Good but photos are misleading - and it is in the middle of nowhere, with NO shuttle bus. This is a collection of nice rooms in Messaria. Make sure you look at a map before you book this - you WILL need a car to get around, or spend a lot of money on taxis. Pre-booked taxi from the airport was E20 for a 5 minute ride, getting to the main town of Thera was E15 each way. It IS walkable but a good 25-30 minutes on roads with no pavements and ransom driving. The literature referred to a 7times a day shuttlebus - it doesn't exist. There is no common area or bar at Altera Pars, just a reception with pretty friendly staff. Breakfast is brought to your room and is excellent. Rooms have either a small pool or a large jacuzzi/hot tub. They SAY the water is heated, and it is - just not very much. Our hot tub was way too cold to use and we only ever paddled in it for a few minutes at a time - a real let-down. The weather was pretty warm but the water definitely needed to be warmer. The island is brilliant. I wouldn't stay here again though. If this has been useful, please give me a thumbs up helpful click!
We stayed at this place for 5 days. The crew are so kind and helpful. The service is sublime. We had 2 suites. 1 with private pool and the other was the honeymoon suite, with hot tube and sea view. We enjoyed from the moment we arrived.
We stayed for the first week in June and were lucky enough to have the suite with a private pool and two outside seating areas. It was immaculately clean and the service was First Class. Nothing was too much trouble. A very special mention to Panos who is amazing, always smiling and super efficient. Breakfast was delivered on time each morning and whisked away once finished. Effie is also wonderful and runs the establishment perfectly. Excellent and highly recommended!
We arrived here late at night and were greeted by friendly Panos who gave us such a warm welcome and suggested where to go for food. The room was absolute paradise. So comfortable. So clean. Free coffee every day and the best breakfast we’ve ever had in life. Fantastic location and great facilities. Effie equally fantastic and made us feel so relaxed. Truly a holiday in Heaven
4 of stayed for 3 nights in the honeymoon suites. Top marks for everything, from bedroom, lounge, balcony, hot tubs and service. Also free shuttle bus to Fira 7 times a day. Excellent helpful staffs. Needs to add a few towel rails or hooks on the walls.
Had a week at Altera Pars. We had a suite with private spa plunge pool. It was a perfect location to explore the whole island. Transport is necessary. That is really true wherever you are on the island. It is less than 30 minutes to get anywhere. Altera Pars is a superbly appointed and comfortable place. We couldn't have asked for more. It is quiet and relaxed. We were looked after very well with very nice breakfast delivered to our suite every morning. I would highly recommend. I would recommend the Volkan open air restaurant and cinema on the Fira/Firotstefani cliff path and the sunset cruise on the Tag catamaran.
I just left the suits now and it was very confortable and special for Who wont spent a specialmente moment togheter her/his partner. All its hospitable and the service is very good The suit always clean and all in order Wish to be again there ad soon as possible
The suites are just perfect! The staff is very friendly with the guests, best value for money, the location is near the airport and also close to phira! You must visit Altera Pars Suites! I will come buck for sure!
Very high standard level, beautiful place, very clean rooms, well furnished, pleasant and warm staff, perfect location to visit the most important places around beautiful Santorini. I really recommend Altera Pars Suites to couples searching for a luxury accomodation in a quiet place.
I am disgusted with this business. They are downright liars. I have wasted money and time trying to obtain a refund (which I plan to keep fighting until I receive something) due to our horrid experience. Here is a letter I have written to my travel agent having to detail everything that had occurred to which this business have told absolute lies. Steer clear and go elsewhere whilst you can. Hi Travel Agent Name, As per your request, I am detailing precisely what happened. We were greeted upon arrival by Dimitrius and a lady (whose name escapes me). As such, we were asked to go through formalities of passport scanning so as to keep on their file. From here, we were directed to our room thinking all was well. The abovementioned lady gave us a tour of our room and the very last thing she mentioned was (to quote her) “By the way, the pool heater will not be working due to municipality issues.” To which I asked how long would this be for, and to quote her “I am not sure, could be the day could the week, am not sure but the heater in the pool will not work sorry.”. I was asked whether this issue was known prior to us checking in and to quote her again “yes this was scheduled in, we are sorry.” So we weren’t informed of a service we paid for and didn’t receive it. If we would’ve know of this issue, this would’ve changed our mind in staying there. It’s a holiday that people pour their life savings into and the fact they were quick to take our hard earned money and not advise of this known issue is just not good enough. As such, and upon reflection of this news, my partner thought to confront the above mentioned lady to seek further clarity around the duration of the heater not working within the pool. Meanwhile, my partner and I could hear other Jacuzzis turned on around us and we felt a tad ripped off because we were looking forward to our night swims that would be heated. When Jess confronted the above mentioned lady and asked about the duration of this issue occurring, she was faced with a very rude lady who pretty well fobbed her off and said “we don’t know ok, that’s all I know, wait for the manager to come tomorrow and take it up with him.” My partner came back feeling very distressed as we are meant to be on holidays and this is an issue we did not foresee. I was not happy. So we stayed the night and I woke up in pool of sweat. The air conditioner had gone off and my phone was dead. I suspected a power outage of sorts. So I went down to reception and met the manager. I asked how long will the power be out to which he responded “I don’t know sorry.” Again I asked if this was a known outage to which he responded “Yes, but things should be back up….but I can’t tell you.” This manager seems very smug and shifty that I did not believe him…..I suspected he was trying to save power in certain times of the day because within seconds the power was back up. However, the pool heater still was not fixed, and the manager still couldn’t articulate when this would he just said you have to wait and see. Well this is just not good enough!!!! We are there for a short time, and spent great money and travelled on the other side of the world……to not even be told of this prior to our stay. We feel cheated and absolutely ripped off. Their attitude absolutely makes me sick. So we decided to leave. I would never recommend this place to anyone – made our stay rotten. Steer clear and go elsewhere.
