This was our third time at this hotel, the other two times we were very pleased. The hotel is located near the area we enjoy and our friends and family have known where we were. The hotel has always been clean and kept in good shape. This time it was different, at first glance it seemed to be the same as usual but as time passed we started noticing things. The bathroom door was the first thing that we saw, the paint was peeling on both sides and there was black marks on the bathroom side we couldn't decide if it was dirt or mold. The bed I slept in had been sat on so much the side had been weakened so much that if I slept with my back to the edge I felt like I might fall out of bed. In defense of the hotel this was not noticeable by looking at the bed.
If you don't mind hidden charges in excess of $150 then this is the place for you. We had to change rooms because the people above us (2nd) flr) was NOISY. NO SLEEP!!! UP ALL NIGHT. It sounded like we were under a gym during an all night workout session. The Bed was very uncomfortable (Sore backs). The Older (WF) desk clerk was DISRESPECTFUL and RUDE;she left me sitting in the lobby for an hour. This was WAY past the 4pm check-in and then she left. Another desk clerk had to give me my keys.
Nice clean hotel for a great price near shopping centers restuartants the beach and liberty station
Comfortable rom with great customer services. We enjoyed the stay.
Nice veiw beatiful weather had nice time staff very helpful n friendly alot things to do n san Diego
Nice location, staff. Convient to airport, mall, restaurants, etc. Highly recommend this hotel I would suggest getting a kitchenette.
This is not a fancy hotel, obviously. We were in a room close to the road, so there was a lot of freeway noise. The door has huge gaps around the edges, so cold air pours in. Beds were comfortable. Bath has a noisy sliding door that won't lock. Not a great room, but it was good enough, and the price was great. Would stay again, but would insist on a room away from the road.
Overall my 17 day stay in October, was comfortable. Attended a 3 day event high school reunion and took care of other business. Room cleaned daily, housekeeping called if your 'dnd' tag is left on door. Call for maintenance issues were responded to, for me, within 5 to 10 minutes, my room had the kitchenette. At times a little noisy due to ongoing street repairs, which were almost completed before I left. Due to a hospital being up the hill from the hotel, there were sirens from emergency vehicles periodically. Parking gets a bit limited in front of your room after 8pm or so, although the security guard will assist you with finding a spot. The hotel and tropical landscape is nice and well kept, seems to be some updating to windows. The Bunz is a good place for breakfast and lunch, I didn't get to try dinner...Overall stay was pleasant.
Nice and very inexpensive! It's also in a nice area near fashion valley mall and not too far away from downtown and Coronado and also the beaches!
Not too far from all the places that I needed to visit. Close to all the expressways also. Also not far from the mall and all the popular restaurants. Small fitness room and the pool and hot tub area looked pretty clean.
The hotel and room were better than I would have expected for the price.
We chose this Days Inn for the reasonable pricing and convenient location to family activities. It is a quick drive to Sea World, San Diego Zoo, USS Midway museum, Coronado, Mission Valley shopping area and restaurants. Parking was $5/night which is actually at the low end compared to other nearby hotels. No reason to spend of hundreds of dollars a night for a hotel room for just sleeping and showering, since you're out all day at the beach or attractions. Beds and bathroom were clean.
The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms have recently been painted and redecorated. Location is good, close to freeway, airport and shopping. With the exception that they now charge $5 a day for parking, the price is very reasonable for San Diego. If you just want a good place to stay with out fancy and glamor, this is the place.
very nice and good price. the workers are great and it is close to everything. can buy cheeper ticket to seaworld.
Basic room that met our needs. Hotel offers all basic amenities. Location is central to sites of interest.
First impression of the room we were in was "oh, not impressed". The curtains didn't adequately cover windows (esp for outside entrance doors.) The room was damp and had an odor. We discovered wet carpet due to air conditioner. We called the desk....they were swift to action and moved us to another room (called a business suite) and made an adjustment on our bill. This is the ONLY type of room we would stay in next time..staff very accommodating. I would recommend this hotel with caution.
Staff was nice. Hotel was quite dated. Pool was good.
Check in staff was amazing, very nice and helpful, it is to bad that the rooms are not even close to a great as there staff. Towels we just thrown on the sink, the tissue box looked as if it had exploded all over the bathroom sink, turned on the water and black sludge came out. And to top it all of my son went to put his ipad in the safe and it fell off the wall smashing his thumb.
It was great for my family! Right next to sea world zoo and the beach!! We had a great time!!
This is a large hotel with around 500 rooms, I believe. They don't start check-ins until 4:00, they have two clerks handling that. We waited in line 45 minutes to check in. They next morning we alerted the desk to plumbing problems in our room. They assured us it would get taken care of. It never did.
