped but the bedding was wadded up on the beds. We contacted the office and they immediately sent someone out to fix this. We also lost power on 2 floors and after contacting the office they sent someone out right away. Even with these issues, we were very pleased with the response time! The office even allowed us to check out late due to this. I would definitely stay here again and recommend for a large group!

Many Quirks and Concerns
Spanish Moss Inn is an old building, so expect some frustrating issues. The pass code only worked on the back door. The front door is not usable - locked outside and inside - so the main exit available was the back door. Not real safe conditions. Some kitchen outlets (including a GFI outlet) did not work when we arrived; we learned later that it was caused by a closed circuit breaker in a oddly located circuit box. Also, several outlets in the 3rd floor bedroom were not working. We found they are connected to the GFI outlet in the bathroom. Note that bedroom is not connected to the main HVAC system; it is cooled by a room A/C, which wasn't working. We had to search for some portable fans to help cool the bedroom by blowing air from the [cool] hallway into the room. After advising the management team about the issue, they sent a repairman to get it working. However, it was extremely noisy and didn't cool too well. BTW, the Inn supplies only one bath towel and one washcloth per person in each bedroom. And it only provides one kitchen washcloth and towel. Bring your own towels! Note that the 3rd floor bathroom is very small, particularly the shower; also, the toilet and sink are placed directly under some rather low rafters; I accidentally banged my head on them several times. Two of the bedrooms are in the basement, which was a bit damp. The floors on the first floor were rather dirty when we checked in.

Grand Old House
The house is a large, grand old house within walking distance to many things. The common areas and bedrooms are large and decorated in high quality period furniture. The house is clean and the beds are very comfortable. Towels were large and fluffy. The following are worth noting: The house is on a busy street, some areas need some TLC (exterior, kitchen, basement door, stairwells), the baths and showers are not oversized as indicated in the description, two bedrooms are in the basement and one is on the 3rd floor, a few airvents need to be cleaned, furniture and knicknacks could be reduced to make the house flow better and feel less cluttered.
