When a hotel has a pool, mini golf course, big rooms, is clean and has a big shower, it is a shame to be disappointed with it. It is the location. It was an uphill hike from the historic centre of San Miguel....or a taxi ride. There aren’t many restaurants or facilities around it. Since it wasn’t at the Center of San Miguel, I figured it would be quiet. But I could hear trucks on the highway, people walking by my room, and I think two rooms share a vent or something in bathroom? As I heard noises from next door. But if you are happy to take a taxi, then the amenities would be worth it. And there are likely rooms not right next to pool that are quieter. If I travelled here again, I’d likely try to be in historic Center as I’d prefer that to amenities.
I spent one night here, it was nice. The only issue was that the door to the adjoining room was like an amplifier. The folks that care in late were loud and did wake me. Buț after the inițial jolt, I never heard them again. (I don’t know if they changed rooms.) The other negative was that there was not a safe in the room. I was told that the front desk would keep my “valuables”. I did feel safe, the grounds and room itself were clean and immaculate. The car park is across the street, and a gentleman was guarding the parking area. I did have some Quesadillas from the restaurant, and they were tasty. The staff is friendly and willing to assist you. I would come back.
Very good services , Big confortable rooms, good bathroons. Nice swiming pool. The Hotel Restaurant is very good with tipycal Mexican food. It is located very close to a great Shopping Mall of San Miguel! Interesting to know stories about Cantinflas ( old movies artist) and this Hotel. There are so many Picture and scultures regarding Cantinflas!
I stayed there and my car got broken into and robbed in their private parking lot, no one wanted to be held responsible, there was no one to help me or my family, no manager nor anybody, they didn't want to show us the video of their cctv, gave us fake phone numbers of the manager, someone called "Maria Elena" (whitch i doubt is real). Went to the police and filed a report and there has been no follow up from anybody, i lost about 30,000 pesos (1,600 USD) in one night for staying in their crappy hotel. Also, is the farthest hotel from the city downtown (Where the fun is), the pool is super cold and has the worst bar i've ever been to. DO NOT STAY THERE !!! you have been warned.
My first trip into the heart of Mexico and it's historic beauty. The hotel is old world Spanish style with beautiful gardens and property. Rooms all had 2 double beds and a bit on small side. Bathroom was open concept with partition separating it from bedroom. Complimentary breakfast included. Rates very reasonable, I recommend, especially of on a budget.
I booked this place for my wedding and had several relatives book here so we could all be together. The booking experience was a nightmare, they made it so difficult and gave different information every time you would call them. They wouldn’t give the preferential rate to my relatives unless they would call at a specific time during the day (forget about the different time zones for the foreigners! They never stood a chance). The dry cleaning service wasn’t great... the food was good, but... I had really big expectations and I feel let down. Plus the rooms were not great and you could hear everything through the walls)
I will just assume that the comments to the right of this page are not from Mexican people. As a well traveled family, we understand that the culture in other countries may not meet our expectations. Are we willing to accept? For us, what is interesting is the culture of others and it should be an indication that if it doesn't meet our standard, maybe we don't really appreciate what we do have. Most places in these small cities don't have air conditioning, and I do find that the bed's are much firmer than what we are accustomed too. We had the breakfast here and it was exceptional and the service was great. While you don't have the conveniences of your own home or country I think it is unfair to throw this hotel under the bus. This place has more plus factors, clean, beautiful landscape, nice pool and the service for us was great. Do some research before you make a selection on accommodations and location. Inquire with the hotel if they are able to set you up with an uber or taxi driver to take you around to the sites.
Do not ever stay here! Check-in takes forever, and the clerk I had gave me the wrong key. My room was a long way across the property from reception and they had no bell staff to bring me a key. That meant I had to lug my own bags a long way to get to the room the first time, lug them back with me to get the correct key, and finally lug them there a third time with the correct key. There was no hot water, and worse, the toiletries in my bathroom were used. I have no faith that my room had been cleaned between guests. I actually preferred the Mision hotel in Guanajuato where my room had a dead mouse/rat to this hotel.
The experience was really bad. My wife and I have stay in other Misions (Comanjilla, Jalpan, Valle de Bravo) and this was bad. See the quality survey they’ve asked me to fill out. By the way, there is fitness center! And the pool is heated by the sun, so don’t expect much. They got confused with our reservation and were moved twice. The room we ended up was dirty, with torn towels and all in bad shape... see the photos. It’s expensive for what you got. Almost like staying in a hostel. We order coffee to the room and we got disposable cups! And cold drinks! I’ve should’ve went to the OXXO.
We only stayed one night at the hotel but I hope my reviews can help. If you want to be in the middle of things (city center), this is not the hotel for you. However, we did like that is very peaceful and more secluded from the hectic times of the holiday crowds. Only issue was that behind our room was a parking lot so I suggest you ask about that before they assign your room. Breakfast buffet is not that great either, food needs a little bit more of flavor in my opinion is a little bland. Facilities are beautiful, very well taken care of, the landscape is pretty all around. Staff at reception desk were not as friendly as I expected of a Misión Hotel chain but I guess it is luck who you get. Rooms are nice, beds are comfortable but take note that there is no heating in the rooms, December was really cold and we had to bundle up to be able to sleep.
