We stayed here in between gaps in flights and it worked perfectly for that need. Transvip shuttle took us there quickly (maybe 5 minute wait) and the hourly shuttle in the morning was prompt. Room was good size and clean with a comfy bed. Pool and small hot tub was nice for relaxing. Dinner at hotel restaurant was fine and really the only option. Hotel staff was friendly and spoke English. Would recommend if you need a place to stay near the airport.
We chose this hotel because of its closeness to the airport (about 4-5 kms) since we had a 6am flight. Nothing special about the stay, except it has an indoor swiming pool (very small) and the gym on the second floor. And the convenience of the its underground parking lot. If you are on a business or needs to stay near the airport, this should be the convenient choice.
Where to start ... THE SHUTTLE from the airport -- The hotel has an arrangement with TransVIP to provide free transportation from the airport. Go to "gate" 3 and TransVIP will confirm your reservation with the Hilton, and off you go. The first trip I made here I was unaware of the arrangement and with no functional phone, I was scammed for $20US for the trip by people with official looking name tags working outside the terminal. If someone approaches you outside, go back inside and try again. THE LOCATION -- If all you need is to be close to the airport, this hotel is great. If you decide you want to wander or even get non-hotel food this is not the hotel. It is located in an industrial district and there are no walk-able alternatives except a gas station up the road. THE SHUTTLE to Mall/Metro -- There are scheduled times the hotel shuttle will take guests (free) either to the local mall or the closest Metro terminus. The posted times in Dec2017 to leave were 12:00pm and 3:00pm, returning respectively about 3:15pm and 6:15pm. THE SHUTTLE back to the airport --- Things get really weird here. There are posted times for the free shuttle, outside of those times the driver charges a fee he determines at the time (I'd ask him before you leave to be sure). Once we were told it would be free, but then it wasn't (luckily a very kind Chilean businessman paid for the entire shuttle (about $12000CLP) for the entire shuttle's 6am trip. TAXI -- I was told the shuttle was unavailable for the return trip to the airport so I asked the girl at the front desk about getting a taxi. She told me there were none available at the time ... what!? I just looked at her for a moment and went to sit down, at that precise moment it was decided the shuttle was available -- see weird above. He provided me a free ride, but I tipped him and all seemed well. THE HOTEL -- The hotel was clean and reasonably up to Hilton Garden standards. It was well guarded if you care about those things. THE RESTAURANT -- Meh. It's okay. The buffet gave you lots of food but like most Chilean tourists times - expensive for what you got. The empanadas were a joke. THE STAFF -- Fantastic, very friendly and helpful. My favorite part. Luis at the front desk is particularly helpful as were the cleaning staff for the rooms. Where to end .. If your primary concern is being close to the airport this is a good choice. If you want to be close to better food and entertainment options stay at the Hilton in town.
We arrived at 11:30 pm December 23. The check in was extremely efficient. Rodrigo was the person at the front desk. Alas the restaurant was closed (by 11 pm). No room service. I think an airport hotel should know guests arrive at all hour of the night and should have some restaurant service. However, Rodrigo offered us what was available at the Mini bar area (muffins, crackers, soda) without charging us. He was exactly the epitome of someone in the service industry. He also offered to photocopy my bus ticket for me for a bus we were taking from Punta Arenas to puerto Natales. We have been at this hotel 3 years ago. We returned because we also had good service the last time. Room is modern and clean. It is true, however, what someone had commented on prior, that it is close to the airport, yet the route seemed circuitous (cab has to exit highway and make weird turns and u turns to get to hotel). The official taxi in airport said the cost was a whopping 30 dollar for a 10 minute ride. We said no and took a chance on an unofficial cab for 15 dollars. This hotel has a free shuttle TO the airport on the hour. Would be super if they offered same FROM airport.
I just wanted to know if this being a "Hilton" hotel that there should be an English speaking manager at the front desk as well as in the restaurant. I changed to a Hilton hotel because the Spanish speaking B&B we previously booked would have a language barrier. Well, we also had a language barrier at this hotel unfortunately. We had the hardest time trying to get directions to get to the city and options from front desk (language barrier) so we just called an uber to drive us there and pay the bucks. The shower was something you would expect in Japan. My tall husband had to use the extension because the shower head no longer was in use. The extension was about waist length so he would have to go on his knees if wanted to use a shower head. I also felt sad for the restaurant manager, we had ordered an average meal but while sitting there, two tables on our right and left had left unhappy. I felt sad for the restaurant staff but if there was an English speaking server/manager, these issues would not happen.
This hotel is very hard to get to even though it is close to the airport. Plus there is NOTHING close by. Our room had a layer of dust on a shelf over the coffee service and no shampoo. In the restaurant, they attempted to pad the bill with unordered and unreceived water, plus a drunk fly fell into my glass. They offered a new beer, which I declined. They required that I pay for the original beer with the extra protein.
This is our preferred place for short stays between flights or to catch up with jet-lag. More expensive that nearby alternative accommodation, Hilton sets itself apart in terms of quality, customer care and facilities. Hilton's quality promise, which actually is for real and works, takes away a certain degree of stress associated with modern international travel. We feel safe and appreciate responsiveness of staff. Getting to the hotel with the free TransVip service used to be rather unpleasant, but during our last visit the friendliness at their desk and the wait times had significantly improved. Hilton's own service from hotel to airport or to a nearby mall is very good.
It's was a great hotel. Clean with a very courteous staff. The pool was perfect for our kids The VIP transport was terrible. They made us sit with out kids on our laps in the way back with our carry-ons for 20 min before we left so they could pack the van with people. We were then last ones to be dropped off. The whole process took over an hour for a five minute ride, and this is at 12 midnight with little kids. The van driver then almost drove off with our luggage after dropping us off.
We stayed overnight only and it was a late flight from Papeete/Easter Island. Taxi to the hotel didn't take long although it was in the middle of an industrial park. The room was great and luxurious after the long flight from Papeete. As it was Oct 31, there were Halloween motifs everywhere and the staff were well into the spirit of the occasion. This did not interfere with their very good service and the restaurant stayed open so we could have a late dinner. Breakfast in the restaurant was very good and nothing was too much trouble. When we booked in to the hotel, we mentioned that we wanted a car next morning (late) to go to Valparaiso and the hotel had a car arrive at the appointed time as requested. No problems, and the car driver was excellent. Will be staying again when next in transit overnight.
I had an early flight out of Santiago and stayed yet another night here. Due to its distance from the center of Santiago, I tend not to stay here as regularly, but I like the property and the staff here. Rooms are comfortable and quiet. I did not have time to have breakfast, yet again. The airport shuttle can be tricky if you do not navigate well in Spanish. TransVip has a contract with the hotel to go from SCL. On the way to the airport they have a private shuttle that works great.
