This hotel is beautifully situated in the quiet village of Akrotiri. Caldera beach with diving center is within walking distance. The terrace is very nicely decorated and a very pleasant place to enjoy a drink. The pool area is a beautiful place to hang out, decorated with flowers and Palm trees Our room was large and simple with a very cosy balcony with bougainville flowers. The shower drainage needed some repair but was okay for us. Breakfast was continental thus minimal. Hot supplements could be ordered extra. All in all a very pleasant place to stay.
Just returned from a excellent chilled out week in beautiful Santorini. Hotel is a small chilled out family run property, which is kept spotless clean all the time. The staff are all very friendly and very helpful if you need anything, special mention to George who runs the reception as hes always polite and helpful should you require any information or trips booking, and to the girls in the restaurant, Anna and Irene who kept us in food and drinks all served with a friendly smile.Rooms are clean and adequate with good A/C and nice balcony. Pool and Sunbeds all OK and was always easy to find a good spot for sunbathing. Akrotiri is only a small village but there are 4 greek tavernas and a tapas bar within easy walking distance from the resort. We did a Catamarran trip to the volcano and the caldera, red beach and white beach which was a great laugh, also a good idea to hire a car or quad bike if you want to do more exploring of the island. Capital Thira is a stunning city with stunning views although very busy when cruise liners are in.All in all a great relaxing week ,good weather, nice people what more could anyone want, Thanks to everyone from Dave and Debbie.
The staff and owners were polite. The towels were old and not soft. It has beautiful pool and clean. The breakfast was very poor, they didn't even have basic things, like honey, eggs etc. When we arrived there some things were missing like cake and etc . we asked them to bring at least cake they said 'it's coming' but nothing came until 10 oclock at which tpime they started collecting the stuff. The next day they brought 6 to 7 pieces of cake and said that's it finished ! The room was very clean, there was a small balcony and they have nice parking but generally THE MONEY WHAT WE GAVE DIDN'T WORTH WITH WHAT WE GOT.
We only dropped by to have lunch here - with limited vegetarian options we tried their Greek pizza. Food was good with fresh ingredients. Ambience is very soothing and the music is good too. All in all a very pleasant afternoon.
We really enjoyed our stay. Akrotiri is a good option to avoid the crowds of Fira & Oia, while good as a base for Santorini (we had a hire car). You can walk from the hotel (15mins) to the archeological site & to Red Beach (good snorkeling), & the pool is great. The manager had some good advice on things to do, without being pushy about booking trips. The staff were very friendly in general, & the family room was clean & comfortable.
When we arrived at the hotel we had booked into we were told that it didn't accept children under 12. Ours were 3 & 5. After a call to our travel agent they found us some alternative accommodation at this wonderful gem of a hotel. And how pleased we were! The owners and all the staff are super friendly (and great with the kids!). Our room was lovely with a small mezzanine area with a double bed, and a pull out sofa bed in the living area. We also had a little balcony. The pool area was great, and very clean. Breakfast was fine, similar to what you get all over Greece. It was the same every day but we always found enough to eat (the yoghurt and honey are particularly good!). The breakfast staff also always made a point of asking if we had enough things for the boys to eat. We found the restaurant prices to be comparable to other places in the area although we only ate lunch there. We had a lovely stay and wished we were here for longer!
Stay was comfortable. We had a room with a view of the pool.. Breakfast was included, so it worked out. The manager was really nice and arranged our ATV for us. We checked in at 2 am and there were no issues, except the we had to knock the reception room a couple of times. Place is clean, and is kept clean. It is not too far from the main tourist destinations like oia and fira. But if you are up for an adventure of riding an atv throughout the island , this is perfect. With an atv, the place is an hour away from the oia. I know it sounds far, but riding an atv on this island is fun. A lot of fun.. Manager arranged taxi to the port for us when we were checking out. I know of hotels that would provide this service at no cost, but it is still not a lot of money so it didn't really matter.
Very average food, not really anything exciting. This was the second worst restaurant we visited in Akrotiri. We didn't even receive a bill to check, the waitress simply told us what we owed. In hindsight we should have insisted as it was well over the expected cost of the evening. Regretful dinner :(
Santorini is a Greek island I have wanted to visit for sometime, so when this came up as a package with Secret Escapes we jumped at it. We had no idea really where we would be staying, but having checked out other reviews the hotel seemed to be quite good. What a find, it was well placed to the south of the island with some lovely little restaurants near by. The advantage of staying here meant we had to get transport to see the rest of the island, and we booked a quad bike for three days, plus a sea trip to the active volcano one day. We had the most amazing time, and the hotel was the perfect place to return to each evening. Although not one of the most luxurious rooms, our room was more than adequate with air conditioning and a small balcony with a sea view. The room was cleaned and serviced with fresh towels every day, and if you needed towels for the pool, they were readily available. We bought our own towels though because if you want to visit the beaches, the hotel will not let you take their towels! Can't blame them as it is volcanic ash not sand - but some beaches hardly have any one on them if you visit early in the season. The food was adequate - but breakfast was a bit relentless in the limit of choice, plus they served up tinned fruit cocktail every morning to go with the fresh Greek yogurt which was disappointing - fresh would have been better. The yogurt was yummy and so was the honey. We only had two meals, one lunch and one evening meal, and again they were OK, but not outstanding, and we would not have eaten there every day, simply because we were out and about. Don't stay here if you want vibrant night life. But if you want a lovely typical Greek hotel with lovely staff this an excellent place to stay. It is good value for money and has had some recent updating as it has been taken over by the Best Western Group, if I were the owners I would keep that fact quiet, as BW are not one of my favourite groups. The owners are still managing the hotel and they are really welcoming and helpful, so the atmosphere is just right. High recommend.
We have travelled from Argentina to experience Cicladas.. in my opinion one of my favorite places in the world!. We spent 5 nights with friends in BW in August 2015 and it was FANTASTIC! Akrotiri is a quite place to stay, surrounded with nice restaurants (I really recommend to stop over "El Uruguayo", walking distance the hotel and try the seafood pasta) and a beautiful area. From the very first moment we felt at home in BW. They accomodate us in a spacious 3 bedded room, breakfast is amazing and the outdoor swimming pool just perfect!. A Wow factor for us was the service and that for sure marked the difference!.
