This is a pet friendly motel and we had a dog barking almost continuously next door to us. A car in the parking lot got broken in to. Other than that.... We love candlewood, all rooms have a kitchenette and laundry and popcorn are free! The staff at this motel were great!

Make a trip to town to sight see. Great value. Clean room comfortable bed nice kitchen

Booked the room for a last min getaway. Staff was very helpful and costumer service orientated! Would stay there again!

Room had a definite odor. Disapponted that there was no room service because I stayed two nights.

I requested to have a cot put in my room but when I called to make sure that my request would be fulfilled the woman at the front desk told me they did not have cots even though I was able to request it online. All was made right though when I called corporate and told them about the cot situation they informed me that Candlewood is required to have cots and cribs on hand and the situation should be rectified when I got there. When I checked in I was given a complimentary upgrade thanks to the very nice woman at the front desk.

I had a great time and the room was perfect! We would definitely stay again.

I requested a non-smoking room and they put me in a smoking room; they were able to change my room after I complained, but it still smelled kinda funky. Nonetheless, it was clean and the location was good. The only worrisome thing is that they really emphasize for you to be careful with leaving your items in the car.

The rooms are clean, but they do look a little worn. The staff was super nice and it was what we needed for a one-night stay.

We picked this hotel for a variety of reasons. We are searching for a new home and it has a microwave, fridge, small pool and internet access so our 3 night stay was comfortable and efficient. For a longer stay, they also have laundry facilities. The location is close to downtown and has easy access to I-10. It is definitely not a luxury hotel, but for the price it's a great middle of the road place. The rooms smell a little like disinfectant when you first move in, but that goes away fairly quickly. Google maps directions from the airport are lousy when you get close to the hotel, so call the hotel or use a GPS when you go to make sure you don't miss it (right next to Edwin Watts Golf and inset about 200 feet). Staff was very helpful and pleasant. They allow dogs, but we never heard one bark (we are dog owners). They set aside a small area for dogs outside as well. We would stay there again for a utilitarian purpose or an inexpensive vacation. Yes, it's hot/humid in San Antonio in August.

Good location and friendly staff. Room was clean and well equiped. Friendly staff and will to go that extra mile for our comfort. Wife forgot her hair dryer and front desk had us one in no time.

The 1 bedroom suite was nice. Had everything we needed. Kitchen had dishes, bathroom was big, bedroom had television, living room couch made into a bed. Was perfect since we brought our teenage daughter. Only complaint was people took their trash into the stairwells, rather than walking it to the dumpsters outside. This made the hallways smell bad and took a couple of days for the staff to clean up. Pool was a little dirty too, but overall, the room itself was great and the location was only a 10 to 15 minute drive to the popular downtown attractions.

I found the hotel very clean and staff very friendly. the only problem i had was transportation. It lies outside San Antonio a fair bit so i had to taxi it and it can be very expensive. A car is a must. The hotel also allows pets so if your not an animal lover be warned. Overall i found it excellent.

The location of the hotel was perfect - just far enough out of downtown and close to highways, restaurants and shops. If you're looking for luxury, it's not the place to stay. But, if you're looking for a good home base, it's the perfect spot. The room was clean, and the staff courteous. And, it's also pet friendly.

Not the best experience. Arrived, internet didn't work, they moved me to the 3rd floor. The 3rd floor was extremely hot and unpleasant. The toilet broke and wouldn't flush. When I returned back the first day they had left the toilet cleaner brush in my sink-yuk! Next night, wouldn't flush again, wasn't up for a workman in my room so I lived with the stink. Next day they attempted to fix, next morning broken again. Also, kitchen floor was sticky and the chemicals from the laundry were very harsh and irritated my skin so I broke out in a rash. This was a bummer because as a very budget conscious business traveller this hotel was one of my favorites for its good value. I can't see myself returning. I've stayed at this hotel before and specifically picked it based on the price.

I was their on business, the hotel is not clearly marked you will see a bill board but not the hotel. The hotel sits way back in between 2 other businesses, I drove passed twice before I seen the hotel all the way back behind a storage place. I have friends that live in San Antonio and I had to go meet everyone that came to visit me at a gas station and bring to the hotel. There is nothing in the hotel rooms that give you an exact address to tell any one so they can put it in their GPS...even with mine I still could not find the hotel but I was in the area. The staff was friendly, but at night the doors are locked and I stood out in the lobby banging on the door for about 20 mins to get in. This was not cool at all. I wouldn't stay there again, pay for a hotel so that I don't have to clean and make my bed or carry the dirty towels to the front desk to get clean ones.

Hard to get fresh towels. You could wash your clothes in their laundry.

Clean rooms, nice ( small )outside pool, fitness room. Friendly staff.

My greatest worry always with any hotel is the cleanliness .I was well pleased with that .My eight year old and I stayed in a single and expected very minimal amenities . The room was small , but not to small . It had a small kitchen with dishes , dishwasher , and a microwave . I would would use this hotel again .

The room at the Candlewood Suites in San Antonio was big and roomy! I liked that they had a full fridge and range stove. I also enjoyed shoping in their grocery store that was on site. Everytime I go back to San Antonio, I will be staying at this hotel.
