We stayed here for two nights. Let's be clear, this is not a hotel. It is a housing community that rents homes while the owners are away. It is a private community with security 24 hours and very exclusive. Most units are two bedroom units with the ability to lock out one of the bedrooms. Each home is individually decorated by the owner as they please. You may get lucky and get one from an owner with great taste or you may be stuck with something that is absolutely horrible. When we checked in we were assigned one of the units and after getting settled in we had problems with the lock on the main door. We called reception and they offered us another unit since they could not fix the lock as it was already late. We went to the other unit and the decoration was interesting to say the least. Definitely not our taste. On top of it, it smelled bad. We asked to get another unit and they were accommodating and showed us another unit. This new unit was not as good as the first we got, but acceptable and we stayed here. There is a pool area and a restaurant. We have breakfast there one day and the food was OK. Another reviewer mentioned the check out process being a hassle. I was asked wait for someone to check the room. Since I know what we do when we stay in places, it was not necessary for me to stay. I left them my phone number and asked them to call me if they had any issues. No call ever came. When we go back to SJDS, we will definitely consider staying here again.

Villas de Palermo was our destination wedding venue. It was amazing! They helped all of our guests very courteously and everyone was friendly and informative. Our main point of contact there was Jessica Marenco, the events coordinator. She was extremely helpful in arranging dates, decorations, stay and transportation. The event was a total success and an unforgettable experience for everyone. We had the ceremony on the beach. The chairs/decoration and organization was spectacular and the reception where the dinner and dance took place was spacious and well decorated with flowers and beautiful lights. The villas were very clean, spacious and had an amazing ocean view. The food at the restaurant was delicious, people at the wedding were amazed at how good the food was. The servers were attentive with the guests. The fireworks were outstanding and lasted for a good 10 minutes! Overall a great Hotel and would recommend it to everyone.

Villa Palermo is a great place to stay in San Juan del Sur. The houses have everything you need and beautiful views. They have a shuttle that will take you into town on the hour. Guiermo was one of our drivers and very kindly help me negotiate a phone in town. The pool is really nice and has had nice shallow section for the kids.

This is a great place to stay to explore the area and beaches around San Juan Del Sur. The villas are very spacious, both bedrooms having walk in wardrobes and en suite bathrooms, plus a good kitchen, large lounge and outdoor terrace and balcony. I was concerned that some people mentioned additional expensive aircon charge, however our price was all in, but be aware the power can go out across the area for a few hours a day. We hired a car and although the shuttle ran well, we preferred the flexibility of our own car. The toads to the beaches can be quite rough and I would recommend Hermosa and Marsella as relatively easy drives without a 4WD vehicle. We hired from Budget in the town which was easy. The pool area is good with the bar/restaurant adjacent to it. Highly recommend this place especially for a longer stay. Yhe picture is the view from our balcony.

I really enjoyed my stay. Individual villas made it feel more at home, and allowed for good privacy. The restaurant had great food. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The shuttle service was also super helpful. The location had an amazing view of San Juan del Sur.

I enjoyed very much our stay here since we had some preconceived ideas because of friends who had been here. It was better than we expected, villas inside are very nice, kitchen has everything it needs, great view of San Juan bay from the balcony and it's just a few minutes outside of SJDS town. The only thing I did not enjoy was the lack of coordination in the reception, a lot of people were checking out and we all had to wait for a person to go and check if everything was left in good shape in the villas I think if everyone checks out at noon it should be more organized and we were waiting in the reception with no A/C.

The villa was very enjoyable to stay in, however there were at times, ants on the ground floor. The AC was nice to have, and the cleaning service was good. The villa restaurant was average and pricey. The service and staff were friendly, prompt, and attentive. The best part about the villa was the ease of transportation to and from town. Our driver, Guillermo, was very professional, friendly, punctual, and gentlemanly. He was funny and a highlight of our visit. Thank you kindly for a great time!!!!!

Off the top of my head here are a couple of words I would describe the resort: safe, good value, quiet and peaceful, friendly service, spacious rooms and excellent view. The staff was attentive and provided excellent recommendations. The pool was well maintained and the view of the ocean was excellent.

Really debated between a 3 Star Review vs a 4 Star Review,,,, 3 is average and I'd say this is an average hotel, but compared to most hotels in SJDS, this is a bit better.... The rooms/villas are clean and confortable, AC was NOT adequate for the upstairs bedroom, but the downstairs bedroom had a separate AC unit which made the downstairs bedroom the more comfortable choice. The hot water is lukewarm at best in the showers, but hot in the ktchen sink. The grounds are not well manicured, but neat enough. The transport vans are well used. Frequent power outages with no back up generators for villas. Had a couple of hot uncomfortable nights. The staff is great and the restaurant is good. Overall, I would stay again.

There are not many alternatives in San Juan, so this hotel doesn't have to do much to stay in business. However, this is changing, new hotels and B&Bs are opening up as this region is becoming more popular travel destination. Villas de Palermo will have to upgrade with raising competition. The front desk staff will have to be trained to be a bit nicer and more attentive, the outdated villas will have to get upgraded, the attention to detail will have to be paid to, or this will not survive the competition.. It's close to town, but that's about all it can offer.
