The only problem we had was that we reserved a king bed but got a queen there were no more available. My husband is a large man n it was uncomfortable. Other than that we enjoyed our stay.

very nice hotel in downtown. Only complaint is lack of shuttle service to the air port

Nice decor. More British than American. This coming from a French citizen

Checked in for a one night stay here 12/15. Was fairly excited to stay as it looked like a nice hotel in the pictures. While the lobby was nice, the rooms were small, really outdated and somewhat run down. Didn’t feel like it was worth the price I paid, and on top of the already high room price, overnight parking was $30. Also, our bathroom smelled very strongly of BO (body odor). It wasn’t bad with the bathroom door closed but if you went in there it was pretty awful. Not sure what wasn’t cleaned right or how the housekeeping missed that, but we were running late to a concert and didn’t have time to wait for another room to be assigned. Pros: location and free drink voucher

I received a Mystery charge on my credit card. When I called I was told it was for tax. I stated it was not on my final receipt and asked for an updated receipt. Was told they could not give me one. I said if they charged me then they need to give me a receipt. They told me they just emailed me an updated receipt. I said thank you and they slammed the phone on me. I received to emailed receipts after and they never had the Mystery charge. I still have yet to receive any receipt for this charge. I guess i am just to except a charge with no proof of what its for?

We had a great experience checking in. Hotel staff was awesome, friendly and welcoming as well as very helpful. Loved this cozy hotel. Would stay again.

Nice. The hotel was nice and clean , very welcoming

Hotel was excellent. Staff was incredible, friendly, personal, made sure your stay and what was needed they provided. Room was clean, hospitality, peacefulness and privacy was excellent. From the parking attendant to the front desk to the staff in the restaurant you could not ask for a better place to stay.

The room I requested wasn't available, so I received a free upgrade to an amazing Junior Suite. So much space, with a lovely bathroom. The location is great, nearby the convention center and walking distance to many restaurants and a couple parks. I had a great stay!

Nice location, right at San Jose downtown. kinda quiet

Great location Close to sap arena Lots of great restaurants within walking distance

The overall experience was very-good. The coffee pot in the room stopped working. The staff replaced it with a new unit before my return, which was greatly appreciated. However, MY experience with the shuttle service was upsetting. I initially called the service at approximately 5:45 a.am. and was told the car was 15 minutes away. At 6:00a.m. a second call was place to the shuttle service to no avail. At 6:30 & 6:45 the service was again contacted; with a response being they will send a message to the dispatch office. At this time being I had an 8:15 flight, other arrangements were mad last minute causing a scramble to obtain boarding passes and clear security. Orbitz operators assured me they would research the situation and respond bad with an email. It has been approximately a week now with no response from Orbitz. Sincerely, William Gugino

The check in and out process was easy. The room was small, but comfortable. The parking rates are outrageous, but the staff is kind and will help you find more reasonable parking.

First time to SJ and chose this hotel for central location. Very pleasant staff. Room was a bit small but we only stayed in it to sleep. It is historic and they did a wonderful renovation. A newer sister hotel is planned. Great place because it is very central and SJ downtown is very walkable.

What a discovery. Had stayed at all the bigger hotels nearby and only booked this one because the price was marked way down and I simply could not pass it up. Soooo glad I did. For me, this is THE place to at in downtown SJ going forward. Location is excellent, rooms are beautiful and well appointed, staff is super friendly, nice bar and restaurant within the hotel, and a sweet little courtyard right outside the lobby where you can sip wine, read a book, or just chill and enjoy the outdoors. Close to EVERYTHING in downtown SJ. The local metro rail stops quite literally across the street, making for easy transportation to the whole Bay Area really easy.

What really stands out for me on this trip is the customer service. One morning I was using the hotels Wi-Fi and a survey popped up. I usually don't do surveys but I had just finished using the sink in our room and noticed some things that weren't working, so I mentioned it. I really wasn't expecting a response but later that day (early afternoon) someone came by to fix it. I was completely amazed and very appreciative that I was listened to

Was given keycard, took stairs to second floor room. Hall had musty, unpleasant smell, almost sewage-like. Opened door and walked into something resembling a poorly executed basement remodel. The room had horrible, dim yellow lighting, so I opened the curtains to let in natural light, and there appeared the light-well view— see accompanying photo. The room’s window was located on the bottom of a 4 story shaft. Couldn’t decide if the “natural light” was better or worse than the artificial light. Decided both were unacceptable, and that accompanied by the unpleasant smell was enough for me to leave the hotel and ask request a refund. The desk person was clearly irritated that I wanted a refund. To his “credit” he told me he had better rooms that he could switch me to. I asked why on earth he would send me to that room if he had better rooms available. That room shouldn’t be offered to anyone unless all other rooms had been filled, and then I would suggest that they view the room before checking in. This was merely pawning off the dregs to see if they could get away with it. I left with the assurance from the front desk that my card would not be charged. So of course I was surprised to review my bank statement and find that I had indeed been charged. I called and was told that no one was on duty that could refund the charge, but was assured that resolving my claim would be a priority. No return call, so I called again the next day. Was assured by manager that credit would po
