It’s a 40 minute walk down hill, along the cobbled sidewalks, right the way through town to get to the hotel. It’s an old hotel, and I would say it’s in need of attention. Very, very narrow, steep stairs to climb with luggage. Noisy in the hallways as people enter and leave their rooms. And if you get the single bedroom, beware the distance between the toilet and the wall is so tight, you will have to sit sideways. Also the absolute hardest bed I’ve ever slept in. Honestly felt like cement. Fine for one night but no more. And with a view of the parking lot, you could hear people coming and going.

This is a nice hotel but when we were there the internet wasn't working. Rather than telling us up front, the proprietor pretended not to know. That was a bit disappointing. Otherwise no complaints.

We were transferred to Hotel Compostelle (same owner) next door. Our room had a nice terrace and the hotel a pool. Breakfasts were good. Reception very helpful, recommending some good restaurants.

Nice Location and Friendly Proprietor

This pleasant hotel was located a few blocks from the old town area of Sarlat. It was a good location for walking into the area and offered a nice parking area. The owner was friendly and helpful. Sarlat ended up being a very good location for visiting the Dordogne region, including Lascaux.

Gods location. Five minutes walk from the old city. Clean rooms. Quite basic. Excellent service. Very convenient parking behind the hotel (7 Euro per day). Good value for money.

Worth more than two stars

Our room was spacious and looked over the pleasant treelined, grassy carpark. There is no lift and the stairs are narrow but the manager took care of our luggage with a smile. The location is excellent for visiting the medieval city as well as for getting out of Sarlat easily.
