This boutique hotel is wonderfully appointed and the beds are incredibly comfortable. Centrally located and very reasonably priced.

We stayed for one night and were so happy with our experience. Super spacious rooms, beautifully decorated and such lovely staff!

After multiple visits to the city this past year, I decided to stay at this hotel. I had heard about the history of the building and wanted to experience something other than the generic chain hotels. I was not disappointed. Taking the TRAX train from the airport was very convenient, as this hotel is only one block away from Gallivan Station. Upon arrival every staff member, from the valet attendant outside to the manager and front desk attendant, was welcoming and courteous. Although the room was smaller than generic chain hotel standards, the comfort of the bed and decor made up for it. As I was the only occupant and it was a short business trip, the room was more than adequate for my needs. This hotel never let me down during my stay there.

First of all, there is no parking offered. You can park on the street for free from 8p to 8a or park in an adjacent lot for $12 for 24 hours. Second, on the first night we were there the AC unit would not work, resulting in a room temp of 75 degrees. The next morning, we talked with the front desk staff, who was very friendly, and he was able to move us to a different room. Third, the breakfast, which was not complimentary, was not served until 730a which is not helpful if you have to be at an 8a meeting. Fourth, and finally, the hotel was fairly noisy. One night there were people running up and down the hall, yelling, talking loudly, and slamming doors. Next time I'm in Salt Lake, I will definitely stay at a different hotel, even if it costs more money.

Recently renovated. Friendly staff. Nice comfortable bed. Historical building. Will try the restaurant next time.

As expected, the rooms are a little small, as some historic hotels can be, but they are nice. The hotel is being upgraded and renovated, which lead to a bit of noise, and a delay on check in. Check in online said 3pm, but I was put off till after 4pm. Since I'd had an early flight from several time zones away, I was ready to get to my room and rest a bit before an evening business reception, so that was a bit annoying. Staff did not seem to really care that there were five or six patrons milling about the lobby, waiting for their rooms by that point. I think once the renovation is done, it will be a very nice place to stay.

I really think that the negative reviews on here do not accurately reflect the true nature of this hotel. It is beautiful in the lobby and rooms. The historic quality just adds to the ambiance. Not to mention that the price makes it one of the most affordable hotels in the vicinity, with easy access to downtown. The AC worked very well, the beds were very comfy. I agree that the rooms are small but if one has traveled to Europe, you can understand that many places in the world the rooms are sized in a similar fashion. As Americans, we get accustomed to having all of this room one does not even need. Again, for the price and location alone, who could complain?

I love historic buildings; the Peery is from the turn of the century but has been brought up to date with a fresh remodel. Beautiful room with exquisite bathroom. Walking distance to theatre and several restaurants.

Stayed at the Peery Hotel for a nearby conference. Great location, friendly staff, room was small but nice. Loved the old hotel character. Included breakfast at the restaurant a block away was very good. Would love to stay at the Peery again.

The Peery is an old but cozy building, constructed around 1910. I found it comfortable, clean, and charming. The only complaint I had centered around it's lack of temperature controls in the room. The room was boiling hot during my entire 2-day stay making it difficult for me to sleep. The staff told me that, due to the building's age, only the heat or the A/C are turned on at a time. They offered to provide a fan. When I came back that night and requested a fan be sent up, I was informed they had run out of fans. Needless to say, I didn't get much sleep that night. This may sound insensitive, but I really don't care how old the building is. Hotels are meant for sleeping - that's like their main reason for existing. The Peery really needs to invest in retrofitting the building with better temperature controls. Everything else about the hotel is great, but I won't be returning.

Absolutely stunning historic hotel. It is showing its age however, and many projects were going on during our stay which will no doubt make it nicer. We received an upgrade to a corner suite and we were thrilled to have a living room as well as bedroom/bathroom. The only complaint we had was that our thermostat was not working, so our room was very warm. Because it was March and just one night in an otherwise really nice room- we did not complain about it.

Love this place, had family and business all in one and had a blast at the hotel! Very quiet and peaceful

My overall stay was excellent. However, I feel that the gentleman checking me out could have been friendlier. He seemed to be friendly with others until it was my turn to check out. I felt it was quite inconsiderate and rude of him to feel he could be so kind to others then turn around as if I was a bother. My friend who also checked out right before me got the same attitude and greeting. I'm not sure what caused him to change attitude, hence all my friend and I did was say, we would like to check out from room such and such. Other than that my stay was fabulous.

Great location cool boutique hotel room was nice and clean a little small but didn't care will stay there again

I needed a centrally located place to stay for a couple of nights while taking care of some business in downtown Salt Lake. I was curious about the Peery because I grew up in Salt Lake and I knew the old building well. I was happy to see it had been renovated. On both scores my experience surpassed expectations. the building and rooms have been tastefully renovated and updated. If you allow for the fact that the Peery was built in the early 20th C. and so the rooms are a little smaller than you might find in the Marriott up the street, you'll find a comparable level of comfort, service and atmosphere. the complementary breakfast was a real pleasant surprise - a full warm eggs and bacon or bagel and fruit if you prefer, breakfast rather than the usual danish and coffee. The location is a real plus too, in a new entertainment district with clubs, bars and a great micro brew in the same block. There is also plenty of reasonable parking adjacent. I'll stay there again any time I'm in Salt Lake City.

We're from Michigan and weren't sure about hotels in the hot town of Salt Lake. But we absolutely fell in love with the characteristics of the hotel and the friendly staff. We plan on making another trip out there and if the Peery is available we'll book it. Its location was also amazing, we walked pretty much everywhere in Salt Lake. I highly recommend staying here.

But the parking sucked, expensive. The big brand names have pools, and if your visiting SLC, you want a pool. And the parking at the other hotels is free. Worth a visit if you avoid the big brands

Down town location great for walking around to local restaurants, walked to farmers market in the morning. Old historic hotel with charm. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Internet and tv didn't work well...perhaps they just don't belong in a hotel built in 1910! Second time we have stayed.

This is a boutique hotel in downtown Salt Lake City. I had a small quaint room at the end of the hall that was perfect for my needs. I wouldn't call it is luxury hotel but it is historic, charming and has tons of character. Another great thing about the hotel is its location. The Peery is close to the TRAX lines and many great restaurants and shopping plazas. SLC is safe and walkable and this hotel puts you in the perfect location for all kinds of activities downtown. The staff was very helpful and attentive to my needs.

Nice hotel in downtown SLC. Old but with a lot of history and charm. No parking. Room was clean.
