Good location and great backyard
There was so much to like about this unit. It was clean, obviously well-maintained, had dedicated and communicative hosts, and a fantastic backyard! The location was good-so close to the beach and the Luquillo Kiosks but still quiet. It feels safe and is only 30-45 minutes to SJU. I felt like we were actually seeing the real Puerto Rico instead of a sanitized version of it. As a result, we did have roosters wake us up in the morning and some neighborhood cats visit.
The unit is set up with bunk beds (twin over full) in one bedroom and a full/queen bed in the other room. Both rooms have decent sized closets but no drawers/dressers to store clothes. There is air conditioning only in the bedrooms with a fan in the main living area. Having windows on three sides meant we could usually get a good breeze going. You can see the ocean from the shower and one of the bedrooms. A car is incredibly helpful as nothing is too far away, but walking isn’t very easy.
Minuses that we encountered were minimal: it seemed we were light on some supplies. There were only 2 washcloths, no hand towels, and 1 kitchen towel provided. Likewise, a blender would have been nice. Dishes seemed somewhat limited as we were unable to use the plastic drinking glasses because the cupboards seemed to have had water damage and the glasses smelled of mold/mildew. A rear unit might avoid some of the noise we encountered from the road and arrival of other guests as noise carried.
